  1. You'll have to admit that Bandai did bring their A game to the Star Wars line.
  2. Good luck! IMO you can skip everything after 4 except 12 & 13 for this kit. Did you receive the parts already?
  3. The smaller the better! I really love it when people nail the design with as few parts as possible.
  4. Has anybody ever thought of making a, say, 1/350 display piece of the SDF-1 bridge?
  5. I also mostly display my aircraft kits in flight configuration, and when no explicit parts for closed doors are provided, I usually fit the door parts as good as I can and then apply a layer of polyester putty. After this is sanded flush with the fuselage, I re-scribe the panel lines around and across the doors.
  6. This one is for you: http://www.taghobby.com/1-0/1-3/hot-toys-16-action-figure-《avengers-age-of-ultron》scarlet-witch/
  7. The first minutes of the 2005 "Assault" are pretty intense when Hawke looses his team, but after that the movie quickly fizzles away into lameness. "The Nest" only needs some minutes to put the players on the board, and then the suspense never stops. It also takes some nods to the original, like hails of bullets perforating walls in stylized shots, and the assaulters being a faceless swarm, disguised by their night vision goggles, gives it an "Aliens" feel. Director Siri later made "Hostage" with Bruce Willis, which wasn't a huge success, but I also like this movie for it's suspense and Ben Foster's really creepy character.
  8. Speaking of "Assault", there was a french remake in 2002 that is a totally awesome movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0280990/
  9. Didn't the real MiG-31 have a super fast Gatling?
  10. Maybe it would be more economic to polish one printed prototype in each scale and find a caster for mass production? Given the parts breakdown, you could even get away with colored cast parts and skip painting.
  11. The movie finally made it into the cinemas here, impressing public & critics alike. I'm glad I watched in a theater, because the sound design is very important in carrying the events and sucking the viewer right in. The movie is so minimalistic, it would work as a stage play, and the horror unfolds at a perfect pace, with the lead actors delivering an oscar-worthy, compelling performance. A killer feature debut from the director & her team, and I hope this creative work will be rewarded.
  12. The fans had to wait 40 years, but this year Round 2 will release a massive (appr. 1/48 scale) plastic kit of the iconic Eagle Transporter from Space: 1999! https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10152943371295885&id=46567890884 To show your appreciation, strap your old MPC kit to a rocket and fire away!
  13. We need a proper 1/72 Harpy!
  14. Just back from seeing it and I haven't been blown away so hard since "Gravity". This is what cinemas were invented for - spectacle, but with a heart & a brain, and style!
  15. I started to work on my Kotobukiya Anubis
  16. Again judging from the 3/4 view, I think the nose should bulge less at the front when viewed from above. Everything else is pretty much perfect IMO.
  17. This is great work and entertaining to watch unfold. Regarding the nose, I think the front end and the "dome" are not straight rounded curves, but somewhat flat at the peak point. See the colored 3/4 view on the first page. The purple colored stripe above the Macross kite at the front gives you a good idea of the cross section of the dome.
  18. Fantastic paint & weathering work! Maybe the gun sensor should get a frame in the hull color to tie it in a bit more, but overall this looks like a studio model. Got any more work to share?
  19. Those walking drones are getting even creepier than the flying ones:
  20. From what I've seen and read so far, the Bandai kits actually have an edge over the FM versions in regard of the level of detail and accuracy. The pilot figures & droids are better, too. On the downside, some panel lines are heavier because of the color separation of the parts.
  21. At least the comic does a better job of looking the part
  22. Hey, you'll be even more impressed with the details & mechanics they put into such a small kit.
  23. There's a new (online exclusive?) Mecha Collection coming with several smaller crafts - looking nice, but the pricing is a tad ambitious at 2970 Yen. And where's the 1/72 DWG 262? http://www.taghobby.com/1-0/1-2/bandai-hobby-online-shop-2015年5月8日起接受訂購,日本2015年7月派貨-模型《/
  24. As for a low-complexity approach, you could back it with aluminium foil to get some nice hints of the blue when the angle of view is right.
