Here's another blunder. Activision releasing True Crime New York City when they did. Damed thing had a fatal bug in it where you had to throw a bad guy off a cargo container during one of the story missions, and the game didn't recognize the button input. Edit: I'm talking about the X-Box Collector's edition.

It's been a while since I've played the tabletop game so my memory on the subject is fuzzy at best.

Amusing. Sick, but amusing nonetheless. -
What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0
Wanzerfan replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Spider Riders. It's on from Sunday-Friday mornings on This Houston. Now I get to see it from beginning to end (The WB only showed about the first half of the series before bailing on it to air other series). I keep hoping that Bee Train gets around to making a sequel. -
I agree, it not a blunder. The game just gets constantly pushed back because of other projects that come down the pike. I think the guys are waiting for the creation of the fourth Unreal engine if you ask me .

Robotech and HG License Debates

I think I'm going to need a full set of scuba gear for the ocean of sarcasm I just encountered. -
I bet that really played hell with the heat. I heard about this one guy who wanted a mech that didn't generate any heat at all. basically what he got was an Atlas with enough slugthrowers to trun anyone into swiss cheese. What the moron didn't realize is that you lose heat at the start of your next turn.

It also didn't help Daikatana any when almost the entire development team bailed on John Romero and went on to make KISS' Psycho Circus. That was a blunder of epic proportions.

Here's another joke reply... "Howard the Duck 2" Good movie based off a 70's Marvel Comic.

Movies that were better than the book
Wanzerfan replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
When I see a movie based off a book I'm going in expecting what I call plagerism on the screen. Starship Troopers fell infinitly short of that mark. Dune made some changes, but they were logical. Peter Jackson screwed up Return of the King by killing off Saruman way too early in the film (exteneded edition DVD). -
And to add to the pile of sh*t that was Advent Rising... Boy, did Majecso really screw that one up. Not only did they mess up the game, they clusterf'd the million dollar sweepstakes.

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0

I'm currently watching Bleach on CN. One of the better dubs out there. I was suprised that the actor who does Ichigo is the same one who did the voicework for The Last Remnant's Rush Sykes. -
Sequels that we DON'T want to see!!

"Death Proof II" 'Nuff said. -
I thought you were talking about the X-Men Origins movie, Radd. My mistake.

Okay this is a thread I wanted to get going for a while, and I just got around to starting it. My biggest complaint in video games is the transistion from the cabinet to the console. The biggest culprit is the way Capcom handled the release for the console version of X-Men vs. Street Fighter. A local video game store (when it still around) had it running on a PS-X when it first came out and I decided to give it a try. Imagine my suprise when I hit the medium punch and medium kick buttons to tag out my fighter when nothing happened. The end result was I had my ass handed to me with both characters. I thought tagging in characters was an intregal part of the game. IF IT'S IN THE ARCADE CABINET IT SHOULD BE ON THE GAME DISK YOU DEVOLOPING MORONS!!!. Namco made the same blunder when the changed the name of a game from Soul Edge to Soul Blade. Way to go pissing off arcade purists, numbnuts. What are your video game nightmares?

Movies that were better than the book
Wanzerfan replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
... ... ... I'll bite my tongue just this once. I have to say that both the book and David Lynch's Dune are both equally good. Battlefield Earth was definately better than the book, and even then, the movie sucked donkey dicks. -
I thought he left as the Star Legue fell apart (that animated series was really vague about that point). Silly me. And in case you haven't guessed, I have an abject hatred for Clan Jade Falcon, espicially for the sh*t they pulled on planet Sommerset .

Look what happens when I trust a freaking question in a Game Informer trivia (that question stated that only Vega's and M. Bison's names were switched). I didn't realize all three bosses names were swapped. Way to go Capcom.
-
Not blasphemy. In Japan his name is Bison. Capcom in thier infinite wisdom decided to swap the names of the two characters for the US release of Street Fighter II. The original Japanese naming kinda makes sense since Bison is from Madrid, Spain. But this is coming from a man who insists on refering Resident Evil as Biohazard.
-
Already been made. It's subtitle is The Last Stand. And from what I've head of the movie, it would piss off even the least rabid X-Men fan, the story was mucked up so much. I heard the reason why is because most of the actors were bailing to do "Superman Returns".
-
Don't you mean 2099, from that ill-fated comic line? Nice painting of Bison by the way, wolfx

Back to the series. It was a cool mix of compuer animation and cell animation. It's also where I found out what a, I may get spanked for saying this, Kerensky was such a coward. Insead of staying in the Inner Sphere to prevent the Star League from falling apart, he takes a hike and inadvertly forms the Clans. The Clans, a bunch of facist shitheads who aren't happy unless they have the entire pie to play with, with Clan Jade Falcon the biggest shitheads of the bunch.

No, but the song was written because of the show. Hell, the chorus includes the phrase "I'm not a prisoner, I'm a free man. I'm not a number..." Even the opening of the song has a soundbyte (sp.?) from the show. as well. Pick up a copy of the album The Number of the Beast and you'll see what I mean.
-
If the theme song isn't Iron Maiden's "The Prisoner", I'm definately not watching it.

Yeah, but I bet he had direct it Kowamori's way with very limited freedom . Cowboy Bebop was great, by the way, but Macross Plus stunk like a big, steaming pile of what comes out of Bud Adams' mouth . If I didn't see it, I wouldn'tve believed that Kowamori was connected in any way with Battletech.
