The Transformers 2 Thread--A Michael Bay thread
Wanzerfan replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I actually sat through the freaking thing over at Tinseltown when it came out. Believe me, you did not miss much where the humans are concerned. The damned thing had more plot holes in it than a spaghetti colondar. The only good thing about the freaking movie is the action figures it spawned, and I'll leave it at that. -
What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0
Wanzerfan replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I saw an Area 88 arcade game way back in the late eighties/early nineties. it's basically a Gradius rip-off. No matter what Dominion Tank Police you watch Masamune Shirow is the bomb (I saw the New version on VHS, pretty good stuff; I missed most of the original series, though). -
Given the fact the members over there give rookies a virtural pie in the face, he deserves the act ten times over.

One of my first experiences with that prick dougbendo was in a thread I posted in Robotech.com a few years ago entitled "A civil debate, which had the better mecha evolution: Macross or the RDF/REF?" (I think that's how it was titled, I posted it so long ago that I can't really remember the tilte) flameing, even though I expressly stated in the title "no flameing". I warned him once about his posting behavior, threatening to have him banned from the thread by a moderator (totalkrig being one of the saner moderators at the time, he may have been an ass, but he was my type of ass) if he kept it up. That kept him quiet for a while. Too bad I got permabanned from the site a few months afterward, it was a pretty good thread.
-
Really? I certainly hope Kaiba wasn't permabanned. We need a voice of reason over there in that sea of bullshit over there.

I don't blame Harmony Gold entirely for this fiasco, blame the economy at the time. The animation company who was in charge of the animation wanted to be paid in yen. The problem was the value of the dollar sucked agianst the yen, and Harmony Gold didn't want to have anything to do with the exchange rate at the time. It also didn't help matters any when Matchbox decided to pull out entirely, effectively killing the deal for the rest of the series.

Some people seem to be forgetting a simple point. Macross II was a project to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Macross phenomenon. Kowamori was most likely busy at the time, so the production crew went on without him. Besides who said that Kowamori actually hated Macross II? Hopefully Seto will stop by to sort this freaking mess out. I was talking about the people who think that Robotech is the bee knees, and anyone who doesn't agree with them should be run off of Robotech.com on a rail.

They weren't racist. They were ethinc stereotypes (one of them deinately sounded like he was from a black housing project). Okay how about for some unkonwn reason Bay couldn't direct the third Transformers film, how about we get the guy who did the Hellboy movies. Hell, even get Ron Perlman to join the cast ("Going from old Jew to young hero" - something Perlman said walking out of the makeup trailer after after his session). -
You forgot to mention the full-blown facists, Einherjar. I don't know who to blame about the SDF-2 fiasco; The HG writers of the revised script for including it in "To the Stars", or Markalan Jopolin and "Jack McKinney" for setting the two ships back to back (I don't know who did it first, my pick's Jopolin).

The only good thing about Venture Bros. is that Paul Warbutron is a part of the cast. Like I said, part of the crap block.

HELP…! Look for some recommendations…
Wanzerfan replied to Renegade Zentradi's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
In the case of W, there were not any geneticly engennered people, just five badasses in souped up gundams. Note that some of the other mecha were named after the signs of the Zodiac (Not sure about Epiyon or Talguese, though) Mobile G Fighter Gundum also didn't feature geneticly engineered humans, Just a bunch of Kaiju warriors duking it out in Reflex-Controled machines. -
The Doctor from Star Trek Voyager. I see you were lucky enough to miss that series. I guess I was too vague in my last post.

He's good, very good. But like all directors there are ones that are better and ones that are worse. In the case of ol' Clint, there are a hell of a lot of directors much worse than him, and a few (very few) that are better than him. He's up there with Rodriguez and the others I've listed. If I made it sound that I didn't like Eastwood, I didn't mean to. That is far from the case. Maybe I shouldve placed a sarcasm tag in my last post. -
If a freaking hologram can win, that is . Hey, maybe she can hook up with Voyager's Doctor .

Directors I would like to see to helm the franchise... Robert Rodriguez James Cameron John Carpenter Hell, even Clint Eastwood would do a better job than that freaking hack. Either him or the guy who directed the Hellboy franchise. -

One thing in Bay's favor, though. At least he's not that prick Uwe Boll. -
Whoever thought to do a movie remake of The A-Team should really have his head examined. No one else could play Hannibal Smith like George Peppard did, and there can be only one B.A.-Mr. T.! For former military men, those guys sure missed wtih their automaic weapons a lot. One question about the television series though, was Murdock truly mentally unstable in the or was he pulling a Klinger?

Ever see "The Island"? That's one of his "gems". -
I thought it was based underground next to the Federation's base in Brazilia (Gundam referance here).

What can I say. I like "No Cure for Cancer". I can't help it that I absolutely hate Bay. -
I have only one thing to say... Seth Green is CERTIFIABLY INSANE!!!

I would rather see Micheal Bay's head mounted on Dennis Leary's six foot erection (in the place of the cheeseburger, of course) instead. -
And Dan is as suck-ass as ever, I suppose .
-
I wonder if Bit Cloud and Leena ever got hooked up? The original series hinted at that they were falling in love (I especially love the scene when they first met; Bit showing up those goons all the while making it look like the fighting moves he was making were accidental).

VFTF1, for page 41... Thank you and screw you for making my eyes bleed (and, no, I'm definately not quoting that atrocious post). I hope that bodybuilder sits on you and farts.
