All Things Video Games Thread: II

I heard that expansion pack was overrated. Game Informer gave the thing a 7.75 out of 10, a just above average score by their standards, 7 being the number. -
Lita Ford With Ozzy Osbourne "Close My Eyes Forever" Joan Jett and the Blackhearts "Put Another Dime in the Jukebox" Heart "What About Love" "Barracuda" (They wrote that song because some schmuck thought the Wilson sisters were lesbian lovers) "These Dreams" "Alone" "Crazy on You" "Magic Man"

Check #57 right here.

Nah, I just watch a lot of VH-1 Classic . That little fact was on thier 100 Most Metal Moments countdown, hosted by the illustrious Dee Snyder . Jimmy Dean: "Big Bad John". Roger Miller: "King of the Road" "Chug a Lug, Chug a Lug" (best song about teenage drinking ever) Lets throw in a little Paul Rogers here: Free "All Right Now" Bad Co. "Feel Like Making Love" "Bad Co." "Shooting Star" All the stuff he did with Queen; boy did Roger Taylor and Brian May make an excellent choice for a Freddie Mercury replacement.

I'm just spelling the name the was it was in the Eternity comics and the novels, which is how I'm used to seeing it spelled.

Jesus, these guys are dropping like flies. At least he had the balls to go all out for a Playgirl layout, unlike that chicken, Kip Winger.

Nah, bacause the changes were made by Lucas himself; that scene was supposed to be in the film but had to be cut due to filming constraints (that and a horribly low budget). Not so you notice, but filming in Tunisia was a real bitch. And besides, Boba Fett is the most dagerous bounty hunter out there, being a clone of a Mandalorian. I wonder if the Fett clan and the Ordo clan got along?

Wolff actually shined in Malcontent Uprisings.
-
The mainstream Sentinels comics were okay. It's the Malcontent Uprisings where the franchise really shined, due to the excellent work of both Spangler and Ling (Ling's on par with Ron Lim artwise), too bad Ling didn't make the final few issues. On the subject, issue #7 is the best Robotech story ever (seeing a micronized Breetai putting the sole of his boot in the face of a prick Army of the Southern Cross grunt put a smile on my face). The Waltrips can't draw their way out of a wet paper bag. No, Seeing Johnathan Wolff on the SDF-1 is what killed it for me; I agreed with the sentiment when The Devil's Hand stated it that Wolff was not a part of the original SDF-1 mission.

The artwork kinda reminds me of the stuff in my Mekton Zeta books.
-
Actually the level cap in Fallout was increased to 30 when you installed Broken Steel, another reason to get the Game of the Year edition.
-
I wouldn't wipe my ass with that issue. I have the following copies in mint to near mint condition. Wildsrorm ROBOTECH #0 #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 Sourcebook #1 Love & War #1 Love & War #2 Needless to say, I bailed after Love and War #2, because the storyline was going in directions I wasn't liking.

Controlling the jets just plain sucks in Just Cause 2 (I haven't really controlled the prop-driven planes, so I'm not sure on that front). Sure you can control the pitch and roll with the left analog stick, but when it comes to trying to use the right analog stick to control the yaw, you're sh*t out of luck (the damned thing only controls the freaking camera and aim). At least you can control the yaw with the helicopters with the right stick. That's my biggest gripe about the game so far. -
I see that you only did the main quest and Broken Steel, there are also some trophies that are fun and outside of the box (you get a trophy for planting a live grenade on someone; pickpocketing someone and transferring a frag or plasma grenade or mine into their inventory).

Boy, did I put my foot in my mouth when I made this comment. I just realized that Damon MacReady was the name of the character in that movie "tapestry", not the actor's name. I wasn't too impressed with the televison trailers for the film.

Did you know that the original Dynasty Warriors was Koei's attempt to get into the one-on-one fighting genre? I also liked the original Bloody Roar as well on the PS-X.

Nah, it's just some moderator being cute by renaming this thread. It was originally a Just Cause II thread. Once you master slingshotting (travelling by parachute using the grappling hook to pull you along) the game really gets fun. This is also a game where controlling the fighter is way harder than the helicopter. I guess I have to practice with the jet. I also ran into a minor glitch playing this game: during the mission where you have to destroy satelittes while they're still on their launch pads, I destroyed two of the satellites when the warning that the fourth satellite had been discovered, and I haven't destroyed the third one yet. Then again, the third one was most likely destroyed by their own troops who were gunning for my ass, since I did take potshots at the other two satelittes with a stolen mounted minigun (the devlopers took a page from Halo 3 with that one, but they gave you the bonus of unlimited ammo with the thing) after desroying the first one. -
Lord, am I having fun with this game. Blowing sh*t up, causing all kinds of mayhem, using the revolver to blow the heads off of shithead government facist troops. And this is all just while I'm just about 6% into the game. Getting the Achievements are a blast (I especilly loved using the grapple to drag the poor sons of bitches (army pricks) behind my vehicle; I also got the "Top of the World" Achievement). I'm still not far enough into the game to give a full review, but I'll say one thing, this game will really suck up your time. Thoughts?

Along with a screenshot of a VF-1S giving Tommy Yune, Steve Yun, and Doug "Bend Over" Bendo the finger.

This is how I think the final season of "24" will end...

Gordon Lightfoot (next to Anne Murry, one of the best Canuck singer-songwriters out there) "Sundown" "The Ballad of the Edmond Fitzgerald" Neil Diamond (anything from this guy rules) "Cracklin' Rose"-lord I love this song. "Sweet Caroline"

I see you guys finally took care of the lag monster. God, the speed of the page load times here for a while on DSL were so slow for me at times I thought I was still on freaking dial-up. I like the draco art, HappyPenguins.

Clash of the Titans - remake teaser

As well as my bullshit detector. -
Looks like it. Maybe the team will be led by the child of Keith and Princess Alura.

Okay, so how about Francis Ford Coppola getting the riegns of the Robotech movie. At least during the production of "Bram Stoker's Dracula" the cast and crew actually had sessions where they actually read the book at his urging.
