So I watched the cam rip. Of course I didn't really understand [strikethough]every[/strikethrough]anything. New slightly-less-disturbed Asuka didn't seem bad to me. Bare minimum she's good at fanservice (how in the world has the straw scene not been plastered all over the internet yet?) Honestly I like the slightly more sane cast, without knowing what they're saying, atleast.

I can't figure out how serious Canaan is supposed to be...it's got a whole ton of goofy packed in it. Now Tokyo Magnitude one the other hand...I think it's going to end up being some kind of heavy.

We shouldn't forget about Ozma here either. He's better than Alto at the very least.

I watches Clannad and Afterstory. Those last like 5 episodes were hard to watch, many a girly tear ended up being shed. I noticed something kind of interesting about the show: Tomoya and Nagisa never have any intimate-type moments on screen other than holding hands, one hug, and lying together in their PJs during her flashback sceen. Aside from the fact that she ends up yelling it at her dad, you'd think it was immaculate conception.

I wonder what we'd get instead of poor "table-kun"? Man that scene was weird..it creeped me out more than anything...especially....the...um....residue.

sooo....if Endless Eight doesn't end this week...Where do I need to go to murder people?

But I wouldn't necessarily call the movie's end a bad end, even compared to the TV series. A great number of people died in E7 because of Dewy's dropping bombs on the scub to spawn those sphere things and when the debris from the beam gun came raining down it took out most of the tower cities. Personally, I would hesitate to even call the characters the same people between the movie and the series. Same looks, same voice, but different motivations, backgrounds and personalities. (though Renton and Eureka's love story remains similar to some degree...both characters are actually very different from the TV series counterpart) I think the movie is best though of as a different story carrying the same meaning. I wouldn't even call it a retelling. It's just based on the same premise, theme and message.

Yeah...I understand the prequel point of view... But I don't think that's the case...the universe wouldn't be self consistent, with several locations being present in both when the TV series would have had anything on the planets surface buried beneath the Scub.

That's not what I'm saying...it was made before TTGL after all... I'm saying the battleship looks almost exactly like ttgl's including the face on the front and the enemy mecha looks almost identical to Viral's 'bot. I personally haven't seen those designs in anything else...It's neat to see a parody's design end up in a..well slightly less parody-ish thing in the future, it normally goes the other way.

may be you should watch it with subs so you understand whats going on before judging it to crazily?

Remember she's billingual...so I've got that german covered 2001's ending was easy...Bowman gets wisked off though the monolith and trans-humanized (er...made into a "Star Child" rather) and then sent back to observe humanity...and later (in 2010 and the other novels) he helps to observe life on europa after some events go down. Or maybe it's the book that made that clear..I can't remember

I'm watching Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai It's awesome. It's got a little FLCL wtf, TTGL mecha with chest-faces(in fact the giant mecha episode has TONS of TTGL designs including the cathedral Terra ship and a Chick dressed up like Simon from the opening scene...and it's from 2002), and 2001: A Space Odyssey mixed in (Complete with monoliths and star babies) and just-similar-enough-to-not-get-sued Star Wars Imperial march. And one chick is a dead ringer for Mari in Eva 2.0. and a Rubber sword that makes your boobs expand until they explode.

Now that I've finally watched it... It didn't make a lot of sense there at the end...at all. Perhaps it's a symptom of the sub. I'm gonna have to rewatch it. Otherwise I quite liked it.

If you can't find Eva 1.0...you're failing at the internet hardcore. Eve 2.0 simply won't be found for a while...if it's available before the DVD release at all.

The movie isn't a sequel...or a retelling...it's like a new story...mostly...but also a bit of a sequel and a retelling. Yup.

From what I've heard..it's certainly different than the TV series now. Apparently everyone is just a little bit sane-er. Like apparently Asuka has some outward signs of actually liking Shinji this time around. *gasp* This comes second hand from translations I saw on 4chan...so...yeah. Of course...if they are just a little bit more sane...I wonder how much worse everyone will end up getting it in the end?
