Hello Nana, welcome aboard the...uh...boards. Isn't "nana" what people usually sing when they're saying goodbye?

Robotech 3000/2004 piece of crap!

Guyver calls them Zoanoids... Bionoid was just a close sounding equally goofy word. Bionoid........Bio-dome........Avoid the Noid.........I think I'll stick with "bubble-boys". It'll be a movie about Jake Gyllenhaal (Bubble Boy) vs. John Travolta (The Boy in the Plastic Bubble). -
I last saw DD in 1998 at the Middle East. There was a band that opened for him, and Dick was rather awestruck by the female lead singer for the band. The last time we played Boston was about 2 years ago. We played TT the Bears Place and Dick Dale was playing that night, next door, at the Middle East. Anyways, that's why I asked. Dick Dale rocks. My band does covers of Taco Wagon and The Wedge.

I heard that was horrible, it was called like attack of the bubble people or something like that with bad british accents "Clash of the Bubble-boys" That's too funny. What the heck is a Bionoid anyways? edit: der... Clash, not Attack. Brain must be set to Star Wars today. Macross II is available, dubbed, at most of your major retail DVD stores. (I know you can buy it at Coconut's around the corner from my house) It was put out by Manga. It's considered a "movie" although in reality, it's just all the episodes put on one DVD with opening and closing credits shown at the begining and end (instead of each inbetween each episode) Other than that, it's exactly like the individual episodes. As far as the quality, the video looks fine. The dub script leaves a lot to be desired, but I don't think they had a real "killer" script to start with, so as far as I can tell, they did an alright job. edit: Submitted by accident before I finished typing -
Was that Dick Dale show the one at The Middle East about 2 years ago?

I do, obviously. Can't you tell from my post? In that case, I think Katana has some macress toys to sell you. BTW, it's not a Macross item. Nowhere in Macross, does the YF-1R exist, only in Robo-blech. Well they don't really have much to choose from do they? How many companies are putting out toys from either series at this very moment? The answer is "none". Why, you ask? Because the only company that hold the license wants to put out this POS instead of getting some of those toys out there. A Neon is more affordable than a Viper, does that make it better? They're both cars. They're both Mopars. Well, I have 3 1/48s and 1 MPC. I've never had any problems with my 1/48s and my MPC came with a broken light, it can't stand in Battroid mode, at all, and the sculpt looks like crap. The only thing I stated in my first post in this thread is that I think MPCs are shite. I never said others shouldn't buy it. I am entitled to my opinion of this toy just like I'm sure you've voiced your displeasure with whatever 1/48 problems you've had. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean you have to take it so personally.

I'm a 1/72 and 1/48 guy, but with the new 1/60 GBP coming out, I may have to break down and start buying some 1/60 stuff too.

You can slap some purple paint on a piece of poop, but it'll still smell like crap. If I really wanted this model, I'd make it myself. I have no doubt in my mind this will still be a Major Piece of Crap.

Country (Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Johnny Horton, David Allen Coe, Sonny Burgess......) Rockabilly (Ray Campi, Wanda Jackson, Johnny Carroll, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran....) Rhythm and Blues (Little Richard, Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Kings of Nuthin'...) Soul (Sam and Dave, Wilson Pickett, Motown, The Commitments ) 60's Reggae and Blue Beat (Some people call it Ska)(Prince Buster, Symarip, Desmond Dekker, anything on Trojan Records.....) Two Tone Ska (The Specials, Madness, The Beat, The Selector....) Psycho-billy (The Meteors, Demented are Go, Klingonz.....) Punk (The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, The Misfits, The Beltones, Swingin' Utters......) Oi (Cockney Rejects, The Business, Blitz, Skrewdriver (I don't like their politics, but I do really like their music. Hey, nobody says anything when I listen to Public Enemy), Patriot, The Anti-heroes....) Early Hardcore (Agnostic Front, Gorilla Biscuits, Burn, Minor Threat......) Neo-Irish Music (The Pogues, The Skels, Flogging Molly, The Dropkick Murphys...) Early Glam and Metal (Thin Lizzy, KISS, AC/DC, New York Dolls, Sabbath.....) Old Rap (RUN-DMC, Slick Rick, NWA, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys...) Songs in the Key of Springfield (Songs from the Simpsons) 80's One Hit Wonders (I have quite a 45 collection) Weird Al Yankovic (One of the most underrated comic geniuses of our time.) .....and probably a whole slew of other music I forgot about. It would've been easier for me to list the stuff I don't listen to. I generally only listen to the "oldies" station when I have to listen to the radio, although I do like to listen to Howard in the morning. edit: spelling and punctutation

Maybe he'll release itso you can watch both versions. IIRC, there've been a couple DVD's I've watched where you can choose between watching the movie with the extra footage worked into the movie, or choose to watch the original version. I'm pretty sure Lucas will incorporate that into a SW DVD boxed set, thus making the people who've already bought the first 3 episodes on DVD have to buy it again.

your bidding on, 1 x 7 inch destroid defender 1 x Jetfire (yellowing, no arms or back pack) 1 x super fugly Matchbox "Veritech" (The only toy ever deserving of being called a such an ugly name.)

I want one, but I think you know that already.

Great tip! I tried it out last night and it worked like a charm. Thanks!

Looks like "ugly leather jacket" is back on the auction block: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=13668 Ahh!!! My eyes!!! It burns, it burns!!!

You can still afford ham after all those Yamatos?????
-
What does that look like? Technically, I like 1/48s a lot better than the 1/60. I bought too many 1/60 DRYL ones. 2 of each. 1 would be fine but after 1/48, I have to turn my back on it. If I didn't, I would be flat broke. Same as the regular VF-1D, except with Max's VF-1J paint job. It's the one he's flying during his wedding.
-
I want some Regults more than anything. I've always loved it's "eyeball with chicken legs" look.
-
Don't forget.... Regults Zen Fighters Glaugs Nousjadeul-Gers Fan Racer Max's Virgin Road VF-1D

Nope, they're actually quite different. here's a pic from Valkyrie Exchange of the current DYRL FPs: here's the pic from above of the TV style FPs (also from VE): If nothing else, you should be able to see how the arm packs are different. Here's also a thread discussing the differences: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...t=ST&f=4&t=1295

Nice job Jason, looks good. I thought you hated that 1/48. J/K

Absolutely. It adds much needed weight to the toy overall and makes the Battroid mode look much better. A little fix for the micro-missles is to use a little bit of Elmers. It doesn't ruin the plastic, can be peeled off any time you decide you don't need it anymore, and how many of us are going to be repeatedly taking those tiny little missle on and off the rack, honestly? Personally, I like the color. Other than that, this review pretty much covers everything I think about these FP myself. Nice job Gene.
-
Wow kam, that looks great. Nice job, I like the Roy colors.

I heard my Banprestos singing this the other night. We are 138, We are 138, We are 138 We are 138, We are 138, We are 138 We are 138, We are 138 In the eyes of tiger Do you think we're robot clean Does this face look almost mean Is it time to be an android not a man The pleasantries are gone We're stripped of all we were In the eyes of tiger We are 138, We are 138, We are 138 We are 138, We are 138, We are 138 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8 Alright, I lied, my Banprestos don't sing and maybe they aren't 1/138 scale, but that's a damn good song and it's a number between 100 & 144. It's about robots too.....I think.......actually, I don't know what the heck that song's about.

I'm not brave (or rich) enough to experiment either. I've seen a couple 1/48 customs, but most of them look like the new colors could've just been painted over the old ones (except the heatshield, of course.) I could be wrong though. Off Topic: <---I like this little bug eyed ninja
