This might be an old question, but if HG/TP owns the animation rights to SDF Macross, and BW owns the lineart, than couldn't BW just say that DYRL was created from the line art (since so many plot and design elements were changed) and that all the sequels and prequels were derivatives of DYRL and not the TV series? IMHO there is very little that connects Mac plus, 7, and 0 to the TV series as far a design elements (example: In Mac plus, helmets, flightsuits, and the Macross itself all look like the DYRL versions and not the TV series ones). If accepted, wouldn't that kill any claim that HG has on the derivatives?

Why would you think they would do that when they just released the Fast Packs a month or so ago as a stand alone purchase? The Super/Strike Fast Pack accessories are much smaller than a 1/48 GBP would be.

What do we look like? Beady eyes, sweaty brow, hairy palms, big ears, recedeing hairline, little hands, and we smell like cabbage. Everyone of us, don't let the photos fool you.

[Ralph Wiggum] I bent my Valkyrie. [/Ralph Wiggum] Glad to hear that nothing broke, Rob. About a week after I got my 1/48 Fast Packs, my fully loaded 1/48 Hikaru took a 4 foot nose dive (I too was cleaning. I'll never make that mistake again ). Luckily, it too survived without any problems.

Well I'm glad you shared with us anyways. Thanks. That's a really cool piece. Nice job, kishimoto.

The one in battroid mode in the packaging is (edit:) either a bootleg or the original release by Bandai. The fighter mode ones are the reissues. Read above for the slight differences between the original and reissues. Read this thread for differences between the originals and bootlegs: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...=ST&f=12&t=2430

I'm pretty sure they're exactly like the original Fire and 17S, except for the packaging and the painted on stuff Anubis mentioned.

How many of you have been booted from RT.com

I voted "never been" but I have been, I just didn't really like it. It didn't give me the information I wanted. Just wondering, how would you know it's a lousy site if you've never been? -
I can think of at least two people on this board for whom that statement is untrue. Cyclone, who is an unrepentent Mospeada nut....and myself. I prefer Southern Cross. However, I love Robotech because it really is the only way that I will ever get to see more of my beloved series...though with the way that Tommy Yune is doing things...that might not be certain. Oh come on, your just being difficult. If the rest of what I wrote was left in, it's obvious that I was only comparing tha Macross Saga part of Robotech to SDF Macross and not the whole series w/ the SC and Mospeada parts. It's okay though, sometime I wake up just wanting to be difficult too. Personally, I wish HG, Toynami, and ADV had done the SC releases before the Mospeada ones. Personally I prefer the Mospeada stuff, but since we already have the Gakken toys/Imai models, and the only thing SC ever got were those ugly Matchbox toys and a few models, it would have been nice to see some better looking toys for that series. Plus, that's the order it should be in anyways. BTW RED DEVIL-Southern Comfort, Sloe Gin, Triple Sec, Lime Juice, Vodka, OJ, and Amaretto Some people call it a Red Death and some bartenders make it with banana booze and other liqueurs, but I like it this way.

I'd disassemble the toy and soak the metal parts in pine-sol. That should take the paint off really good. Make sure to wash off all pine-sol before using metal primer. Scuffing up the metal a little helps the new primer and paint hold better too. Good luck.

Ack, ewww, yuck.......I'll take the lint ball.

We can still do that........but you'll probably have to buy us each a 1/48 afterwords.

Well said and agreed, I editted out all OT and personal posts. edit: It was a pretty stupid argument to begin with and we both took it too personally.

edit: Let's keep this on topic

Honestly.... I don't see how this could be a reasonable explanation. I just fail to see how something like that would cause viewer confusion. Seriously.... ppl can't be that stupid to be confused with different credits in an intro sequences. Were IQs really that low back then? It was HGs choice on how to handle the crediting and the intro. I'm simply saying that certain "jobs" should have been credited.... main character design. You're right, that's not what I meant exactly, note my edit. But, it does bring up another point. Back then, creating titles meant a heafty expense in the editing room, now it's easy, but you had to rent a seperate piece of equipment to do titles. Creating one set of credits limits the cost during post-production. In other words, they were too lazy and cheap to do it the right way. The expense is only hefty compared to doing nothing at all. There's no way doing 3 variations of the opening and closing credits would be considered a hefty expense when calculated into the overall cost of the entire production.

I still don't see how crediting 3 or 4 key players from each series would have extended the credits by that much. They could have just scrolled through them a little faster, but what's done is done. Thanks for the explaination wrylac.

Primer, paint and clear coat or cover it with poo. You choice.

Yes. And it's true too, sadly. Public skoolz rawk! HELL YEAH BABY WORLD POWER OVER ALL Were such a bunch a dummies (10 yr old Americans) The really sad part is that most of those 10 year olds are probably smarter than most Americans adults. I can't think of any possible reason that can justify not giving any credit at all. What was their reason?

I like your explaination too WM. It's always nice when people to tell you "you got lucky". Thanks everyone for all your help. Now on to my next mystery.....

I like that explaination. I think I'll stick with it. Thanks Pat.

Not soon enough. The only things we got out of anything he posted was a few laughs and new nickname for >EXO<, .......and that was meant to be an insult.......I think.
