  1. Nah...most of us are nice guys (most of the time). I may or may not get one of these but I'll probably be watching on preorder night like everyone else and posting links when they come available.
  2. Yeah, slight bend upwards. If you look close enough like Chronocidal said, it's seems to be multiple bends...
  3. Well...you probably won't be able to secure one at the preorder discount BUT if you stick with us, you'll be able to secure one somewhere
  4. I'd say it's a valid concern and not silly for people with limited space though. The VF-1s at 1/48 are still a manageable size for most people, I think. It's a whole different thing when we're talking about expanding beyond the VF-1 to the other Valks which would be huge. VF-0 would be enormous, for example. When choosing scale, I would hope that Arcadia takes into account the feasibility of making a lot of different Valks in whatever scale they go with (not just the VF-1 and that's it). This includes all of the different color variations, head variations, and loadouts. Macross is strange because this is almost expected at this point. Not many other properties have fans who are willing to buy the exact same mold but in a slightly different color variation. At least not to the level that us Macross fans are accustomed to. The bigger the scale the harder it would be for us to see anything outside of the VF-1 and that's the whole point. 1/60 scale allowed them to go beyond just the VF-1. The problem with moving to any other scale is the existing "installed base" of 1/60 Valks. This goes for both Yamato and Bandai. The variety of Valks already available and existing in most collections is 1/60. I made this same argument with 1/72 scale. It's an uphill battle with buyer's existing expectations. There are still a lot of Valks I'd like to see in 1/60. VF-2SS, where are you? I think what would work is a one-off type of deal where they make a PERFECT edition with all the works and trimmings. They choose one scheme and that's it. No other variations. The Valk would have to be big and super detailed beyond anything we've ever seen before. It would be expensive but there would be only one version of it so most people would only feel the need to own one or two and that's it. THAT I would buy. A 1/48 VF-1S (preferably Focker DYRL but I'll take Hikaru DYRL), die-cast where applicable and where it makes sense, details all over the place, opening and removable panels that lock in place, include J and A heads (both versions of A heads!), include Strike packs (and conversion to regular Super packs -Focker scheme makes the most sense here), all missiles (individually removable), tampo prints all over, etc. Release the Full Armor parts later as a purchasable add-on and we're done. They don't need to release any other versions unless it makes sense financially. Let the fans complain all they want that their favorite scheme wasn't chosen...ONE VERSION. Let the community do fan mods if they want but there's only gonna be one version released and sold. Next obvious choice would probably be the YF-19 and Y-21. Then they would likely stop after those two.
  5. I am certainly not in this for the money. The only way I could ever get rid of these things is in dire emergency...and that's gotta be some serious shi*t for me to get rid of them!
  6. The 1/48 is my first Yamato ever so it holds that special spot in my collection...but it's big and that's it. Nice though!
  7. I own one 1/48 and that is the DYRL Focker. I also own the Stealth Strike Packs for it and it looks awesome with those packs. That said, I can't see myself buying more 1/48 since my collection is all 1/60 at this point. ...famous last words
  8. Still on the fence about this release because even with the improvements the Valk seems a bit wide/broad to me. I remember it being thinner in Battroid.
  9. I picked up one of three yesterday. Transformed her for QC checks and she's flawless. Noticed the wings are a little more loose than the Alto but it didn't fall off during the transformation. The scheme is MUCH nicer than Alto's so I don't regret getting three at all. I still can't figure out the leg swing bars though so there's a thing
  10. Things are afoot. Wait and see
  11. "...which, after deciphering the Engrish, sounds to me like there will be a variant head, which suggests that it will in fact transform." Whoever wrote that does realize that you can see the different heads on the VF-1 without transforming the thing, right? That gibberish doesn't really prove anything. Just me being nitpicky about werds... (yes, I'm pretty sure it's gonna transform)
  12. Aw now you dunnit! It's time for fisticuffs, good sir!
  13. Keep in mind the 1/48 scale never got past the VF-1, so the 1/60 scale was easier to swallow at the time. Look at all we have under 1/60 and tell me if it's easier to swallow a new scale this time round...
  14. To be fair, their prices are determined by their costs and their costs for a certain batch is ever changing and may be high. This is their MO. Of course, we can only guess at their margin...Their margin/profit will determine if they are actually over charging...semi-objectively, of course.
  15. Naturally people are voting for the incumbent because that is what they know. Unfortunately there was never a 1/72 line that was released along side the 1/60 so that people could vote with their money so we may never really know. Anything that we think now is gonna be purely speculation...however, going by what is currently out there (most collections are majority 1/60), people are gonna vastly prefer 1/60 and they are gonna want it to continue. If we're gonna play woulda-coulda-shoulda...1/72? Successful if released way back when? Maybe. Who knows? 1/72 released as things are the way they are now? Maybe...but not as likely because people are paying attention to their already big 1/60 collections from Yamato and Bandai. It's just the way it is.
  16. Gotta transform at least once to check the QC. You're only shooting yourself in the foot if you don't.
  17. Not alone! *bro fist*
  18. Voted 1/60, of course. To play devil's advocate, the poll is a little unfair because we have a ton of examples of 1/60 Valks already. We have very little to no examples of the equivalent in 1/72...and I'm talkin about toys here so don't go comparing with model kits. Is it confirmation bias? I don't remember much from the one Psychology class I ever took. I realize this is not a scientific poll...Jus' sayin'. Carry on
  19. I originally thought it was a re-release of the first version but in light of the new pics, I just might be in for one (only one though). I can't put my finger on it but something else seems off even with the changes shown. We'll see how I feel come preorder day...
  20. Need more 3/4 views without the armor in a neutral pose, I think...must admit the new pics have me on the fence now. (damnit!!)
  21. Better but still looks a little off So is this a renewal or what? Make me eat my words, Bandai!
  22. Gah! Anyhow, here's to hoping whatever is being released or announced is a good one
