At seventy odd dollars it's really tempting to pick up another...but space is limited and that could mean one less Valk that I actually want.

I vastly prefer Kawamori's way because you don't have things that don't make any sense like tank treads suddenly splitting apart or wheels & axels suddenly folding in half like Transformers. Valks transform the way we expect them to because they are designed for fighter mode first. If it doesn't make sense in fighter mode, then Battroid and Gerwalk reflects that. Valks will almost always have their engines in their feet because of VTOL and I like the wing backpacks and don't think of them as lazy at all. If a Transformer was to transform with a pilot inside, it would end up turning that pilot into paste. They are made to be robots first. Mass shifting is magic (as opposed to anime magic). Different strokes though...

It's been awhile but I always thought the VF-X was originally sold as a mail away through Macross Chronicle? It's just that it never sold very well that way so Yamato released remaining stock to HLJ and it eventually found it's way to BBTS (which is also where I got mine).

I agree I grew to like this 1J but it's at the bottom of the Valk pile!

Relax. He's not a Transformer's fan at all so that's understandable. I have mostly higher end Alternity/Masterpiece releases (500+ designs and the majority of them garbage to me) of TF with a few el-cheapo Hasbros and I agree about the Valk preference myself but that's just personal opinion (and we're on Macrossworld and not TFworld). I like Valks more period. In one of them hypothetical fire situations, I wouldn't grab any one of my TFs. Not one. I have a fleet of Valks I might end up getting severely burned for though

It would have to be a "One Valk To Rule Them All" thing for me. Make it so great and expensive enough that we all buy one (or two) at most. Include all parts, heads, colored panels so that we can customize into one of the main DYRL Skull squad members (and the 1J). My idea would only suck for the two seater fans unfortunately. We all know Focker/Hikaru are what they would concentrate on. The 1/60s worked for army building but something at 1/32 would be prohibitive so why not go all out? It'll never happen because of mold milking but we can dream in this thread

I like the Arcadia/Yamato way! Tape is the bane of my experience as a collector. I just watch for the creased flaps to determine if it is open or not and that works most of the time for me

Yeah they're just too Gundam for me. I'd want low viz or standard DYRL stuff. The underlying Valk is obviously Focker though...so that stays!

I really like the 171 despite the bad triangles. I have two Altos and three CFs! 171 with Elint won me over

He's pretty much consistently been the most popular release by Bandai, I think. He's top tier so buying an Ozma early is always a good move.

If it's big enough, they could be clever and engineer a way to swap out colored stripes so you can make any one of Skull squad. They might have to give us all four colored leg fins and vert stabs though (probably five if we want to make a Hikky 1J). How cool would it be to have all the heads swappable with something like this? I would be OK with a light up gimmick as long as it doesn't interfere with anything. I'd want ratchetted joints with solid but numerous detents though. Must have a smart use of diecast metal for this to work. My ideas would cost us all $1000 and put us in the poor house...but what a way to go

This was on my wishlist ages ago but I'd like them to include the DYRL Strike Packs. Focker is my drug of choice What's the next step up...1/32? Basically make it super detailed with sliding and locking panels all over to show the mechanics where possible. Give me all weapon loadouts. Poseable pilot if it's big enough. Give me the option to convert to Super Packs (just make em DYRL colors though). Edit: Oooooooh! All of the heads too! Must be Focker though and I don't care that he never flew a 1J head...I just want them all at once...never gonna happen (I know) BUT this is MY dream
