  1. Well, I was initially concerned about the them wobbling and falling over, but now that you mention it, I should consider them falling from the lack of grip as well. I got some "Glue Dots", but I'm a bit worried that they could damage the paint when I try to remove them.
  2. I just put together an Ikea glass diplay case and I want to start displaying some Yamato 1/60 and 1/48 Valks. The problem is I have the case on some pretty plush carpet and there can be a little bit of a wobble if someone walks near the case, even though it's strapped to the wall. I'm not worried about Fighter mode, as I have a few display stands. My concern is in Battloid mode, where the center of gravity is high and stability is quite low. Does anybody have any suggestions? I thought about some removable "glue dots", but I'm not sure they'll do the trick or if they'll harm the paint at all.
  3. Yeah, unfortunately I've already picked up all but the Kakizaki VF-1A GN-U at HobbySearch (which is why I asked about it). I payed a small premium, but the price was similar to eBay deals and they had all 4 in stock. I just couldn't resist a figure that looks this good and is so true to the line art (even though it doesn't transform). Toynami's 1/100 Valks were such a disappointment that I had to find an alternative when the Regults finally surfaced. I sure hope Toynami puts out a Glaug next.
  4. So you're micronian? I love your site! I just wanted to thank you for writing all your reviews. They've been immensely helpful in my recent Macross toy kick. I'm fully addicted, and can't wait for these two reviews to show up on your site. By the way, does anybody know where I can find the Kakizaki GN-U VF-1A?
  5. I think these would look great displayed alongside Yamato's GN-U Dou VF-1 figures. I've compared them with the Toynami 1/100 Valks and they're roughly the same size (even though they don't have an official scale), with a far superior appearance. Looks like I'm gonna have to order a few more Toynami Regults and set up the ultimate shelf battle!
  6. Fair enough. It sounds like a respray is the way to go. My next question; How much of the black should I sand off? Should I go just to the vertical line to the right of the damage, or should I respray the whole horizontal and vertical black lines? How close is the Tamiya paint to the factory spray?
  7. Thanks for the link, edwin. A little off topic, but is it still not advisable to put the factory decals on Yamato's? Does Anasazi37 or anybody else still make replacement decals for the 1/48's? I'm asking because I just recently picked up a Stealth VF-1J w/ SSP and a Woodland Camo VF-1A w/ GBP armor, and I wanted to display them with at least a few of the key decals. Naturally, I want to avoid the previous problems I had with the factory decals on my VF-1S, namely the low adhesion and the fact that they will peel paint if removed.
  8. Pardon me for being a newbie, but what is "over drive"? I've included a picture of the worst damage caused by removing the factory decals. Sorry for the low quality pic. I'll see if I can get my brother to bring his Nikon D60 over to get some better shots. There was also some paint removal on one of the tail fins, but the damage wasn't nearly as extensive as it was on the front of the Valkyrie and the new decals from Anasazi37 covered it up nicely. As you can see, the original "001" decal took some paint along the vertical edge of the black stripe. The paint can still be seen on the edge of the removed decal. Would it be feasible to order a new part for such a small blemish? Any thoughts are welcomed and appreciated.
  9. I thought about using a sharpie, but first that dry with a purplish tint to it? I'll post some pics when I get home.
  10. I need help! I've had my VF-1S for about 4 years and it's been on display, away from light but not covered, for two of those years. I made the huge mistake of applying the original decals when I first got the thing. Soon after I purchased a few sets of replacement decals from Anasazi37 and haven't attempted to apply them until now. Unfortunately, when I tried to remove the original decals, some took along with them some of the black paint they were applied to. Does anyone know the best solution for touching up this problem? I figured some model paint would work, but I'm not sure which kind and what shade and gloss. Any help would be much appreciated.
