I would so be in for a 1/60 Dark Bird and U.N. Headquarters Guard. I mean, why not? They've done every other Valk I can think of. The Dark Bird is particularly striking.

I'd have to disagree. Mine broke on the first transformation. In fact, I still can't separate the intake from the die-cast main body, even with the tab snapped completely off.

Does anyone know if Yamato is planning on re-issuing the VF-1D for sure? The way things are looking, I might not be able to get a replacement right leg, just a refund. I'm still in the process of contacting Yamato for a replacement, but I'd much rather have a version 2.1 with the new canopy and hip-connecting mechanism.

I thought that might have been the reason, I just wasn't certain. Thanks for the clarification, Shin Densetsu Kai. How should I go about releasing the part?

Yeah, I've tried prying it loose with a thin piece of plastic, but it just won't move. I'm waiting to see if the shop I got it from can contact Yamato, and see what they recommend. You can talk to GU-11 and Macross_Fanboy, as they've had the same problems with their recently purchased VF-1Ds. I've had experience with Yamato Valks before, and believe me, this is not a normal issue.

Yeah, the only reason it's bending inwards at all is because the intake is splitting down the middle. It's as if Yamato glued the intake to the main body. The thing just won't budge.

So, the upright peg on the intake is completely broken off on my VF-1D, but the intake still won't release from the die-cast main body. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Well, the upright intake peg on the right leg of my VF-1D just broke when I tried to angle it out (surprise, surprise). Does anyone know if Yamato has an English speaking customer service line? I'm not sure if the place I got it from is gonna be able to get a replacement for me.

I agree. I just opened up my VF-1D today and I couldn't discern whether or not the canopy had yellowed or if it was just the rainbow coating. I will tell you that the beige coloring on the Valk certainly looks different depending on the lighting. When I first saw it I thought mine was experiencing the "jaundice" affect. Still haven't had a chance to transform her yet. I'll keep you all posted. Still waiting on those comparison pictures from GU-11, since the VF-1D is the only Valk I have opened with the rainbow coating.

That's strange. I had just gone to Yamato's site before posting my last message and I used a link saying it would release 6/2010. Oh well.

Rats, I already have my VF-1D coming in the mail! Oh well, I would have only saved about $10. Man, where did I put that crystal ball?

Is the bundle pack really going to come with Hikaru and not with Roy or both? That means I'm going to have to pick up a set of TV Fast Packs (and the best deal I can find is almost $60 shipped) and grab the standalone VF-1S with Roy.

Nice decal action, drex. Are these decals anything like the ones that come with the 1/48s (i.e. cloudy color and low adhesion)? I can't wait to pull mine out of the box and put it on display.

That's a bummer, man. It did sound a little too good to be true, but I'm sorry to say I was right. The best deal I could find on eBay was $168 shipped, which is a better deal than I got.
