  1. At least it's a YKK zipper...anything else always ends up binding on me eventually . I'm just glad they made it so you can have the thing in gerwalk mode. I never thought I'd be buying doll clothes, but I'm definitely in for this one.
  2. If it's anything like Kurt's previous customs, it's up to the customer who commissioned the work to provide any decals he or she may want. That is, unless Kurt did these for himself.

    Yamato 1/60 VF-X

Definitely off-topic, but does anybody know when the 1/60 Angel Bird + Fan Racer is supposed to ship? I haven't heard from Tokyo Hunter yet.
  4. Well, since it's just a few pieces of cloth, hopefully shipping won't be too expensive. It'd be great if we could get a group buy for this in The Bay area...eugimon???
  5. Just picked one of these up at MPK in Bangkok for 2,450฿ (about $82). Is that about right, or did I get ripped off?
  6. Yes, do tell.
  7. Superb work, as always. I never thought I'd see a Jetfire Kurt Custom, but I must say, I'm very impressed.
  8. Although this is a general rule, it's not true in all cases. I picked up a 1/60 Hikaru VF-1A from AmiAmi that was supposedly a re-issue that released in early August, but unlike the re-issued TV VF-1A's, it has the old crotch system and a tinted canopy. According to AmiAmi, the only differences between it and the original release are that mine has a "chrome" tint to the canopy, while the original issue has more of a rainbow/dish soap effect. My only hope is that mine has the smooth pins, whereas the original release came with the knurled ones.
  9. GU-11 is correct. I have all 3 of the re-released TV VF-1A's, and all of them have the clear canopy (no rainbow or chrome tint) as well as the new crotch system, but the boxes are the same as the original release. The new version of the crotch system is much like the 1/48, where the hip bar just drops in and the cover is closed. On the previous/older crotch system the hip bar had to be slid up into place rather than just dropped in, so it had more of a learning curve. So the new crotch system is "much improved" compared to the older system because it is easier to lock in place but holds just as well.
  10. BUNK!!! Not a single Yamato Macross item
  11. Where are you seeing these prices? Either way, I know what you mean. I got my Hikaru 1A from AmiAmi when it was re-released in early August, and it still has the rainbow/chrome tint on the canopy and the old hip system. I was just hoping they'd reissue the 1S's since they already reissued Max and Kakizaki's 1A, and I know they have the new improvements.
  12. That, and are there any plans to reissue the 1/60 DYRL VF-1S's (Roy, Hikaru, and Max)? What about Hikaru's VF-1A?
  13. It's not like I MUST have the clear canopy, since a few of my Valks like the VE-1 and VT-1 have the rainbow tint, but I'd rather not pick up the current versions (especially at their inflated price) only to have Yamato reissue them shortly after with the new upgrades. As far as a good source for the VE-1 goes, besides eBay, I know there was one up for sale here on the MWF, but the box was a bit bashed up. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=34077 Graham, any insight on the VF-1S's would be greatly appreciated
  14. Any other thoughts...anyone???
  15. I totally agree. I have a 1/48 Minmay Guard Paris Act Custom by Kurt, and the Moon Act will be close behind. However, if Yamato came out with a 1/60 version I'd buy at least a few copies. I just can't get enough of the Minmay Guard theme. I'm also a huge advocate of Yamato producing 1/60 versions of the UN Guard and Dark Bird, but who knows if that will ever come to fruition.
  16. Shine it, I'm gonna tell him anyways! This seems right up his alley. I just hope he's a Mac+ fan.
  17. That would be all kinds of cool.
  18. I agree about the addendum, but I'm still on the ropes about whether to take the plunge on these VF-1S's, or to hold off for an uncertain reissue. I've already bit the bullet and purchased the VF-1S Low Vis, VT-1 and VE-1, since there won't likely be a reissue for them, but I'm really hoping Yamato plans to re-release these hero VF-1S's.
  19. I'm pretty sure the Anniversary VF-1S's have the smooth shoulder pins, but IIRC they still have the older style hip lock mechanism and rainbow tinted canopy. Can anybody corroborate this? I've tried to get some answers from Yamato about the reissues, but they haven't gotten back to me yet.
  20. I've got a small dilemma here, guys. I'm almost done with my 1/60 DYRL collection, and all I need are the VF-1S's. Most of my collection consists of the newest versions with the new hip lock mechanism and clear canopy, and I'd like to keep it that way, for the most part. Should I pick up the current VF-1S's (Anniversary Roy and Hikaru, and standalone Max VF-1S), or try my luck and wait for Yamato to reissue them with new upgrades?
  21. I must say, very impressive indeed. I'm almost tempted to order one, but I can't get over the floppy backpack, especially with the SP's on. That coupled with the high Jolly Roger on the heat shield, the lack of tampo on the leg armor, and the price, I think I'll stick with my 1/60 Yammies for now. However, It'd be nice to have one on the desk, and it should go well with Toynami's Vinyl Battlepods...I might break down and pick one up anyhow.
  22. That's quite a nice collection, Kicker. Where'd you get the decals for the 4th and 6th Production VF-19's?
  23. alchemo, did you purchase the Kakizaki VF-1A GN-U, or did you just paint one up yourself? MAN, those are CLEAN!!!
  24. Those GN-U's are gorgeous, alchemo!!! I wish I had your skills, because I've wanted a UN Guard and Stealth GN-U ever since I picked my figures up several months ago. Having the different 19's and 21's wouldn't be bad either. What kind of paint are you using, if you don't mind me asking? I might just try my luck with the extra YF-19 I have.
  25. Would it be asking too much to get a step-by-step procedure on the assembly for this figure? I'm not the most skilled modeler, so any pics and whatnot would be extremely helpful.
