What would the pundits say about this F-15SE being able to carry only 4 AMRAAMs if it wants to maintain it's stealth characteristics? Granted it's the same criticism leveled at the F-35.
-
I agree that this aircraft would be an very attractive option for the JASDF. Perhaps Boeing's answer to the Typhoon? I wonder if Australia is regretting buying the Super Hornet. ^^; Not that the Super Hornet is bad aircraft. Just that they too wanted the F-22 and this aircraft would seem to offer a bit more than the SHornet.

Other than the swingout rails and V-tail, I don't see how much stealthier this F-15 can be over the current Eagles. Perhaps a slight improvement for sure. But they must be exaggerating about equating the F-35's radar signature (even if it's just the frontal aspect). And wouldn't all this stealthiness be compromised just as soon as they hang something on the wings?

It's was my pic. Yes, the first one on the left is my Arii build. Next to it is a Bandai VF-1A. It actually says Bandai on the box. I was just wondering if the Bandai release was a re-release/copy of the Takatoku or a completely new tooling that has significant changes. I figure Jenius would know more about this. The angle of the pic makes the height differences a bit hard to gauge. I'll try to post one-on-one photos later tonight when I get home.

Isn't that really more of a Takatoku though?

Does Tekkaman Blade count as a robot anime? -
Since my place won't allow for airbrush use, all of my builds will likely be done the classic way. Brushpainting and the occaisional spraycan.

Hey I ruined 4 Gundam kits before I finally made one that was decent. Those 4 are now in my parts box. In fact, I used the hands from one of ruined 1/144 kits on this build. This Valk is only my 4th successful build. ;

1/100 scale Valks yesterday and today. I hope to add a VF-1 GNU, VF100s VF-1, and a built Imai kit into this lineup in the future.

Actually, the post office is right. The first thing you should do is contact the shipper/seller. They are responsible for the shipment and if you believe something is holding up customs clearance, contact the shipper and have them find out the reason for the delay. Their responsibilty does not end when it arrives in country. They are responsible until it arrives at your door. They are certainly responsible for customs clearance i think. Keep in mind, it's likely that certain packages clear through customs quicker than other packages. What items you purchased, where you purchased from, the value of the items, the shipment method, etc can all probably affect clearance time. You should contact US Customs only if you find out that the items has been wrongly confiscated by them. Don't jump the gun and assume it has been. First contact the seller and find out the story.

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.4

I recently purchased the Taito 1/665 Super Mechanics Yamato from them. No issues. They seem to be able to get a relationship with certain manufacturers as they sometimes have special versions that are unique to their shop. For example, a weathered version of the Queen Emeraldas spaceship model was supposedly exclusive to them or specially commissioned by them. -
Dude, those Gundam models need a serious bit of dusting.

If you're thinking of getting Ozma Armored, Anime-Export.com has a pretty good deal on it. Pre-order price of 15000yen plus 1500yen for EMS shipping. Much better deal than hlj's 18000yen price which doesn't include shipping. https://safe.anime-export.com/u_productpage...rodotti_id=4939 -
They're good to buy depending on what price you can get it at. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for each. Just don't expect much from these toys. The build quality is very low. That said, the toy is quite fun to play with. Lots of articulation and it transforms to all 3 modes quite solidly.

Thank you all for the kind words. There's room for me to improve my skills but I don't think I'll ever reach the god-like skills of some of the folks here at MW. Not a perfectionist and I'm too much of a lazy ass. MechTech, thanks for the tip regarding seamline removal. Sounds like a good idea. What grit sandpaper should I use? A high grit or low grit sandpaper? Yes, I too hate dealing with seamlines and sanding endlessly. But then that's all part of modeling.

After building a few Gundam kits, I decided try my hand at a Macross kit that requires some bit of work. But I didn't want to yet ruin a Hasegawa kit. So I went the safest route. A real cheap $5 1/100 Arii VF-1J battroid. I still don't have confidence to paint the whole thing so I cheated by using the given plastic color. All I did was paint a few places here and there then applied clear flat. ^^; Looks okay from afar but when you get closer you see this [kyaaa~] I'm also still learning how to take better pics with my camera. ^^;

Look what it says at the very bottom: Quick rough translation: BTW Although we are still in the midst of working with the factory, with this set's Ozma machine*, we want to do something about the head lasers and neck. We are receiving the input from all of you via customer response cards and such. It is true that there are things we can do and things we can't do, but we're trying very hard! * the Armor Pack Ozma VF-25 set -
Rightstuf.com has all 3 movies for $15 each. Buy them. They are absolutely worth it.

I'm not fond of audio gimmicks but I LOVE getting light up features. I'd definitely like to see running lights. Recreate that opening scene from DYRL. Lights for the thrusters and perhaps a main gun firing gimmick would be nice too. For $500, it ought to have at least a few gimmicks. At this size, light up features shouldn't be too hard to incorporate.

There are 2 reasons why I'll keep supporting this line. 1. The promise of getting all the Valks that were shown on the poster in one scale. 2. The scale. 1:100 is such a handy scale size for collecting. Btw I solved the sagging lower legs issue in fighter mode by supergluing it into correct form. I wasn't going to parts-form it into any other mode again anyways.

Such small scale collectibles are actually currently being fulfilled by "shokugan" (candy toys). Also often described as "trading figures" or "gashapon". Basically these are small scale plastic toys sold at convenience stores in Japan. One of the nice things about them is that they are usually in a specific scale (1/144 is most common). The bad thing about them is that they are blind boxed and the only way we get them here is buying them by the full set. You might be thinking about these : http://www.hlj.com/hljlist2/?searchpage=to...iable%20Fighter or this: http://hlj.com/product/HAP81075 Btw check these out if you're into Star Wars : 1. http://hlj.com/product/FTS60058 2. http://hlj.com/product/FTS60069

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.4
Vifam7 replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I don't know. I still get the feeling that this is just a ploy by Bandai to get the hardcore fans to commit early (aka. preorder) so they can first break even on the project by charging full price directly. Then they'll release the bundled packs widely at a later date and maybe lower price for the icing on the cake. Kinda like how I felt about AnimEigo releasing Macross TV on DVD. -
The number one complaint with the toy is the price. Perhaps the retailers or Bandai is hearing this and are making adjustments. I don't want this line to stop. It has potential. It just needs some time to mature I think.
