I would agree that the price should've been lower. Around 3000yen IMHO. 3500yen at most. 2000yen I think is a bit unreasonable as not even the tiny 1/200 HCMPro Gundams cost that low. This IMHO was the biggest failure of the toy. I could live with the other issues. A simple tab to fix the lower legs into correct position would've improved fighter mode significantly. Since there is no tab, I'm forced to use superglue and permanently lock the toy in fighter mode. orz

I can't argue with all the complaints regarding this toy. Yet, despite all the problems, I'm still buying them. Mainly for the 2 reasons of scale size and convenience of not having to build it like the 1/72 kit. Just a few simple fixes by Bandai could make this toy a lot better. I'm hoping Bandai is taking down notes and learning from these first releases.

I use Testors/Model Master enamels. Mainly because it's the easiest to acquire here in the states and because it works decently as a brushing painting paint (I don't have an airbrush and likely won't have one for the foreseeable future). Also tends to be compatible with Testor's own Dullcote clear coat lacquer.

There's been some comments from Japan stating that the reissue Alto has better paint application.

Regult - Since you live in HK, the most popular clear coat used over there in Asia is Gunze's Top Coat (both gloss and flat versions available as spray cans). Gunze's Top Coat is acrylic based so it won't affect any paint underneath (including Gundam marker).

I'm not angry or worried. Give it some time. I suspect we'll get a pre-built one in the near future. At double cost ofcourse.

Just unconfirmed speculation. Let's see what answers Graham gets. Even if it's M7 Dynamite only, there's still a good number of Valks there. I see Space Whale Blood color vers. VF-19P for the future.

I've read some comments from Japanese sites that Yamato has the gotten the rights to only "Macross 7 Dynamite". And that they were able to do so because it's an OAV (whose terms and conditions were separate and different from that of the TV series).

Thank you to both for the advice and comments. I was worried that white primer wasn't "strong enough" to cover red or blue plastic.

Can I simply use white primer to change the red plastic color of Gunpla to white? Or should I start with gray primer and then cover that with white paint? I'm wondering if it would be easier if I use white primer. Advice appreciated.

I'd like to think that Yamato is returning to the 1/72 scale. Or perhaps redoing that 1/100 VF-0. But I'd sooner believe in Yamato doing a VF-25.

The VF-4 will happen. It's just a matter of time. It's not only MW's most requested, it's also oft requested by many Japanese fans. Wild guess at the mystery 1/60 PT Valk mentioned by Graham -> VF-9. Only because Kawamori said he said he wanted to see a PT toy of it.
