  1. Ack. Sorry. How's this? Movie version DX.
  2. Yeah, the head laser pops off too easily. I don't know why but I had the hardest time putting Mikhail's 25 into fighter mode. It was a breeze with Ozma.
  3. Has anyone yet mentioned the latest movie color version? The color is different from the pale blue armor version I/we saw last time. It's now more low-viz. See pic on bottom left of page. http://www.toyark.com/news/attachment.php?...achmentid=10024
  4. Speaking of coming full circle, there are people out there who prefer vinyl. While digital media is far superior in terms of portability and storage considerations, there are folks who prefer analogue over digital because it doesn't suffer from lossy compression and can clearly tell the difference in sound quality without having high quality equipment.
  5. They hate it soooo much, they decided to be the main sponsor for the anime series.
  6. Thanks! The mystery is finally solved. I've always wondered where that rifle came from.
  7. Mine was the VF-1S version of this. Had the same wonky laser rifle (though kinda neat in a way).
  8. I don't think they're the girls from K-ON. Uniform is slightly different. The girl on the left needs browner hair to be Ritsu or Yui.

    VF-1

I'm proud to say that to date, I've only purchased one v1.0 1/60, one 1/48, and one v2.0 1/60. All of them VF-1A Hikarus. None of the other Valkyries. I have not succumbed to temptation. To the original poster: I recommend getting the 1/48 if that's the version you want to get. You can buy it at places like hlj.com and anime-export.com.
  10. Is this somewhat similar to the issue that Grumman had with the F9F Cougar? Like what is written here? Landing Condition Stall Problems
  11. Well if a Robotech live-action does miraculously happen, it likely will not feature the VF-1 designed by Kawamori. Even if it does, it means nothing for Yamato. Yamato has a license with Big West for "Macross" and its mecha. Robotech is a Harmony Gold product. Just because Robotech uses the VF-1 in the cartoon series or a new movie means nothing. Yamato has no connection or license with Harmony Gold and it's Robotech product. Any new Robotech product will be released by a maker of Harmony Gold's choosing. Highly unlikely to be a Japanese company like Yamato or Bandai.
  12. Where do I send my paypal payment for those videos!
  13. Any company that makes us continually spend 3 figures on a dang toy is evil.
  14. I think the poster meant he didn't care for the scale size of the Yamato toys, not the quality of them.
  15. Japan hasn't yet given up on acquiring the F-22 - http://www.japantoday.com/category/politic...2-fighter-hopes
  16. What I want is a realistic war story. A Macross "Band of Brothers" so to speak. Or perhaps even something like Gundam's MS Igloo series. Yes, darker and grittier. But not too much of the melodrama. I don't want one of those stories where every character seems to have emotional problems and is seen brooding, whining, shouting, wailing every other episode. And none of this Evangelion-like psychoanalytical mumbo jumbo.
  17. ff95gj, I like that 8th photo. The lights in the background look like the classic round anime space explosions.
  18. I wouldn't take that image as any kind of sample as to what the final product will look like. Besides, some of us have no access or qualifications to Captain's stuff.
  19. Reports from Wonderfest suggest that they're still working on it (the Tomahawk). The scale of the Tomahawk kit seems to have grown to 1/72. Looks like the release date is sometime next Spring. http://www01.amiami.com/amiblo/2009/07/wf_shizu/06.jpg

    1:18th Valk?

I could see an American company like Toynami doing a 1:18 diecast fighter mode only VF-1 or Legioss. Unlikely to be done by a Japanese company but not completely out of the realm. Afterall there was a 1:12 scale RX-78 Gundam made. Ofcourse it did cost about $3500 dollars before shipping! Yes, that's three thousand five hundred US dollars.
  21. I don't like the series but I've learned to love the Valkyries.
  22. It's a two-seater cockpit. Just to calm fears - it seems that it's the YF-25 kit PLUS advance movie ticket is what's exclusive to Famima.com. I suspect the normal release YF-25 kit will probably come out after the movie showings.
  23. Then again Valkyries were never shown in realistic schemes in the first place. I mean comeon, most of the Valk schemes seen on screen would be more fitting for air shows or aerobatic teams. In another way, the baby blue could actually be more realistic because RL military aircraft goes for the more faded low visibilty look than dark bold colors. Then again maybe this is all just pre-pro colors or it's just the lighting and won't look that bad in person. [shrug]
  24. GA Graphics says that all Side VF stuff will be in scale to each other. Specifically they'll be in scale in relation to the leading role mecha (ie. the VF-25). The Konig Monster is awaiting final approval from the licensor (BW/Kawamori).
