  1. Is it your car? Also, which BWM model is it?
  2. In case you didn't know, the letter from Yamato was not sent to your attention but to HLJ.
  3. I don't know what to make of the new packs. Need to see it in action to make up my mind. That said... in fighter mode, the twin cannons reminds me of the G-Fighter from Gundam. In battroid mode, it reminds me of something from Seed Destiny (like Infinite Justice with Strike's IWSP cannons)
  4. You have your math completely off. A Yamato 19 costs about $200. This VF-Hi Metal 19 will (supposedly) cost $70. The sculpt in my opinion looks decent. The lack of landing gears is the biggest negative IMHO.
  5. What's so damn difficult about adding an option to attach the landing gears!? I hope that what we're seeing are pre-pro models and they do somehow include the landing gears option in the final product. To me, landing gears on a Valkyrie enhances the viewpoint that it's fighter plane first. An airplane/Valkyrie needs to look good on the ground sitting on it's landing gears. I dealt with the fiddly bits and floppiness on the VF100s Messiah. At least it looks damn nice sitting on it's landing gears in fighter mode. Heck, it was like the best part of the VF100s Messiah.
  6. It's really nothing to be concerned about. In the 1st season of the show, the episodes were broadcast in non-linear order. Here's what happened - 1. Mikuru Asahina's Adventure Episode 00 Chronologically, this is the 11th episode. 2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I Chronologically, this is the 1st episode 3. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya II Chronologically, this is the 2nd episode 4. The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya Chronologically, this is the 7th episode 5. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya III Chronologically, this is the 3rd episode 6. Remote Island Syndrome (Part 1) Chronologically, this is the 9th episode 7. Mysterique Sign Chronologically, this is the 8th episode 8. Remote Island Syndrome (Part 2) Chronologically, this is the 10th episode 9. Someday In The Rain Chronologically, this is the 14th episode 10. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya IV Chronologically, this is the 4th episode 11. The Day Of Sagittarius Chronologically, this is the 13th episode 12. Live Alive Chronologically, this is the 12th episode 13. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya V Chronologically, this is the 5th episode 14. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya VI Chronologically, this is the 6th episode When the 1st season DVDs came out, all but one of the episodes was placed in chronological order. The one episode that wasn't was "Mikuru Asahina's Adventure Episode 00". When the broadcast of the 2nd season began, it included episodes from the 1st season and broadcast in chronological order. Like this - (in bold are the episodes newly created for the 2nd season) #01 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya I #02 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya II #03 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya III #04 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya IV #05 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya V #06 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya VI #07 The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya #08 Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody #09 Mysterique Sign #10 Lone Island Syndrome I #11 Lone Island Syndrome II #12 Endless Eight #13 Endless Eight #14 Endless Eight #15 Endless Eight #16 Endless Eight #17 Endless Eight #18 Endless Eight #19 Endless Eight #20 The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya I #21 The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya II #22 The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya III #23 The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya IV #24 The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya V #25 Mikuru Asahina's Adventure - Episode 00 #26 Live A Live #27 The Day of Sagittarius #28 Someday in the Rain
  7. At $70, it should be close to what the GFF Next Generation MSZ-008 ZII (http://hlj.com/product/BAN955903) offers. At least that's what I would expect. The GFF NG ZII got good reviews for the product itself. Definitely overpriced though.
  8. Dunno if this'll help but I recently found out that Gundam Marker Remover (thinner in a marker type pen) is pretty strong stuff. It stripped off the markings on one my Yamato VFC gashapons.
  9. More likely he found out that making the VF-25 toy was a bit more difficult than he thought. In fact he said so in a Figure Oh article.
  10. Interesting. The VF-19-kai may be the first in that line (or a prototype to it) since it's been reported to include diecast.
  11. How about the warden in the HK movie "Riki-oh"?
  12. No. More in terms that like Hindenburg, Zegin steadlily became a figurehead and someone ambitious like Hitler/Ghiren took the reins of actual power. How about the Roman triumvirate - Caesar, Pompey, and Crassus? You may be right. A very likely scenario. Generallly in such cases they follow who they've been following all along. So if a soldier has been under Ghiren's command all along, they follow Ghiren. In Gundam it did seem as if Ghiren, Kishiriya, and Dozzle each had their own commands and generally did not work with each other. It did seem like Dozzle was left hung out to dry too. Good points. My guess - military matters such as weaponry use was not an area Degin had control over (especially if he was just a figurehead). Or if he did know about the weapon, he simply gave consent of use - not necessarily exactly how it would be used. It possible Degin was moving on his own for the negotiations. IOW, totally separate from Ghiren's command. It's possible that Ghiren's command simply didn't talk with Degin's command. As I wrote above, it possible that each sibling/family member did not cooperate with each other. Each operating autonomously - only fighting together loosely against the Federation. Quick to backstab one if convenient. It's possible that the commander of the armed forces was Ghiren, Kirshiya, and Dozzle. Each with their own commands. Degin being just a figurehead or leader with no real power other than being the father of 3. Speaking of which, Tomino's stories often feature disfunctional families - with some kind of message regarding it. Things like this is an area where fans and fan writers love to fill in the blanks. All this nitty gritty stuff is often not explained in most anime. Perhaps (IMHO) for the better? It at least makes for good discussion doesn't it?
  13. It could also be a situation similar to how Hitler came to power as Chancellor even though the Weimar Republic had the aging President Paul von Hindenburg. My own theory is that Zegin simply handed the responsibilities of Zeon to his children - giving each one a piece of area to control. In a sense, although Degin was the supreme leader, the actual control of the day-to-day operations, inner workings, and especially the military of Zeon was held by Ghiren, Kishiriya, and Dozzle. Ghiren being the most ambitious and the eldest of the siblings would likely be the head honcho.
  14. Not likely. Yamato charges 28,000 yen (around US$300) for the 33cm tall 1/24 Ingram. I'd be a bit concerned if the SDF-1 was bigger yet cheaper than an Ingram IIRC what Yamato said is that they wanted to keep the price at around 50,000yen ($500 if $1=100yen). What the reality will be is still likely up in the air. Though chances are they'd likely come close to the 50,000 yen price.
  15. NIIIICCCEEE!! Love the photo of P-38 at take-off. In terms of sound level or harmony? In terms of harmony, I think the Merlin engined Mustangs and Spitfires are the best.
  16. Actually they could make the yellow parts gray and technically still call it a Roy Fokker 1S. The number on the side (001) will identify it as Fokker's ship of Skull Squadron. Like how real life US Navy planes are. Navy planes have this thing called a modex. Modexes ending in 01 are the squadron's commanding officer's aircraft.
  17. If anyone wants a copy, PM me. I have one to sell.
  18. How about a series about the cannon fodders? A series in which the pilots are flying the worst Valkyrie ever fielded by the UN Spacy. Forget about a cool name like "Excaliber" or "Messiah". This Valk is called "Widow-maker". A Valkyrie that has trouble transforming from one mode to another because the system is glitchy and the structure warps under high Gs. It's super packs having a tendency to blow off or blow up if pushed too far. The arms breaking off in battroid mode due to vibration from the gunpod. Hovering or skimming the surface in Gerwalk mode being dangerous due to faulty exhaust design and poor weight distribution. And other maladies! This way, when the next toy from Yamato, Bandai, Toynami, or whomever has QC and design issues, we can all agree that "THAT'S THE WAY IT WAS IN THE ANIME!" Each episode has a different main character pilot. Each episode ends with pilot receiving the highest UN Spacy military decoration. Posthumously. (a way to milk the mold!)
  19. Good points. Other points to consider - 1. Anime was never really that popular to begin with and whatever boom it got several years ago was nothing but a passing fad for the good majority. 2. The number of fans who financially support the industry (ie. buy anime products) was never that large and perhaps now decreasing.
  20. The non-scale VF-0A is polystyrene. So is the upcoming 1/100 VF-1 snapfits.
  21. It says here that the kit will come with "effect parts". What this "effect parts" is is anyone's guess. A flying Ranka perhaps. Oh, another thing to note is that - it says "based on the movie version".
  22. With enough engine and computing power, you can pretty much fly anything. In fact, most of today's fighter planes are aerodynamically unstable. Meaning that - without the engine and computer, a fighter like the F-16 is just a brick.
  23. I don't think it's right to call their actions "sneaky". It could just as well be called smart reorganization. I don't know enough of these proceedings to determine one way or another. But a lot of fans have had strong opinions on ADV and so some hope this leads to betterment while others are disappointed they didn't disappear altogether.
  24. I forget who said it - "Give me a big enough engine and I can make a brick fly"
  25. After seeing the Family Mart VF100s VF-25 (here), someone joked abut a 7-11 version. Well 7-11 didn't go the Macross route. I don't really care for the GFF, the HG kit, or the gashapons. However, that EX Gunperry kit is awesome.
