I'm surprised noone has yet mentioned this ship:
-
Note the text on Yamato's site: Basically it says that the kit is non-scale. However, it's designed so that a 1/60 VF-1 battroid-sized Zentradi soldier can fit inside.

And then there's Spaceballs Speaking of which - Space Ball 1

Here's a starship that I thought was pretty cool back in the day. And how about this starship from another old anime.

When it comes to fictional aircraft and starships, I like just about anything that follows the Space Battleship Yamato-line of thought. Which basically comes down to the following elements - - a warship that follows the with gun turrets or a broadside gun battery - a warship that clearly distinguishes which side is up and which side is down - aircraft with a canopy or windshield, wings, and landing gears with wheels Among my favorite space fighters... Cosmo Tiger II CoreBooster Fighter-1 and Fighter-2 Too bad these fighters weren't highlighted in Gunbuster

The MW Automotive Thread Quattro SpecV
Vifam7 replied to areaseven's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Hopefully soon. The word Macross shouldn't be associated with such an ugly car. -
You mean the weight gain by the F-35? If that's the case then couldn't PW later also say something like "We expected some weight gain on the F-35 and our engine was designed to be ready for it. The GE engine doesn't have enough thrust!". ?

Pardon my ignorance regarding the Mustang (particularly this 5th gen) but what's so special about the Boss 302? I mean in comparison to the GT and GT500 models (considering it falls somewhere in between in terms of horsepower)... or is that the idea? -
The "Cosmo Cleaner D". The radiation cleaning device that the Yamato crew went out to get in the 1st series.

Looks terrible. I agree that none of the colors and patterns are really that appealing. Though, if they make the colors and patterns on every ship uniform, it might help. Btw, what's the name of their aerobatic team?

Don't bother buying it via Ebay. Buy it at HLJ and use their 50% off FedEX shipping. http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00188 HLJ's price is pretty much MSRP. There aren't many deals out there for this toy.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v3.0
Vifam7 replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Maybe one. Maybe two. The 2nd one is more of a background sub-plot so it probably doesn't count. The one that seemed to have died did not get say any final dramatic goodbye words, so I would say the character survived. But then again, the character was thoroughly under-developed so honestly it's like "huh, whatever". -
What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v3.0

I just finished watching Yamato: Rebirth. It was bad. Really really bad. I thought Final Yamato was bad. This was even worse. There were some interesting sub-plots which could've been the main focus and used to tell a more coherent story, but no. Instead they decided to reuse plot devices from prior Yamato works and tell a lame story that ran at breakneck speed. The animation was okay. Some of the details were well done. But whoever was in charge of music creation & choreography should be shot. -
Would any of you accept a cheaper plastic kit release? I'm talking about a Gunpla-ish pre-colored snap-fit plastic kit. Detailing to be done by you with stickers or decals. Still at 1/60 scale but without many of the gimmicks (thus making it easier to build). And let's say priced around US$80? Kinda like the recent 1/48 Gundam kit.

Macross was extremely popular too. The difference is that Zakus look cool and Regults do not. Yes, some of us think Regults are cooler but the general view is that Regults look like fugly enemy mecha. And very few are going to say the Regult looks cooler than the hero mecha - the Valkyrie. Whereas in Gundam, there are quite a number of fans who think the Zaku is cooler than the RX-78 Gundam. That's how popular the Zaku is.

Earlier in this thread I wrote: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=33069&view=findpost&p=850675 So, yes, not all hope is lost for Yamato releasing a toy of the Regult.

Did anyone else think that this show would be a whole lot better if dubbed in English with proper lingo used? Normally I'm anti-English dub for Japanese productions, but in this case, considering the characters and setting/setup, an English dub would be welcome.

Whether to sticker or not is an issue I'm facing with my current build of Bandai kit. Also wondering how much decaling to do on the Hasegawa kits. One thing I definitely won't do is the "No Step" markings. Not only because it's painstaking but I also think that a mecha that's supposedly expected to occaisonally do close-quarters combat shouldn't have weak spots where even a Micron can't step on!

Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002

If I recall correctly, I think that 1/35 RX-78 was only available for retailers who wanted to use it as a display piece.- 6025 replies

Yamato : With their GNU and VFC lines dead, I'd like to see them try again in the smaller size stuff. Bandai: Hopefully, confirmation of a new Macross kit. Like a 1/72 VF-171 kit. Or a bunch of 1/100 scale fighter/single mode only kits.

I don't know... I like the sculpt of the SOP release better. But if this one features a lot of diecast metal, I might spring for it.
