  1. Heck even the blurb in the article says something like "versioning up from the VF-25 to the VF-27 to now the YF-29". Where's my 1/72 scale model kit Bandai?
  2. Currently... 1. Anything written by Adachi Mitsuru. When it comes to subdued non-melodramatic high school romance plus sports (usually baseball), Adachi Mitsuru is a master. 2. Captain Alice by Takada Yuzo. About a female airline pilot who seems to have a knack for piloting out of the worst mechanical mishaps. Takada Yuzo seems to know a lot about piloting and the mechanical details of jet airliners but I can't tell for sure on the accuracy since I'm not a pilot or jet engineer. 3. Anything written by Ujiie Tozen. His 4-panel manga (like Seitokai Yakuindomo) never fails to give me a chuckle. 4. Working!!, K-On!, Minami-ke, Keroro Gunsou, etc. Manga with humor tends to be my current preference. Many have already become anime but I always favor the manga. Mainly because I read them long before the anime comes out.
  3. My recently completed Franken-GM.
  4. Not the Harrier II Plus with the APG-65 radar?
  5. I don't have a DX so I don't exactly know what the cause is. My guess would be that there is some kind of mold release left on and thus doesn't allow any friction. However, with regards to loose joints, I've found that for most toys, dropping a teeny bit of superglue into a joint will fix things up. Just apply a bit of superglue and move the joint around for a few seconds while the glue starts to harden.
  6. Rather than a new intake, couldn't the F-16 use a new larger wing? With increasing number of things hanging and now CFTs on the back, it can't help wing loading. Dunno how difficult it'd be for LM to bring back the Agile Falcon or F-16XL though.
  7. Still better than the time back in '94 when they took him to McDonald's. That was when he drew up the Fire Valkyrie.
  8. Just plain water. The technique works well with Bandai stickers (such as those that come with the VF-25 kits) as well.
  9. That's what I said when the first pics of the Fire Valkyrie were shown back in 1994.
  10. The one from 2007 is the 1/350 scale kit. This one: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN946749 There's a new 1/500 scale kit that was just released this month. This one: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN965514 Check out all the pics on HLJ! Here's also the promo sheet from Bandai on the 1/500 kit: http://www.bandai.co.jp/press/images/3/59469.pdf
  11. I saw that page. The Yamato and Andromeda are small gashapons. However,in your scans there's also mention of the 1/500 scale Yamato kit. That's the Yamato I want to spend on. The sculpt on that one is the best (IMO). Pre-colored and snap-fit like most Bandai kits. Will buy it just as soon as I clear out some of the kit building backlog...
  12. One could potentially explain this by the fact that the Gaplant pilot (Rosamia IIRC) was an "Artifical Newtype" (aka. Cyber Newtype / 強化人間 in Japanese ) and not a pure Newtype like Camille. Plus there are differing levels of Newtype capability in the Gundam universe. Camille is considered to be one that has more Newtype ability than others.
  13. I don't recall any of that in the UC Gundam series. Must be a SEED or 00 thing. Don't like the forward swept wings on the YF-29.
  14. Thanks! A bit spoiler-ish though... Hmmm... Mori Yuki is quite different character this time...
  15. Agreed. They look like something from Hollywood. Oh well, here's hoping the execution of the movie is better than the mess that was Yamato Rebirth.
  16. Gamu toys has a review on this : http://gamu-toys.info/goukin/gouki/vf100s/vfhimetal06/vfhimetal0601.html According to his review, the backpack boosters aren't floppy (as some of us were fearing) due to a locking mechanism.
  17. Who cares about design, which side offered the lower bid? That's the one I'll pick.
  18. I think the GT-R looks good. At least it's not trying to ripoff the looks of a European sportscar. On a separate note, Top Gear USA just aired. Saw it. The studio portion needs more work. The Lamborghini piece was excellent. For a first episode, I thought the hosts had good chemistry.
  19. More of a ripoff of 633 Squadron IMO. The Star Wars "trench run" also comes from this movie.
  20. The original post mentioned "court martial". Which doesn't apply to a civilian. Yah, in the real world, both of them would be in a world of trouble. But ofcourse this is why I enjoy fantasy movies and anime.
  21. Applies to Chappie but not Doug. Ofcourse this kind of stuff (ie. snot-nosed kid jumps into military mecha) happens all the time in anime. I actually liked Iron Eagle 2 for the sheer fact that they showed F-4 Phantoms. However, to think of them as Soviet airforce "MiGs" was indeed ridiculous. It might've made more sense to use IAF Skyhawks.
  22. Much of this does not apply to legit companies like HLJ (and likely Amiami, etc). It mainly affects individuals to who use stamps or go to the post office to ship.
  23. Probably the easiest and least expensive option is to make the Sound Booster unit or some other add-on into a mini-speaker system with simple phono plug to connect your iPod. I think if it's anything more complex, it'll end up being a high-priced web exclusive.
  24. I say make the lineart accurate SDF-1 and... charge triple that of the DYRL version to recoup the costs! Make it web exclusive too.
  25. By the time it was fully developed, I would imagine it would've been up-armored, up-engined, and up-sized. I think the ARES was a good idea. Probably more suited and cost-effective to the CAS role than the F-35B. Particularly for COIN missions in low-intensity wars, like Afghantistan.
