  1. A lot of what's written in English is mistranslated or misinterpreted. The English notes are written in a definitive tone, while the original Japanese is not. The Japanese text says nothing about less MG releases. Nor does it say that there wil be no more Gundam X kits. Bandai didn't say there won't be a PG Unicorn. The reporter simply thinks it's unlikely due to the economy. And Bandai didn't say anything about a "wait and see" for Delta Gundam. The reporter simply says that a release is not yet confirmed. However, the MG Delta Plus was created with the Hyaku-shiki v2.0 and Delta Gundam in mind.
  2. This one? http://ameblo.jp/frog52/image-10433191660-10374408153.html Best pic I can find on the web.
  3. That's pretty much the right way to do it. The difficult thing with dry transfer decals is getting things like numbers to line up straight. Like if you wanted to put your favorite two or three digit number on the shoulder, it's like impossible to get those dry transfer decals to line up straight. Much easier with water transfer decals. On the other hand, water transfer decals need a really smooth surface and if you paint with flats, it means an extra step of applying gloss clear before putting on decals. Which (IMHO) is a pain in butt particularly with Gundam models that have lots of pieces, angles, curves, sides, and corners. Thanks to my crappy skills I sometimes end up missing a spot. >_<
  4. Except it says : "How about a resin kit for a change?"
  5. Some of my favorites have already been listed so I'll add two other faves - Area 88: Act III (Suna no Illusion) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFanGEsKDO0 Metal Armor Dragonar - 2nd opening (Starlight Serenade) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zABrITb2nKQ
  6. Aren't all military weaponry feminine? It's always "she's a beauty". Ship captains, pilots, tankers, machine gunners etc. They all call what they control/command in the feminine form. However, if were just talking aesthetics, both the VF-1 and VF-25/YF-29 are obviously male. Look at the schlongs they have! Unless you want to say they are dickgirls...
  7. Something new will probably be shown at the upcoming Shizuoka Hobby Show.
  8. That's probably because the origin of the character designs for Unicorn began with Yasuhiko Yoshikazu. Personally I think the character designs in Unicorn are pretty good. I would've preferred Yaz's designs to be directly used (like in F91 <- best ever chara designs in Gundam IMPO) but I guess his style might not work well with animation style being used in Unicorn. I don't think Yutaka Izubuchi did do the chara designs for Rahxephon. He doesn't do a lot of chara designing. (checks ANN). It was Yamada Akihiro.
  9. I'll never watch those Votoms sequels. NEVER. Even though I'm a big fan of the original series. Currently watching MariaHolic Alive. Worst OP theme song ever.
  10. It's not so much that he's a likeable character but rather that he's a very interesting one to study in terms of his personality, actions, and motivation. I remember reading somewhere that in a different anime Char could've easily been the hero character but not so in Gundam. He's good looking, charismatic, has the memorable cool lines/dialogue, gets to dress fancy, gets to upgrade to a new mech every so often...he's the cool guy and the antithesis to Amuro. Some have theorized that, at the core, Char is a kid who never grew up. And that, that's why Char acts the way he does and why Amuro is the hero (because Amuro grew up to be an adult).
  11. Tesla sues Top Gear http://www.wired.com/autopia/2011/03/tesla-sues-top-gear-for-libel/
  12. I like to imagine what kind of uproar/controversy Zambot 3 could cause if it were aired today in a kid's timeslot or channel.
  13. Has anyone tried the "superglue friction joint fix" on their DX toys? Dunno if it'll work on DX toys but the superglue trick seems to work on friction joint looseness on many other toys.
  14. Accidents are nothing really surprising for test programmes. The F-111B failed because the requirements for it were formulated before experiences in Vietnam. Vietnam experience told both the navy and air force that more agile fighters are needed. Thus the requirements changed to the point where the F-111B was no longer suitable. Ofcourse it probably didn;t help that the Navy hated having an air force plane hoisted upon them. The F-111B probably would've been just fine as a Phoenix missile shooter (which was its original requirement).
  15. If one deletes the swing-wing feature from the Tomcat, then I would think the whole structure of the aircraft needs to change. I'm no aerodynamist but logically speaking you just can't slap FSWs on an aircraft and say it's done - especially, I would think, to an aircraft that was specifically designed for the swing wing. At best the only part from the original Tomcat you could probably use is the forward fuselage. For the time and work needed to convert a Tomcat to a FSW aircraft, it would more than likely be easier and cheaper to start from scratch.
  16. It doesn't say. Hopefully not.
  17. Of all the alternate universe Gundam series, personally I thought Gundam X was the best. I'd even say that Gundam X was a much more enjoyable series than any of the other 1990's Gundam TV series (including the UC continuity Victory).
  18. You have nothing to fear about. Both Amiami and HLJ are located far away from the Fukushima nuclear plant. The radiation levels are currently only a concern at the immediate vicinity of the Fukushima plant. Stop listening to those fear-mongering idiots on TV and radio.
  19. Just go to google.com and there's a link that allows one to donate to the Japanese Red Cross. I donated. Let's all try to help.
  20. My story is somewhat similar to mikeszekely above. My first car too was a Mirage ('01 coupe). I purchased it back then because I needed to buy a reliable Japanese car and the price/financing for it was good. At the time I knew nothing about the Evolution cars. Fast foward 8 years to Fall-2009 and I was looking to upgrade to a 4-door hatchback or sedan. After looking at numerous cars, it came down to either the Lancer or Subaru's Impreza. By this time I knew about Mitsu's EVO and Subaru's WRX, but they never really factored into my decision making. It just so happened that the Lancer and Impreza fit the type of car I wanted. I was really considering to buy a non-turbo Lancer. I too liked my Mirage so I was a bit partial to Mitsubishi. But in the end, things just worked in favor of Subaru's Impreza (which I ended up buying). I never considered buying the EVO or WRX. Daily driving of a gas-guzzling turbo in NY traffic does not make sense.
  21. EVOs get publicity but they're not exactly practical cars and I doubt they are Mitsubishi's highest-selling money-making car. In order to make money, they've got to sell cars - and it seems that EVs and hybrids sell. I guess they also need to stay with the other makers in terms of EV/hybrid technology.
  22. It's a sign of the times. I'm not surprised. The future is in EVs and hybrids. Even moreso now with the MidEast in turmoil. I wouldn't be surprised if the WRX/STi dies in the near future.
  23. No toys. Though I do have various autographed Macross items like books, CDs, and T-shirts that I'd never sell.
  24. I really don't mind if Hollywood does Starblazers. If they can redo Battlestar Galactica, they can redo Starblazers. It's not as if Starblazers is sacred - it was already an Americanized edit job. Besides, chances are, the movie is going to end up being so vastly different from the Starblazers cartoon series or for that matter Uchuu Senkan Yamato, it'll likely be considered a whole different thing (like the Transformers movies). I'll give it a chance so long as Michael Bay doesn't come near this movie.
