Found during internet surfing - Super Dimension Combiner VF Robot! I'll let someone else translate the text.

You might as well ask whether Bandai should've bothered to sponsor the Macross Frontier anime.
-
I hate Basara, but I did buy a VF-19kai. I'm planning on replacing the Basara figure and decaling the fighter in a non-Macross fashion.

It's certainly the whitest (Macross or non-Macross) HCM I've ever seen. Hopefully it stays that way. Is the HCM Valkyrie still highly prized by Macross fans? Before Yamato, it was kinda like the holy grail of Macross toys.

I have a Subaru. Not a WRX though. Don't need turbo for daily commute in NY.

Bandai 1/72 fully transform able VF-1 plastic kit for Macross 30th Ann

It'll probably be base color only because it'll be too difficult to mold-in the trim colors for all the variants. -

I need a better scan! There's something written about those AOA probes on the nose... has it been deleted? -
Most of them but not all of them. Hikaru's DYRL VF-1A, Kakizaki VF-1s, and VF-1 cannon fodders don't seem to hold their value too well.

How about this cat?

IMO, there isn't really a display case that's good for both all 3 modes. You have to pick one mode. I've used these in the past for my 1/72 F-14 and F-15 models. http://www.amazon.com/Aircraft-Display-Case-48-Imex/dp/B000GKXWKY/ref=pd_sim_sbs_t_2

Are those the provided stickers or a specially made waterslide decal set?

You have a point. It could be argued that Macross fans are mainly limited to 30+ year old oyajis and there's no reason to pander to the younger folk or even try to garner more of them in.
-
The only point that I might understand from jwings is that, perhaps without a lower cost option alongside Yamato's high end toys, Macross may continue to have trouble garnering as much fans as Gundam or even Evangelion. Which means new productions of Macross anime will continue to be few and far between, Macross toys will continue to be expensive in comparison to toys of other franchises and the variety of ware never fully complete because other than Yamato, most other manufacturers are less dedicated or simply don't do Macross toys. And if Yamato won't do it, we're kinda out of luck. If Macross is to thrive, I think it would help to have toys that are more accessible. That doesn't mean end the high end toys. What I mean is having a Hi-Lo Mix. High end toys for high end collectors and lower cost toys for those who have lower budgets (young kids, HS students, college students).

Nobody is saying Yamato (now Arcadia) should make cheap crap or stop making the 1/60 series. I have no doubt that Yamato can make a smaller less expensive toy but still be of good quality and detail.
-
Bandai never had the intestinal fortitude to go all out with the Hi-Metal line. Plus they started out on the wrong foot with the VF100s line, botched the Hi-Metal Fire Valk, and never recovered. Nobody really cares about Toynami.
-
I'd like to see Arcadia (ex-Yamato) try their hand at making less expensive Macross toys though. Perhaps take over where Bandai left off with the 1/100 Hi-Metal line.
-
1/72 scale is hardly "tiny". The Bandai VF-1 is a model kit. Not a completed toy figure. Completely different thing from Yamato's products. Frankly, I'd relax folks. Just because Yamato changes names doesn't suddenly and necessarily mean all the toolings for their 1/60 series disappears forever.
-
I have no doubt that Yamato in its new name Arcadia will continue to produce Macross toys but I get the feeling that we may not be getting it the way we become used to.
-
Was there anything at Wonderfest? The Arcadia website front page says they'll be showing (today) a VF-1 designed by Tenjin plus their lineup for 2013. .

Looks like many of the Japanese figure makers are jumping on the Avengers wagon. What scale are those Dougram kits?

Probably air data probes. You'll see them on real life F-16s and F-18s. Btw, the Bandai Hobby site has been updated with new CAD pics. (http://bandai-hobby.net/site/character_macross.html) -
That's probably not going to happen as Origin is going to be a TV series.

If I recall correctly, the VF-25/27 kit designer transferred over to the Collectors Division to work on the Renewal Chogokins so I'm guessing he (and Kawamori) were making improvements with each go around.
