Well, if it's not selling well and there's lots of unsold stock, perhaps we'd be seeing a restock at HLJ very soon with the "one per customer" limit lifted?

At least the F-16 is a fast jet and has a semi-reclined seat. Must be utter hell for A-10 pilots in their uber-slow jets to go across the pond (ie. cross the Atlantic). A-10s cruise significantly slower than the average widebody...

Not sure if it was on Airwolf but it was definitely in the third Iron Eagle movie as a fictional Messerschmitt jet.

United Airlines is moving up the retirement of their 747s. http://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/flights/todayinthesky/2016/03/08/united-buys-more-737s-plans-retire-747s/81472534/ While it's an understandable move, I just hate that 747s are becoming history in much of the world's passenger airliner fleets.

I've never heard of 1/20 being a popular scale. What's in 1/20 scale? Perhaps you're confusing it with 1/24 scale? Personally, I think it should be 1/18 scale to fit in with some of the pre-built aircraft model stuff out there or 1/12 scale to fit in with their own figma action figures line.

I highly doubt that the profits will be collectively distributed. No company would ever agree to such a term. I believe this is a licensing strategy by Big West in which they spread out the license so that each company can get a piece of the pie but don't have to pay expensive licensing fees since what they can make is carefully defined.

The problems I see with that (in relation to STOVL aircraft) is the following - 1. The amphib carrier typically only carries like 6 F-35Bs. 20 at most if the helos are eliminated. Better than nothing but really, that isn't much to work with IMHO (particularly knowing that fixed wing air ops on an amphib is nowhere near that of an actual carrier). 2. In any amphib operation, I would assume a supercarrier and its aircraft (that are far more capable) will also be involved in supporting the troops. So why the need for a handful of jump jets on an amphib? 3. Any major operation is going to be an all-out joint operations warfare. Meaning... Marine Corps troops on the ground isn't restricted to getting air support from just Marine aviation. So again, why need a handful of jump jets? Just so a few Marine jets are real nearby on an amphib? I don't know, I'm no expert, but the whole idea of jump jets seems like a complete waste of money to me.

(without facts or figures to backup my claim) I blame 2 factors for the delays and costs inflation. 1. The F-35B variant. The STOVL variant alone probably contributed the biggest airframe compromises. I just don't understand the USMC's infatuation with STOVL and the need to have them on their amphib. carriers. Same with the Brits. Why operate STOVL jets from a decently sized carrier (HMS Queen Eliz)? 2. The desire to incorporate every last state-of-the-art techno wizardry into the airframe from the beginning. Why not deliver the F-35 with off-the-shelf components and leave some room in the airframe for the eventual upgrades? Perhaps that could've mitigated the delays, cost overruns, and bad press? [shrug] Just some thoughts.

Nice review. Thanks for putting the Toynami next to it. I was wondering how it compared size wise. Color and detail are obviously very different.

Apologies for trying to ruin a boy's dream. If it's any consolation, I've dreamed that GD had won the ETF competition with the F-16XL.
-
Even if the YF-23 had won the competition, I doubt a YF120 engined Tomcat would've ever happened. The Navy had already wasted its time and money on the A-12.

Reminds me of my experience of a Concorde take-off when I was working at JFK. Yep, you not only hear it, you feel it!

Acknowledgement. As if to confirm Tochiro's point, the reviewer in the video pans DYRL for not having the content that the SDFM TV series had.- 1147 replies

It's due to the Alternate Fighter Engine program. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/systems/afe.htm

The decal sheet that's been shown is the one that only comes with the 2-mode bundle. Hard to say right now what the non-bundle kits will have. Gimix kits have never come with stickers so if decals are provided, it'll be the waterslide type.
-
I've purchased a ton of Phantoms, Eagles, Raptors, Ospreys, and various accessories from the Gimix line. They are so freaking awesome, I can't wait for the Macross ware. I'm prepared to buy doubles of everything. As for detachable turrets, that's the kind of simple gimmick that i wouldn't be surprised to see in this line (hence the name 技MIX - 'Gi'MIX).

It's not likely to be a sticker. Maybe water slide decal but more likely that the lettering is already tampo printed on. Which means you'd have to find a way to remove the tampo printing or completely repaint the gunpod.

Deadpool, on DVD/Blu-Ray May 10, 2016
Vifam7 replied to miles316's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
At first I thought it was one of the decommisioned Forrestal or Kitty Hawk class carriers. But when the thing started to topple over and I saw the bridge, I knew it was a helicarrier. -
Macross Δ (Delta) Mecha/Technology Thread - READ 1st POST
Vifam7 replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
Are you willing to accept anything in the series so long as it can be explained away as precedented or believeable technology "in universe"? The reason why I ask is because in the DX Chogokin VF-31 thread I suggested an episode in which the Walkure girls are surfing on top of VF-31s in macronized form. I believe such a scene is totally possible "in universe" but I got the feeling that most fans would balk at such a thing happening in the show. I really do want to see something like this in Delta. -
I didn't get the one Yamato released, so I'll be getting this Arcadia one. However, I think this may be the last Yamato/Arcadia Macross toy I purchase. After this, focus will be on Delta, HMR, and kits.
