The Classic Middle America Backstory Times have always been hard for Yoshio's family. An absent father left Yoshio to be raised by his mother with little opprtunity to make a living. On the farm - barely getting by - Yoshio's world is turned around when his mom sends him with his uncle and his wife overseas to South Ataria. A resentful Yoshio spends his rough youth without much direction until hope comes in the face of a beautiful singer named Minmay. If he can learn the hard lessons about being a man, Yoshio just might have what it takes to seize the promise of a good life living on the edge of this new frontier. The Melodramatic Foreign Film Backstory On the run since his parents were bystanders killed in a Yakuza war, Yoshio stows away on a boat bound an island far off the coast known to be the new land of opportunity. Scraping by on the streets of South Ataria, Yoshio meets a beautiful young girl with a million dollar voice and big dreams. It's Yoshio's chance to get off the streets and grow strong so that one day he can return to the mainland and avenge his parents murder. The Quirky Indie Backstory Life is a drag for young Yoshio living in the shadow of the new age. Nearly friendless with a work obsessed scientist mother and a father more in love with writing than with life, Yoshio figures things couldn't get much worse living in South Ataria. Until one day Yoshio is accidentally invited to a party where he meets a young lesbian girl named Minmay performing with her edgey band Crotch Kick, a band that may have a shot at stardom. Soon Yoshio is on a journey of self-discovery, sex, and learning that sometimes in a world that has no place for you, you have to make a place for yourself.

Oh, my apologies. Well, graphic design and presentation is good. Lonely Soldier Boy did amazing mechanical design work. I'm very much looking forward to your coloring of the designs.
-
Holy crap! That is some really good mechanical design! Wow! I can see some influence from Kunio Okawara's Votoms work (like your avatar), some Kazumi Fujita and Koichi Ohata too. I really like what you've done here. Naturally, I'm very curious about the colors

Yeah, that seems likely. The kid has to have parents. The show never gives the impression he's orphan Oliver. Just the local rascal that everyone has to look after.

Seto Kaiba It's not like the Yoshio "character" was ever developed or granted anything more than passing production effort, so the character is open to almost any interpretation. I wouldn't be excited or disappointed with whatever story they gave him Gubaba Didn't know he had defined parents, but the way the little official describes him nas an urchin Yoshio could easily be "parented" by the neighbourhood. Which - if they are not related - may explain why Minmay seemed so familiar/close when interacting with the little snotter

I think there were discussions about Minmay and Yoshio before and the best conclusion was there is no indication of any relation. Yoshio is described as a "neighbourhood urchin", so he's likely just an ever-present mischievous child that everyone in town knows all too well

Next time just ask, I always need my house cleaned But, but...I've based my entire life on the belief that Makurosu is the height of artistic quality, dramatic sophistication and literary complexity! This is not so? I think now I know how Catholics feel

Looks amazing. Could this be the first FOUR-QUADRANT first person shooter? Definitely get the pixar vibe from this, but in all the right ways. This easily could have been "The Incredibles: The FPS Video Game". Hadn't a clue this was coming, but I have to say this is instantly on my radar now.

It's a better title than almost all the prequel ones and is pretty much on par with the level of the original trilogy titles, so I'm okay with it. At this point, anyone expecting a Star Wars title to blow them away hasn't come to terms with their nostalgia-flavoured tastes for the mediocre titles of the original trilogy.

That is true, but I was just providing my rationale since it was my website that was being referenced. I built and posted those variants online based upon SDFM footage at a time when the Yamato toy of the VF-1A Cavalier or VF-1A Alaska Base didn't even exist and weren't even named (indeed, I had to create names for them). But I'm glad there are official names now.

I don't know for certain, but because the VF-1A was so much more numerous than the other variants, it makes more sense to choose the "A" type than any others. At least officially. Fan customs of the same are fair game Also, in the next update to my website I'll be updating the titles of those "mystery" valkyries to more "official" names. The Dark Bird seems to be designated the "Cavaliers" and the UN Headquarters variant is supposedly called "Alaska Base".

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Sometimes I let my natural tendecies get the best of me. But if I may, I think it's fair to say this movie isn't a pure escapist film and the realistic human reactions to Chappie is nearly as important as who Chappie is in the movie.

Oh yeah, Jessica Chastain is brilliant. I loved her in both Take Shelter and Zero Dark Thirty. She'd be great as a Marvel super hero. Although it might be even more awesome if some of thes casting choices like Chastain lead to ANOTHER female super hero film rather than just one.- 213 replies

We most certainly are. I just stopped cause I felt kinda alone in this thread. I love the two you've posted; do you have larger, clean versions of these two images so I can build some for my phone?

Uh, there are lots of people that do way worse right now than treat the proverbial first sentient robot like trash. They rape women, assault gay people, exploit the poor, discriminate against ethnic minorities, destroy democracy, steal wealth from your own pocket and wage wars for cheap oil. Not only is the hatred displayed in the Chappie trailer likely, human nature almost guarantees it will happen.

Margot Robbie. Her performance in "Wolf of Wall Street" was solid, so she has some chops. But I wouldn't make her my first choice. I appreciate fine eye candy on screen as much as anyone, but I'm hoping the casting for Captain Marvel is less "Maxim" than some gal like Robbie. Maybe half way between "Game of Throns" and "Girls" in the glamour department. And please, oh please make it some girl who can throw a punch without looking like a tart- 213 replies

Carol Danvers can be anyone. The character doesn't have to be a "type", that's sorta the point. I support Emily Blunt as suggested casting because she can truly act and can do "convincing" action, which is a far cry from throwing some dumb Hollywood flavor-of-the-month into the mix and watching half-assed waifu (cue Wonder Woman). I also happen to think Blunt is an entertaining actor.- 213 replies
