Was that just a grammar error, or do we have another "Swingers" fan on the board?

Impressive. Way better than the North American release, which was totally unattractive (no doubt on purpose, given who was liscencing the set)

I love it! I like the UK green and security blue the best. I see some design lineages to several real and fictional firearms (like the aformentioned XM-8 and the Assault Rifle from Halo). I also like the concept of the new rifle you're drawing. Very cool stuff!

Though I'm eager to try this anime, I bow to your flair for sarcasm

Well, the typical culprits requiring such info would be spacebattles.com, stardestroyer.net, b5tech.com, or other such "versus" locales I'm just curious.

Do I dare ask which message board?
-
Yes. And being on the end of a nuke would tend to have an effect on your opinion of them.

"You will hate this anime with every fiber of your being"
-
Yeah. What Southcross said...'Share?" Preferably a 1280x1024 res version if possible

Looking great! It's so good to see some CGI Zentradi mecha.

Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
Mr March replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I sure would like to see more Macross DVDs in region 1 with quality subtitles, but a good dub can't hurt either. I just would not want any Robotech cast involved in any way. Which is asking too much. Open the flood gates to a dub and anything can happen with HG in control. -
Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
Mr March replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This is very strange. THough I can't say I'm stunned at all. The court rulings in Japan clearly did not give total dominion of the original Macross over to Big West. So it goes without saying that there would be some sort of compromise if BW wanted to sell original Macross products internationally. I just never expected DYRL? to be negotiated. I thought the Macross film was pretty much BW's property. Weirdness... -
Star Wars OT on DVD - Official - Sept 21st
Mr March replied to Blaine23's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Good news to see them finally on DVD. Bad news that the Special Edition's "definitive" status is confirmed yet again. -
Wouldn't losing almost half a ship's structure be fatal to just about any kind of fighter?
-
No, there was never a Movie Edition International Version release in Japan per se. However, there WAS an International Version release of the OVA series in Japan, which was basically the Manga dub with Japanese subtitles. Except none of that matters now because that was back in the LD/VHS days. Thank you for finally answering the original question Renato. I appreciate the help. I figured it was just a net rumor, but I had to ask just the same.

'Technical' Questions for Macross TV Series buffs
Mr March replied to Shaggydog's topic in Movies and TV Series
All Super Valkyrie variants are canon if you mean to suggest ONLY the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross television series is canon macross animation (which it is not). During the final conflict of SWO, there are several shots showing all three types of VF variant outfitted in the FAST Pack configuration for the showdown with Boldozaa's fleet. I know someone here has screen shots. -
I saw a rumor on another website that stated there was an "international" version of Macross Plus Movie Edition released in Japan that features an english dubbing. Is this true or just another net legend?
-
A self-defeating policy since the literal translation only makes misunderstanding more likely. Real translation is more than just moving words from one language to another; it's moving the ideas and intent of the words as well and making sure that the one receiving the translation comprehends what's being said or written. I'm sure the translation is accurate, but it definitely needs to be rewritten into regular English. I'm all for proper english translations, but it's not my website. I'm just saying what WJ policy is

Damn right. There isn't a track in all of Macross that I like more than Information High. In terms of music Macross Plus just burys all the others, save for DYRL. Oh yeah! Information High is an incredible song. I never get tired of listening to that tune.

Not really true. The X-wing and Tie games were well done and popular. As was the first Dark Forces game where the character Kyle has no force powers at all. Then there are the Rogue Squadron games which are very successful. I'm glad we are getting this game though. I enjoy the Jedi Knight games but I've grown tired of force users over the years. To much use of them, well over use of them. Attack of the Clones anyone. I was refering to 3d shooters only. There have been many successful Star Wars games outside of the shooter genre. I too liked both X-Wing and TIE Fighter and they were great PC games in their own right. Nonetheless, I stand corrected. Dark Forces was a great 3D shooter for the PC and there was no force included. But it has been a good long while

You'd better get the PC version, 'cause that's what I'll be playing on. This game looks like it has some pretty nice terrain modeling. That forest actually looks like a forest and not the inside of a box with trees painted on the walls. The trees even look like they're swaying in the breeze. Hehehe. Yes sir!

Half Life 2: On track for summer release
Mr March replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
All I can say is this better not be another Daikatana. I assume no one can match the utter failure of Romero's spawn, but there's always new world records being broken... *prays for an early release for beloved Half-Life 2* -
Hehehe. Kinda cool, but definitely a novelty I wouldn't buy.
