Nice photos! What kind of lighting are you using? Do you use a soft box?

More pics of Roy's VF-0S with the Drone/FAST Pack at the bottom of page 5 of This thread in case you missed it first time round. Graham Ahhh. Thank you very much Graham. Great looking pics!
-
Hmmm, since I own both a PC and X-Box, I'm thinking of picking up one version or the other.

WOW! These look great! It's interesting to see the Monster in there. The new additional weapons and equipment on the VF-0's look interesting. Is that a Valkyrie launched drone on the top of that one VF? Cool looking!

It's Official, I'm now a Macross convert!
Mr March replied to whytwolf's topic in Movies and TV Series
WAIT!!!! Whatever you do, don't get the SDF Macross sets from anywhere else but Best Buy or A&B Sound. I live in Calgary and they have the best prices on those 3 disc sets. The local hobby stores like Phoenix are selling the sets at $145 a piece, an outrageous price! Best Buy had them for close to $40.00 each if I recall and A&B Sound was not much more than that. But definitely don't go to HMV or Music World, you'll get ripped based on the prices I've seen there (which I remember being close to $80 a pop). *catches breath* Anyway, I would certainly recommend purchasing the SDF Macross series next. I own the set and not only is the original series a fine Macross story, the DVD presentation is one of the best anime DVD releases to ever see the light of day. The picture and audio quality is perfect and the subtitling is amazing. Go for that first. After that, I seriously recommend purchasing the 4-part OVA version of Macross Plus. While I own both the Movie Edition and the 4-Part OVA of Macross Plus, I enjoy the OVA much more (no doubt this will start a contraversy as always). Nevertheless, you can do no wrong by at least renting the 4-Part version of Mac+ and deciding for yourself. Besides, you're on a Mac+ high right now, so why not see more of it? Next, I'd definitely recommend watching Macross The Movie: Do You Remember Love? Despite being made in 1982, the animation is top notch and holds up well even to this day. Check it out. Last but not least, try out Macross Zero. You can't really obtain it here in Calgary (unless you go to the chinatown shops, ahem), but you can download the fansubs off the internet. Only 4 of the 5 episodes are currently released, but the last episode will be out soon and it should be good. Send me a PM if you want some more tips for anime shopping in Calgary. Living here means I've done quite a bit and can give you some helpful tips to save money. And congratulations on your new found Macross fandom! -
DAMN! Does that video feature ever look great! Just finished downloading it and watching. My god, visually stunning doesn't even begin to describe it. Every frame of that film is like a piece of artwork. Simply amazing!

Well, I picked up the first TPB of Sin City after work today and I'll give it a read. If I really enjoy it, I'll get "A Dame To Kill For" and "The Big Fat Kill" next. Thanks for the information everyone. Guppy, I've read Batman Year One and I've also read The Dark Knight Returns twice. TDKR is an excellent book. I've also read Watchmen, which is another fine story. And yes, I've read Miller's now famous run on Daredevil (this was my first exposure to Miller). THanks for the suggestions. I've heard the Dark Knight Strikes Again was mediocre at best, so it hasn't been a priority. Right now, I'm looking forward to the finish of Straczynski's Rising Stars this October, November, and January. Blaine23, If I like the first Sin City, I'll probably check out the others. I must admit, just the title for the 4th series sounds hilarious

That is a fantastic rendition of the Physalis. Very cool website. THanks for the link!
-
If one were new to Sin City, and wanted to read the graphic novels, and I were a fan of Frank Miller's other work, what books would I read in what order? Because I would be, I do, and I am

As always, a treat to see your work Firefox. Lookin good.

Too late It says the link was removed. Damn it, I wanted to see that.

Perfect. This is just what I was looking for. THanks.

Ive always said that to really be an artist or musician you have to be unemployed. That would be impossible to me since i live alone and recieve no money from anyone but me. Right now i really hate where i work and who i work for but its the best job i ever had because it actually makes money. I work for the federal govt doing decurity in teh airport but i know the job ( which is of course important to protect people) was created for no other reason then politics. You would be amazed at how inept this orginization is, if the govt was so concerned with public safety you think they could pay for x rays that didnt break down every 20 minutes, or covers for the screens so the sunlight didnt block out images. We actually everyday at noonish have to duct tape umbrellas or pieces or cardboard to teh top of the monitors to keep out sunlight because the govt refuses to pay money. Very classy. The point mainly being i dont want to be here in a year , but at the same time it beats working at restruants for pennies. I hope i can at least get the job part time. Right now i wake up at 230 am work from 4 am until 230 pm. Its a very stressful job as everyone pretty much hates you...passengers, and other airport employees, especially pilots, just for trying to protect them. I cant blame them all the time since the job is filled with so many inept people whio i cant for the life of me understand how they got a job like this ( though i probably can). I think part time is closed right now i have to check again, the current part timers were made to be full time because of lack of people. Currently looking into a job which would require me to translate wire tappings from tape into type. The hours would be much more flexible and better on the head, and the pay actually higher. This would also put me more in control of time. Thank you mr march btw, your post gave me some ideas. Well, I didn't have much to offer, but I'm glad what I said helped. And yes, a job with better hours certainly helps. A regular job, 8 to 4 leaves a lot of time open to pursue your real passion. And it leaves those all important weekends open.

Sacrifice is the key. I'm 29 and have only been doing film for a little over a year, but the key to my involvment and continuing education has been sacrifice. Give up your holidays, give up your weekends, give up your new car, give up all that crap and throw yourself at your passion. When I was younger I went to college, got educated in business, and got a "real job" and learned the normal life is not for me. Luckily, I learned this very early in life and before being married with five kids or a 25 year mortage. Even more fortunate, I found something which I love doing...film. You already know what it is in life you want to do. You're already ahead. So do whatever you have to, but accept a change in your life. Make a real, honest change and do whatever is necessary to get into what you love to do, regardless of whether it's school or starting at the bottom and working your way up. Don't feel down. You're 25 and have your whole life ahead of you. Just be thankful you're not going through this when you're fifty.

LOL!!! That transforming teenager is hilarious Mechanical transformation is a stretch as it is, but organic/inorganic transformation is really silly. Better if the teen transforms into a huge, green guy

Can I recommend some anime to you? I strongly recommend Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Very good show, even if you disliked the 1995 film, odds are you'll enjoy the series. Can everyone tell I like this new series?
-
Interesting interpretations. I wonder if they would transform properly into fighters, given the strange proportions.
-
LOL Not exactly what I had in mind, but the effort is appreciated.

greetings, and a request for intelligent aid...
Mr March replied to lutesla's topic in Movies and TV Series
You are correct that good, intelligent "versus" threads are few and far between. While I think they are fun to engage in from time to time as long as the flames are managed, here at MacrossWorld they have a tendancy to be locked before they go anywhere. Like political and religious debates, they are pretty much no-shows. That being said, I thought your intro wasn't bad and your invitation was well thought out to invite intelligent discussion. You're on the right road to managing a calm, thoughtful discussion. If I have time, I'll certainly interject an opinion. THanks for the offer. -
Stand Alone Complex - Visual Book
Mr March replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Great pictures! Damn, I want this book badly! -
Well, it'll be very nice to have these on DVD at last. The transfer looks very impressive. One thing I'm sure of is the quality will be high as far as picture and sound. The revised emperor scene is great. I like the additional dialogue and revised editing. The scene seems to flow better. Couldn't look at the Jabba scene. Says the bandwidth limit has been hit

Scientists vote 'Blade Runner' best sci-fi film.
Mr March replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That's interesting, though I've never been a huge fan of Blade Runner. It is a good film and a science fiction classic, but not one of my favorites. It's funny to see a lot of the films I like on that list. I suspected 2001 would be number two on the list if it wasn't number one. -
A funny video for veterans of internet forums
Mr March replied to Mr March's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Gotta check that one out. I still have so much of their episodes to see.
