That mini-series scared the living sh*t out of me when it first aired back when I was in 9th grade. Made the mistake of taping it and watching it late at night with the lights off after everyone had gone to bed...

Hard pass for me for now...didn't care for their CW intro episodes, and the kid looks annoying and very "token" Disney. In 3 Seasons, if everyone is all goo goo over it, I'll catch up..

1/48 SOUTHERN CROSS BIOROID

The Robotech Masters would be VERY pleased!!! Great job! -
The cannon fodder is the prettiest scheme, no doubt, unfortunately it does have the track record of being the worst. I had one years ago, and it was super cool to look at...

+1 Actually, that model looks kinda fun, definitely something out of the ordinary.
-
Yeh...It's like they stopped caring when they got to the E. I put them on anyway.
-
@peter -- yeh, it's the only game in town for the ship, but if you do, just be aware, the fit is atrocious on most all the parts, there is NO interior included, but on the plus side, there is a lot of room for lighting and custom ideas should you want to go that route.

Tamiya sprays are damn good paints. Used properly, they can rival an airbrush for large single color needs on jobs IMHO.

Thanks for the compliments guys! @electric indigo, those pics look amazing! ps...what's the dangly looking things underneath???
-
WOW! Great work everyone! @peter - The fleet came out fantastic!!! @pengbuzz -man!!! She's a keeper all right! What a great story! @MechTech - You sir are either a non human godlike scratch building machine OR a complete MADMAN who should be committed immediately for psychiatric evaluation! Either way, amazing work! Over here today, MILESTONE DAY - Engines attached to main body and lights still work! Whew! ***Mental note!!*** - Next time, mask off large sections of bare plastic where big parts attach, it would have saved me a LOT of time sanding back paint and primer today! Next, make new set of windows and install and then it's time for the main event...wire up everything together inside and get the top and bottom halves together....somehow...After that, it's all down to masking and painting panels....hopefully. Finally got a mock up shot of what this thing will look like! Been a long time coming!

that's awesome!!! Great job!

I had to go Amazon. No local hobby shop.. well the one there is, which is a good hour round trip, didn't have it. Under $8 with Prime shipping. I put a tiny bit on, immediately wiped away the access with a pointy small qtip and then let it dry for about 20 minutes. Hit with a light sand and good to go! Water clean up. I did rinse out and clean the white applicator very well so hopefully it will keep it clean inside.
-
Trying a new putty, so far I love it! Best I've tried. The little applicator tube is perfect for small areas. Final primer layer going down on engines today! Paint tomorrow... Maybe..
-
@peter E is looking good! I hear you on the plane thing. I have a 1/48 Hasagawa F-22 in my pile along with the ever popular 1/72 YF-19 and YF-21 I want to do soon. After the Runabout and Cat's Eye and the good ole QRau that's been shelved for years now...hahaha. @electric indigo - that is a fantastic paint job! Love how the canopy is soo shiny too! Great job!
-
GREAT job!!! Looks fantastic! Your main deflector came out better than mine! I also wish I had remembered to paint the 3 shuttle bays a darker grey than the base color, but I forgot! I fully agree with the hot water trick, I keep a little bowl of water on a small warmer I got years ago that keeps my decal water pretty darn hot and I haven't had as many issues doing it that way.
-
Your D is looking perfect!!! Bravo!!!
-
The D is a MUCH more pleasant experience honestly, it's actually fun. The E isn't terrible, the nacelles are challenging, but nothing like the C.
-
Don't beat yourself up about the C engine decals to bad, they suck. We all do our best on them and move on!
