  1. Very nice!
  2. Yeeeeeh....that green......just not for me. Looks like a great piece though! Congrats to those who now have all 3!
  3. The ONLY problem with this thing is that if you order it and get it in hand and you love it, then you are gonna HAVE to order NOT Skywarp and NOT Thundercracker when they get released! Then your wife or GF will find out you dropped nearly $500 on new toy jets and then you'll hear ...."don't you already have those..., AND in different sizes too???"
  4. @sh9000 - I must have totally missed the pre-order for a HMR TV Max!
  5. I still have the 1/500 in my to build pile from years ago, I think I got it off Amazon for like $80. I can't wait to be able to get to it..It's freakin massive!!!
  6. Never been a huge fan of DYRL schemes, but DAMN, something about the way he did ole Kaki's ride just POPS with that green!
  7. @pengbuzz - Already done! 🤣
  8. Hadn't really ever noticed how completely different Bandai handled the backpack thruster part on the HM-R VS the DX. Much more streamlined on the HM-R...
  9. My wife went up to Winstar Casino with her brother this weekend for a quick end of summer trip. For some months now, I have been trying to gently convince my loving bride that after 10 years of me SUFFERING standing up, airbrushing models outside in the garage IN TEXAS is really getting to me now that I'm in my mid 40's. It's HOT, HUMID AF or.. COLD and hurts my back standing on the concrete. There are about 10 weekends a year MAYBE that it is actually enjoyable to do so. SO! My main problem is convincing her that I'm ONLY going to spray acrylics, which are water based and non toxic, and I spray such small amounts and clean up with Windex, that it would be fine. She thinks I'm going to asphyxiate us including the cats which eat and poop in that room and stink up the entire house with paint odor. I have shown here multiple pros that have indoor home setups such as Barbatos Rex on YouTube and he does EVERYTHING indoors, acrylics,, lacquers and enamels. ANYWAY, I took the bull by the horns and did a ton of research online, spent my $50 on supplies, had them shipped to my office last week and setup a proof of concept trial this morning while she is away! (She knows nothing about this!) LOL! This WILL be my idea of HEAVEN ON EARTH!!! Well.... RESULTS!!! -- Mixed -- I airbrushed the front and rear decks of the Titanic with Tamiya Acrylic. No paint odor at all and I got to SIT IN THE COOL room and paint!!! However, I used my handy new digital thermometer to take readings for temp and humidity in the kitchen, far away from the room, and later in the modeling room. 3 degrees warmer in the modeling room, and it just smelled like "outside" ICK. I went outside and could not feel any cool air escaping from the window, so that was good. You could definitely notice the outdoor smell and the temp change though, I'm guessing the temp change is due to just the piece of plastic letting in more heat then a double paned window, and the smell just is what you get from the air coming back through the tube into the spray booth, everything else was sealed up pretty darn airtight. So...I don't think it's going to work this time around, If I sealed the window panel better maybe, but for now, I'm going to keep all the parts I bought and maybe the next house we get, I'll have a "Man Shed" with AC out back or something...back to the garage I go.......and I'm sad, after experiencing painting sitting down in the AC. 10. ALWAYS a pleasure to see a true master of his craft at work!
  11. For all of us mid-40's guys who grew up in the 80's, If anyone is interested, the new Aoshima 1:48 Clear Body Airwolf kit is up for pre-order at HLJ. I grabbed one. I had the old kit back in the 80's, but it was terrible as I remember and I had very little modeling experience. https://www.hlj.com/1-48-scale-airwolf-with-clear-body-aos06352
  12. Cool looking stand!!!
  13. +1...As technically great as all the modern Lambo's are, I truly believe after the Murcielago SV LP670, they lost something. That was the last "great one" IMHO.
  14. You know, looking back, it really grinds my gears that I blew off this line at first and missed out on the Roy and the Armored 1J....GRRRRR...Now they are so expensive to try to get...At least I got the rest of the line minus M&M upon release at retail pricing.
  15. It's the Angel Bird custom super/strike parts that DO IT for me...Would love to see them actually on the Valk!
  16. I actually picked up on it yesterday I think, but I decided to take the high road and not mention it!
  17. @arbitI guess I never really thought about it, I guess 6 to 8 inches or so??? Maybe closer, BUT I'm now 46 and just got a new glasses prescription for my 1st pair of BIFOCULS...eeekkk!!!.. I'm old! So with that being said, when I get those new glasses in in a couple of weeks, things may change for me for the better with the working distance to small parts..I'll keep you posted!
  18. @arbit - These are what I use, you get 4 different lenses and the LED lamp part comes out, which is good, I don't use it and it makes it way to heavy! Amazon.com : MagniVisor Deluxe Head Visor/Magnifier : Sports & Outdoors
  19. Ohh SNAP! I GOTTSTA get me that Golf GTI!
  20. @MechTech - Loving the decals and ammo!
  21. Well @Chronocidal, I can report that my absolute favorites are still Model Master enamels for brushing, I picked up a jar of Brass the other week at the hobby shop, one of the few colors left, and it just lays down absolutely beautiful with a brush. Just like I remember it doing. The Humbrols, with just a quick 5 minute brush on a plastic spoon test I can report are pretty good...depending on the color....oddly the yellow and white did the best! Go figure. The grays and greens not so much, (and yes, I did stir them up adequately). I know I'm gonna have to try Tamiya enamels at some point, just so hard to get at the moment unless you pay stupid prices for shipping from overseas.
