  1. The SDF-1 is awesome--you're gonna love it.
  2. Payment sent on Monday night. Let's see when it gets to my doorstep....EMS used.
  3. QFT for realz....and on that note...can you IMAGINE what Yamato would charge nowadays for a new version of 1:48's??? You gotta remember things are way different now than they were when the 1:48's were released. They would have zero problem charging $300+ for one. Guaranteed.
  4. The PURPLE cockpit is totally turning me off of this....I know it's suppose to be like that but ick!!!
  5. It's a crazy Macross 7 thing for the VF-19 Kai..you know...the red and yellow Mickey D valk...basically 2 giant speakers for space that are like a FAST pack...yehh...I know....LOL. sounds retarded...ya either love it or hate it.. I've had EMS get to me in 3 days flat. Fed-EX is also usually very quick.
  6. i got an Angel myself. And a sound booster...although I'll prob regret that...have a feeling that will eventually be as cheap as the GBP
  7. maybe I need to take lessons broh...LOL...cause for a novice...that bird looks freakin GOOD!
  8. muuuuust noooot buuuuy Angel Bird and Sound Booster....muuust resist!
  9. Can't say this was a very happy moment yesterday......you know..I knew trying these old Ban Dai kits was gonna be hard as they SUCK ASS compared to modern kits, but I was holding out hope that I could manage it....apparently not. Cheap P.O.S. plastic..and painting it has been a nightmare... Oh well....here's hoping at some point Toynami releases a 1:100 Glaug. No hope for this one I don't think...I officially give up. Onwards and upwards to my Moebious Galactica!
  10. FYI....For those of you hardcore Star Wars fans out there....Starshipmodeler.com has 5 of the FineMolds 1:72 Scale Millennium Falcons back in stock for $215.00...I just grabbed one...(I must need professional help....)
  11. I watched and loved Robotech when it initially aired in TX back in 85 or so...loved it...because unlike G. I, Joe and Transformers, which I also loved, ppl died, the show seemed more "real" somehow. I had my poor parents searching high and low for Robotech toys and models, which at that time were fairly hard to come by..and never really questioning why some of the toys said "Valkyrie" or Legoiss" or whatever on them. Later on, I guess I found out somehow that Robotech was cobbled together from other anime, but didn't really give it much thought unitl about 2001 or so when I got my first apt with a computer and high speed internet and discovered this website! Which led to me finding Mac Plus, Macross 7 and DYRL, a bunch of great guys who are SO much more nerdy than I am, and a VERY UNHEALTHY Yamato toy habit.... . I have owned and watched the "Mah-Cross" original series for a couple of yrs now, and just recently purchased the original Southern Cross and Mospeada series which I am looking forward to watching over the holidays!
  12. sadly I don't....might have to resort to evilbay....
  13. The Invid/Inbitz have ALWAYS been my favorite bad guys! Somebooody PLEEEAAASE make some before I get to old!! edit: please make ALL OF THEM..
  14. I can help you my friend... . You might want to post this in the Model Forum as well...Lots of good guys there. Anyway....I was a model builder years ago, but had gotten away from it for about 15 years..so when I finally had a place to build again, I wanted to start with something simple-ish and REALLY always wanted a Fan Racer, so I took the chance. I already new Yamato made a good (99% of the time) toy, so I figured their models had to be at least descent. Make sure you get the fan racer with the pilot included! It's the newer release. The first release didn't have one! To answer your questions in order... 1. You will need glue. Normal everyday Testors Model Cement is what i use most of the time, but liquid superglue is quickly becoming a favorite of mine as well. 2. The paint scheme made me nervous as well. White was always a difficult color to spray for me and against an orange...yeh. But never fear, buy yourself some Tamiya masking tape..and then some good painters tape from the local hardware store and you should be good to go. 3. If you have a good local hobby shop, then yes, I don't. Most of the time Tamiya product is hard to find for me and I have to buy it online, so good luck. However, I recently discovered that the new Hobby Lobby close to me has a pretty good selection of things. 4. For this particular model, I used Tamiya gloss white and Orange Spray Cans. Now....I usually my airbrush for everything, so this was a big departure for me, however, it turned out great. I will say this....go buy the cheapest model you can find that you don't care about and practice TEST painting it first!!! 5. I never really keep track of how long it took me, but not more than a few hours over a couple of weekends. ---Most important thing about building models---HAVE LOTS OF PATIENCE! If you feel yourself getting frustrated, just walk away for a couple of days....it always helps! Trust me!!! Hope this helps..if you wanna ask anything else you can feel free to PM me. ps..the stand is NOT included...it was from an old 1:100 Valk kit I never finished, but I thought it was awesome for the Fan Racer! Good Luck!
  15. My first Yamato product and only 1:48 is the first release of the Roy VF-1S, and it has become fairly floppy after only about 10-15 or so transformations since I got it. And the flaps pretty much fall off if you look at them wrong, and the arms drag the ground in fighter mode with the fast pack pieces attached....The 1:48's were EPICALLY cool back in their day, but for me.....sorry,,,,,,,,,,1:60's ver2 rule.
  16. Maybe closer to 1:48 then??? Good question...definitely not as big as the old Matchbox one though!
  17. If you are referring to the two main cannons on the top, then yes, to a certain small degree. Most of mine are really tight. There's not much play in them at all however.
  18. agreed on a Hovertank. IF it were about 1:60 scale and done well. Fully transformable, with a snap on "canopy" and a Jeane/Dana or some form of pilot.
  19. THAT blows dude. sorry.
  20. hellz to the yeh!!!
  21. dude that thing is looking FRACKIN awesome! making me want to start mine!
  22. whyyyyy can't that be a pre-assembled, high quality toy for ooohh about $30. then I would buy multiples!
  23. 1:72 is closer in my opinion....I used 1:72 scale decals on a 1:60 Ver.2 Valk and they look 99% the same as the Yamato 1:60 stickers. Only much, much cleaner.
  24. Started on my 1:100 Glaug yesterday. Trying to really work on my seams on this kit. Something I have never been very good at getting rid of completely. The 2 cannon halves seam is the one I worked on yesterday. It's really not a bad fit for a 1992 kit. On another note....anybody tried Model Master Acrylics??? I am sooooo DONE trying to find ANYWHERE that has FREAKING Tamiya product in stock on line.. (I have only 1 hobby lobby and 1 small hobby shop semi locally and they don't have sh*t) .. . Sorry-----rant mode OFF.
