Well said, sir. Personally, I've had about as much RT/HG-dramaas I can take for a while. I'm simply burned out. I kinda realized it earlier this week, when I was involved in a chat with MEMO, and instead of answering questions about his banning practices, his adoption of Bendo as an ally, and his continual denial of facts that are present to him, he simply played dumb, split hairs, and generally dodged any effort towards a real answer. I was, to put it quite simply, disgusted beyond belief. I knew it was par for the course with MEMO, but it still hit me in a wierd way that made me realize that RT's a giant waste of time. The drama that goes on is so stupid and circular, and I just want no fruther part of it, right now. Oh, well... I guess I'll just have to content myself with Macross and Gundam-UC...

Bayformers...

ROFLMAO!!!! I just watched that little clip for the third time, and it looks like MacF/Mac7 mecha jammed into the RT:TSC animation engine! I am now thoroughly convinced that HG has something to do with this!

Please tell me that Harmony Gold's NOT coaching these folks in China...

How about a 1/48 Destroid Tomahawk with ground crew and gadgets like ammo carts and stuff? Anyone else go for that?
-
That's because RT isn't that big.

Don't hold your breath... Apparently, the Phalanx is on hold, and there's no plans to release the Spartan at all. A deffinite shame, because I would've gotten one of each if they'd've released all the one-person destroids.

Another greivous mistake by the Usual Gang of Idiots (A title previously reserved or Mad Magazine) at Harmony Gold. A mistake, mind you, that is compunded by the morons that praise Harmony Gold (PTH, MEMO, Sanman, Mav, and the rest). Idiots leading idiots...

Now, there's a poimt I could agree with. RT.com is a legitimate extension of Harmony Gold, and so, by that extension, a person could reasonably come to the conclusion that HG knows what happened on that site. If the powers that be at HG know what's happening, then it just adds another chapter to the vast volumes of HG's ongoing literary epic "How to destroy a company, a franchise, and a fanbase without really trying." There's two scenarios that present themselves, and both of them speak badly for HG. Option 1: The people that run HG (Or rather, the people that run the RT side of HG) are completely cluseless about the state of affairs on thier site, and the moderators that they've appointed to keep an eye on things. This speaks badly for HG, showing thier complete ineptitude for managing, developing, and expanding a franchise/fan-base. Option 2: The higher-ups at HG not only know about the abusive behavior of thier moderators, but they actively condone and encourage it. This is probably the more liekly option, since I know for a fact that many complaint messages have been sent to them, and they simply refuse to respond. Ultimately, most of the 'banned' folks have simply had their posting priveledges revoked, so that these folks can still be members of the site, and hense, still be counted as loyal fans by McKeever and the like. Well, they make thier own problems, and they will reap the bennefits of them.

If I may be so bold, allow me to offer a counter-theory. When the new 'powers-that-be' took over in the Star Trek world, they took the subtle aire of PC present in the original series and ran with it, letting it completely saturate the plots of DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise. I'm sorry to say, it all began with ST:TNG, which is somewhat sad, for me. That's when it started turning foul for me. I just wanted good Star Trek-type SciFi, not a manufactured lesson in some type of tollerance or other... I don;t know how many other people would carry this view, but I do know a few in RL, so I know I'm not just talking out of my ass on this. ----- In reference to RT, it seems that the lunatics have taken over the assylum, in all sense of the word. Now, while I don't see anything as all-pervasive as the above-mentioned PC-agenda that infected Trek, I do see a trend of mistakes, and another trend of badly done propoganda to try and cover those mistakes. Fruthermore, the folks at HG seem to try and force RT into some kind of current relevance, and in fact, refuse to accept the fact that it has none. Oh well...

New Yamato Anime to Open in Japanese Theaters in 2009

<<< WARNING: The clip referenced in the above quote has left the post author in a catatonic state, and unable to articulate his excitement in any form of coherent speech. We will advise when this situation is rectified, but early estimates indicate that this will happen only when the author has seen this movie.>>> -
I think I might be able to. Fandom type 1: Continue to follow every word and utterance that comes out of HG, and praise it as if it were the Holy Word of the Almighty itself. No matter what logic is applied to these statements, the Type-1 fan will continue to follow blindly, blissfully, and completely unaware of just how badly RT has been and always will be handled. Fandom type 2: A constant trickle of disgurntled fans that see the unbridled truth of things, such as HG's complete buffoonery, the habits of Type-1 fans (See above), and the continued efforts of fansite moderators to silence the 'heretics' of the RT fandom Fandom type 3: Complete abandonment of RT as a whole, and the embrace of other anime, such as Gundam, Macross, and the like. Fandom type 4: (Fan-Art/Fic Producers): A combination of Type-3 and -4, but who still carry the show in some fond, nostalgic light, and who, for thier own reasons, continue with thier endeavors. (Disclaimer: I'm part of this group.) There may be others, but this is all I can think of at the moment.

Excellent! A friend of mine refered me to a Testor's do-it-yourself package with a software disk, the spray-on stuff, and a sheet. Well, I think my printer's pretty darn good, so I'll give it a try. thanks for the feed-back!

Yup! And I'm lovin' every second of it!

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0
Robelwell202 replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I just started 'Ghost Hound' on the recommendation of a friend. So far, I'm liking what I'm seeing. Anyone else watchi this one? -
Okay, let me start with the problem I find for myself. I've got three of Yamato's 1/60 Destroid Tomahawks, and one of them is the Tan 'Special Weathering' edition. Well, the two standard models come with sticker decals, and I've found them to be quite bad, really. Let me show you why. Now, as you can see, the stickers aren't too good, expecially on the curved dome of the lower torso. Now, I was pondering the idea of scanning the water-slide sheet that came with my 'Special Weathering' version, and printing out sheets off that scan. I've got the program, and I'm pretty sure I can get black water-slide sheets for the project. Now, my question: Has anyone ever done water-slide decals off of scans before? If so, how did they work out? Can you provide pics? Thanks! R

Okay. I've never worked in an anime store, so my experience is purely subjective.

<<< WARNING: AMATEUR ATTEMPT AT AN ASWER FORTHCOMING >>> In a word, yes. If my understanding is correct, the BlueRay version of MacF is called 'The Yak Deculture' edition, where scenes were added to fill holes and add to the general eye-candy content. Admitedly, of all the versions I've seen (I think there may be three, total), this one (BlueRay) seems to be the best.
