THE NEW GALACTICA VIPER!*SPOILER*
skunkobot replied to Sarensaas's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If this is a space craft, why does it even have engine intakes. And if it is an atmospheric craft, how in the bloody hell is it supposed to fly, it looks as airworthy as a brick. Love all those forward facing flat surfaces, and the lack of wingspan. So either way I'm confused. -
Nintendo Gamecube Game Recommendations Needed!

Two words. Metroid Prime. That is all. -
Believe it or not they're part of the TF continuity. At least in Japan. They appeared in a couple of episodes of the Headmasters series.
-
My home board is The AllSpark. I think that they have the best mods, and grant the most freedom, without breaking down in flaming anarchy.

When I was in England all we really had to do was put gift on the label, and we were all set. Even if there was an invoice. What, they're going to charge you money for receiving a present?
-
Yep, that's DLP alright. You may not realize it, but you have one of the best TVs out there. Any chance of posting some pics of that Liveman you have? Thanks. Whoops... I mean your Bioman. My bad.
-
Man this guy's big. Might want to keep your 1/48s away from him, looks like he could spank them with one hand behind his back. To get what I mean look at the pic halfway down here: http://adctalk.com/index.php?showtopic=1947853 Looks like he's about to back hand Roy.

If you get this guy, you might want to keep your 1/48s away from him, looks like he could spank them with one hand behind his back. See the pic half way down to understand. Nice to finally get a sense of scale on him. Can't wait, just a few more months...

That is quite the attractive display. Shows off your toys in a classy way, versus my technique of plastering any horizontal surface with them. Of course I think I might have a few more then you. But you have Liveman so it balances out. Oh, is that a DLP TV? One of the Samsungs?

I understand the sentiment of wanting added poseablity, but looking at the figure, I find it amazing how show accurate it is. I prefer having that and a slight decrease in poseability rather then the opposite option. Of course as I've already said, he's just a stop gap until I can get my hands on the MPC. *grin* *drool* *grin*

Just picked up the Lancer Alpha Poseable and I must say I'm very impressed. I don't tend to buy non transforming action figures much, but it looked nice, and I needed something to tide me over until the MPC release. The first thing I noticed was that this bad boy was heavy. And not a chunk of metal in sight, not even screws. Anyone know what kind of plastic this is, I'm not familiar enough with materials to tell, I just know I like it, it has a nice heft. The paint is really nice too, very little overspray, and I had to look hard to find it. Been having a blast just posing this guy, he stays up in some extreme poses. The most impressive thing for me though was realizing the level to which they executed the fighter mode cockpit. If you flip him around you can see the top of the front section of the fighter mode, painted even. Such a nice little detail that could have been overlooked without making anyone think ill of the product. My only complaints are the lack of a mid thigh swivel, and his hips are a bit restricted, but that's forgivable given the design of the figure. Well, the somewhat restricted hips that is. Heads will roll for the lack of mid thigh swivel. Oh, and the head being only a swivel when it should have been a ball joint. So yeah, I've been thinking of going on a killing spree, and using these suckers as my weapons. Anyone care to join me?

Anyone tried sticking a 1/60 pilot into a VF-11 to check for a fit? Seems like a logical way to check to me.
-
Thanks for the quick responces guys. Glad to know the scale of the item I'm returning. *grin* I paid waaay too much. By about 30 dollars by the look of it. Thanks again.
-
Hey all. Just grabbed the the VF-11B from an import shop, the Yammie one. What is it, 1/60? Any ways, paid 79.95 plus tax on it after having my girlfriend doing a quick price check. Didn't realize that she was looking at the FP one and I was looking at the older one. So what I'm trying to figure out is what were the major, if any differences exist between the two, other then the lack of FAST packs. I'm trying to figure out whether I should return it for store credit, or just keep it. Thanks a lot.

Need Help choosing between this 2 Laptops
skunkobot replied to Ladic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'll give you the same responce a Best Buy employee would give you. Without looking at the specific laptops. Go with the Toshiba. -
Dude, there's a comma. So it's less then 5000.
-
Uhm... could someone who knows either chinese or japanese take a look at that mag? Someone said it was from HK, but it looks kinda like japanese to me. I do however reserve the right to be wrong.
-
Well, Hasbro has been saying they're trying to get both versions to look the same... I hope that doesn't mean that they'll chop the stack on the japanese one.
-
Cut 'n' paste.

Whose legs are you thinking of that you have to remove to tranform? There aren't that many partsformers with TFs. Sides, how can a macross fan be complaining about having to remove legs to transforma a toy?
-
In defense of my brethren: You obviously didn't read to much at TF forums. There are a few out there who like some of the kiddier TFs like Energon Prime, and lots of Armada - however they're considered to be... well, weird by the rest of the fandom. Most people hate the kiddiefication of the lines. Unfortunately Hasbro does know their audience - and that audience is mostly made up of little kids. That's why Hasbro has created the Alternators line, so they can cater to both audiences. And for that there is much rejoicing. And as much as I like the Valkyries/Veritechs, there's how many designs there? Like ten? Versus how many different designs for TFs? Plus, look at the price differences? Do you know how many transformers I could buy for the cost of one Valkyrie? Oh, and if it's the Unicron I'm thinking of, the one that's been repainted to movie colors, I've noticed the biggest complaints are that the coloring is a bit flat. There's a lot of detail on that toy, and the grey doesn't bring much of it out. If you had some highlights on him, and maybe a bit of varience on his shells he'd be more popular. It's still really nice though. I especially like your photography of him.

I like the head quite a bit.
-
Thanks. Now as for VF-1A vs VF-1R, is the only difference the head?
-
Any good pics of the paint job?
-
The jury is still out on exactly what country will be getting what. Only to the extent of some of the more specific details - like the stacks and the paint apps. The rest has already been decided and touted for a good half a year now, if not more.
