Macross TV is always silly. If you want something remotely "serious", watch the Macross OVAs, but come on, I don't think even Macross Zero was "serious".

I don't want to break up this intense discussion, but can someone bring out all known infos about the Macross Quarter, aside from what's already in Macross Mecha Manual (kudo to Mr. March) anyway. How is its Macross Cannon's power compare to a Normal Macross Cannon? And I wonder if it has better speed or agility? About the VF 25 vs VF-19/22 discussion: I don't think it's superior in every way compares to 19/22, but the Ex-Gear system alone makes the 25 more user-friendly and allows the pilot to resist an extreme dose of Gs without getting Guld'd, so therefore it's superior. That and the fact you can remote control a 25 with the Ex-Gear, plus it can transform to 3 forms with Super/Armored Pack still intact.

Eh, but Macross is fictional. But at least, I'm glad that Kawamori takes his staff's opinion on the matter. Also hell yeah, BASQUASH!!!

No, I think it's just Shinsei Industry that was behind the YF-24 Evolution's development, there's no source to this following claim but I believe it's General Galaxy (who funded Macross Galaxy) was the one who adapted the YF-24 into Lucifer VF-27 (because it's pretty much a next-gen YF-21/VF-22). So yeah, in this OVA, we get to see a grown up Yang Neuman helping the team, collecting data, maintaining VFs and stuff, and maybe a cameo of Algus Selzer. Dude, it's dead set on, Macross fleet/NUNS vs Space pirates, as we can see, they are no mean a small faction in the Macross 7 Dynamite, I expect they are already expanded a lot by now and It'd be fun to see next-gen VFs vs lousy custom VFs of the pirate faction. I seriously hate Kaifun, but let's just have him there so we can make fun of him one more time. And after all, he's searching for Lin Minmei (and the Megaroad 01).

I think OKG all suffers from the kinda bad rushed ending, but the thing that Tomino did better than Kawamori is he's bit more clear on the OKG ending, unlike the . But I take both ending fine, because I know they will be doing alright. After all, they are supposed to be wacky super robot shows. The OVA is different though, it doesn't go or even mention the TV ending, it follows an entirely new angle of the story ( ), if you liked Aquarion TV, I suggest you watch the OVA when you have a chance, my advice: just forget the TV ending and it's gonna be a better experience overall. And yeah, Aquarion OVA doesn't have the training segments (also less humor), it follows a straight plot. Edit:...and the "movie" episode is also awesome (also has a lot of fanservices) but it's not subbed.

So anyone here actually watch Genesis of Aquarion? I heard it got plenty of hate in other forums, but coming from a mecha and Kawamori-loving guy like me, I think it's pretty awesome. And it made into SRWZ, an awesome game. But I must admit I like the OVA better than the series itself though because of the faster pace and better fights overall.

Ok, I'd take two hints from Frontier and make two following scenario: 1st Scenario is a Macross Plus-like OVA which follows the development of the prototype YF-24. Some terrorists remnant after the VF-X2's events f*cked poo up with a rogue Macross and the Song jamming system, so the NUNS sends out a special team to counter the threat along with a YF-24 to test its capacity. Love triangle involves an ace pilot, his female operator (which likes to sing a lot) and the enemy female ace pilot. 2nd Scenario is Macross TV series which follows the Macross 11 fleet on its quest to explore the Outer Rim of the Galaxy. They discover strange alien species on their ways, fun ensues. Love triangle involves a female ace pilot, an old singer guy and a young Macross captain (for once). Also starring old Lin Kaifun on his way to find Minmei AND cameo of Fire Bomber American. All soundtracks should be done by Yoko Kanno, I guess.

Sure I will, dude, can't wait to get the BD release of the best mecha episode of 2008 (IMO).

This is awesome, man and I thought I got all the previous Macross references in F. Can't wait for the translation of episode 25's note, which referenced every Macross anime ever (maybe even Macross II).

So the difference between the chart and our board varies from one to two years (DYRL movie setting is 2009, not 2010, Macross II sets in 2092, not 2090 like in Macross Ace timeline) so I don't think it would matter much. Can you explain what's wrong? If there are mistakes, we can fix them. Edit: Err...can I even post torrent here? Man, I was waiting for this day since the start of 2009. So is there any chance Satelight showing a trailer of Frontier movie right on this day? It would be hella neat.
