  1. At least there's a neck for Ozma
  2. @letigre lol i see a transformers animated shockwave in one of your pics. That's one of my fav animated characters, next to grimlock and blitzwing I'd post a pic here but most of my collection is Transformers. I'm slowly transitioning to Macross but I'm already close to burning up my toy budget for the year Great pics guys!
  3. cracks would be a big problem for me. I wouldn't even call it mint. I would let things like minor paint chipping go but cracking is breaking to me. I would stay away from it. Low viz aren't in high demand so I recommend picking up a MISB
  4. If the speaker set had the level of detail of Yamato's VF-1 v.2 strike pack, I might consider this set. But looking at my 1/60 Alto pilot, I'm hoping Ranka doesn't turn out to just look like a green, red, and yellow blob.
  5. Do you guys think 4 little plastic speakers, a 1/60 ranka, and a pod are worth 5,250yen? That's more than $50 USD!
  6. I hope the re-issues come with clear green blade made of the same material as alto's visors. That would make it look like it's glowing - just like the anime! I also wished Bandai was listening to some of the suggestions on this forum. tho... as much as we all wish/complain, I don't think they'll redo the DX mold to look more like the model (i don't recall Bandai redoing molds... like they've never released a better mold to the VF-1 after the chunky monkey). It's sold well so why mess with a working formula.
  7. That is a great Masterpiece Jetfire! wish Yamato can make one colored like that and make up some non-canon name for it like "VF-1S red version"
  8. oh yeah you're right after a quick look up. So the quarter is an odd scale of 1:1333. I wonder how accurate the statements of the Bandai quarter being half the height of the Yamato SDF Math: q=size of real quarter r=size of model quarter s=size of real SDF t=size of model quarter 3q=1s 2r=1t t=s/2000 So, 2r=s/2000 2r=3q/2000 r=3q/4000 r=q/1333
  9. For the retooling, I hope they fix up the pilots so they don't all look like alto: Alto: Ozma: Anime Ozma:
  10. I've read that the Bandai Quarter is going to be half the size of the Yamato SDF-1, making it 1/1000 scale
  11. @logos do you have to worry about your macross at work from being stolen???
  12. @vifam7 love the comparison photos! I especially like the one with the plane from Yukikaze. For something that can transform into a robot, the VF-25 looks fairly good alongside jet-only things. Do you also have the newer plane in Yukikaze (the one with the floating bubble cockpit)?
  13. I totally agree with logos there. I don't think my collections will go up in value much but I keep a lot of things MISB because I just can't find it in my heart to open them or sell them. I have a set budget per year for fun things. And it's not changing for this year. I've almost burned through half of it tho
  14. oh yeah i forgot about those. I think they are the pop out ones.... more pieces to lose Overall, from the pics, I'm liking what I see. In regards to the VF-25 coming off as brittle and weak, I think some of the older valks will lend itself better at this since the shoulder of the VF-25 is so narrow
  15. I'm not too fond of the antennas that angle outward: They look like horns. But I am liking how the legs are tighter to the body in fighter mode and the angle of the ventral fins over the DX!
  16. I think the ultimate question on everyone's mind on this thread should be: Do I get Bandai's Macross Quarter or do I get Yamato's SDF-1?
  17. Yeah! Or build real valks like a VF-X-4 as on SDF with a VF-4 body and a VF-1 canopy!
  18. On another note... I wonder if the pieces will be interchangable between the different valks. It'd definitely be cool to mix and match wings/legs/arms so I can put a VF-1S head on a VF-25S body.
  19. The 1/100 VF-25s look really good. To an untrained eye like mine, they look like the DX which I'm OK with. $50 is a little too high for me to consider for a parts former. According to the photos, to transform from robot to gerwalk, I'd have to pull apart almost everything off and re-plug everything in. I'd be OK with that if it was a ~$25 toy but not for double that price. If the price drops, I might pick up a couple to display. Maybe they'll be small enough to sit on the Yamato SDF-1's deck Edit: Added link to photo
  20. I hope they do this SDF-1 well. I don't need another low quality, minimal detail SDF-1. $500 is a lot but considering a SV-51 cost around $210 on HLJ before it went on sale, a huge @ss SDF-1 is worth $500. Transformers MP-04 already cost $210. I think it's fairly reasonable for a toy that isn't going to be as common as MP-04. I'll have to sacrifice a couple VF-1s to get this but if they do a good job I'll pick it up.
  21. During this time I'm been building up my collection. People are selling a lot of their collections on ebay so I've had some good pickings. But prices for toys such as Macross and Transformers Binaltech aren't ridiculously low but more inline with MSRP. I hope everyone here is able to weather the financial storm cuz I really like looking at the photos of your collections. I wish I had so many valks.
  22. LOL... I'd be really disappointed if they turn macross into what transformers has become. Then all the VF-1s will include auto-morph and blinking lights. If they do a SDF-1 i doubt it'll even come close to being on scale with the 1/60 VF-1s. I'm hoping for the monster as it's still large and easier to match their current line of 1/60 toys. And perhaps they can ride the MF wave as there's a monster in it. A enemy mech would be a definite change. perhaps i'll have to resort to the old matchbox robotech toys for that
  23. I'm itching to buy a VF-25F myself to display/play. I still have my Yamato in box. Not willing to open it. If/when yamato comes out with a VF-25, i'd probably keep those in boxes too
