  1. Based on the mention of the show here I started watching AJin - 3 episodes in and a darn good show so far.
  2. They did try the science thing in TNG quite a bit, "Neo-Peptide Cake anyone?" The ones I remembered had bad science and were boring. TOS - did not do science as a plot - it did social commentary which was revolutionary at the time (I am told). Having grown up with "All in the Family" on the TV the need to hide social commentary in a different time zone was long past - but TNG did try that at times too.
  3. I gave up FPSs years ago. Nothing new here. Perhaps they will get rid of the gratuitous swearing in this one though.
  4. I was very disappointed with the resurrection bit. Killing someone requires a sacrifice but bringing one back is just a few snips of hair and reciting mumbo jumbo? Hopefully something more substantial is shown to be needed in the next episode. The other guy that was brought back from the dead - what happened to him and the one who brought him back? I've forgotten and I don't remember any mention of it for awhile now.
  5. Sorry but no. Prime Directive - not in the first episodes, Shuttle - not in the first episodes, Cloaking device, stole it and forgot about it for the rest of the original series, Photons and Phasers using the same sfx, ability to time travel on demand but not used and never actually explained - yes. As for stories not based on "You were born special" - if the original Boy Wonder Captain Kirk doesn't count for TOS doesn't count as close enough to make no difference than nothing does.
  6. I know I'll get roasted for saying it by the animation is terrible. Jerky and looks like bad video game animated sequences from years ago. Mark Hamill's joker voice is superb though. Never would have guessed it was him. I've not seen his other outings as the VA for Joker but just those few lines from this are enough to convince me.
  7. > Once she started hating she threw logic out the window. Oberyn killed in a fair fight? No it was an assassination. That sentence was supposed to be from her perspective - no matter the actual facts she is going to consider it an assassination. When people start to hate like she has facts are ignored.
  8. > but her motivations are just nuts...admittedly maybe that's the point but... Once she started hating she threw logic out the window. Oberyn killed in a fair fight? No it was an assassination.
  9. Cersei gets a healthy dose of humanity in the show, which is a good thing. As for Brienne saving Sansa - besides the clumsy execution of the fight scene it also bugs me as being pretty standard heroic fare - which the show/books avoided for the most part. As for Snow, he will be coming back - but as what is the real question. Pretty nice for the actor in this first episode, playing a corpse is pretty easy if they don't focus on your character for too long (holding your breath being the only real challenge)
  10. I actually saw that one coming, what she was doing is still a question though!
  11. I'm rewatcing Gurren Lagann, for the most part an excellent english dub, only real miss in the VA cast is Nia.
  12. I mean the Magnificent Seven, did you see any of the sequels "Mag 7 ride" "Mag 7 something else", they are BAD, really BAD.
  13. After that dreadful (truly dreadful) season ending episode then can kill off the whole cast.
  14. Saw the trailer and it made my list to see in the IMAX. It just looks incredible.
  15. Not really, he taught her that no matter what she said their would be no consequence - the worst was going to happen either way. (he did not know she had lied when they blew up Alderaan)
  16. How? No matter what a sequel to a movie may bring it does not have any effect on the original (unlike people who may totally mess up their legacy by their future actions). Take Highlander as an example - it is still a great film despite the sequels.
