  1. I thought of him more as someone who went a little crazy from some past trauma. Likes parts of him were just missing. Best episode of this season by far. Last week's was pretty good as well, looking forward to the season finale tomorrow.
  2. I might, MIGHT, watch it on home video.
  3. Great guy, not such a great director. Star Trek Insurrection and First Contact both suffered from directorial issues. But to reiterate - great guy, you gotta give him real credit for walking around in Pajamas during one of Shatner's Trek "Documentaries"
  4. In this particular case they had every right to strike.
  5. I've been rewatching the entire series before the new season starts and noticing a bunch of little bits that I forgot before. I completely forgot who had killed Joffrey and John Arin for example. Just as important I just watched the Wildling attack on Castle Black and the entire episode is incredible. Sam gets some real fleshing out in this episode, scared to death but he keeps his vow to fight - that is real courage. At the same time he is justifying his love for Ghilly.
  6. I've no idea if this is directly related but a legal streaming site supposedly has this available (a bit at a time). The site is currently down however. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-06-20/hidive-anime-streaming-service-launches-with-legend-of-the-galactic-heroes/.117768
  7. To be fair, ships in orbit very rarely see each other. The real problem is that the only ship that seems to EVER be NEAR Earth when there is a crisis is the Enterprise - even when said crisis takes place on the way to the Klingon border. The Yamato Dock appears to be underwater from the other quick shot we have of the guns firing up out of the water - and it would sorta match the original Yamato 2 series, though I think that was in a dock next to the water.
  8. Stephen Furst, best known as Flounder from Animal House has died. I loved his work as "Vir Kotto" from Babylon 5 best however. http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/17/entertainment/stephen-furst-obit/index.html
  9. Dear Yamato 2202 crew, please get the D*MN english translation deal done now!
  10. Back to class - I watched the first three (I think) and stopped recording it after that. Too much teen angst for me - I've not been a teen for FAR too long to care about that any longer. The bad CGI work most of the time didn't help either.
  11. When I think of Batman I still think of him, RIP Caped Crusader.
  12. Cowboy Bebop is one of the shows that actually has a decent chance in a live action version, but still I have doubts.
  13. I can't tell when you guys are pulling my leg, somebody thought this was good?
  14. Agreed, other than Jack Reacher 2 all of his movies in the past decade or so have been good.
  15. I would not have used the word hideous. Otherwise the gist of it would be the same. More along the lines of what I did with that photoshopped picture of "Misa" in the shuttle looking out at Hikaru's fighter.
  16. I call them Nazis in all but name, they sure as heck don't act like the Germans of the time. As for the movie being a record breaker - only by slicing down things in a certain way. Kinda like saying a movie is the highest grossing family comedy of the summer. Not to say it will not do well, making 2/3 of the production budget on the opening weekend with excellent word of mouth is a very good start.
  17. Jack Reacher two was bad. A pity since the first one was a decent action flick. My problem with Top Gun is due to it being from his competition movie phase - and I HATED all of those movies.
  18. That is one hideous picture of Lisa. What drugs is she on? The Minmei one - where did Rick find that Gatchaman helmet?
  19. It was ok, I'm not sorry to have spent the money to see it in the theater but didn't find it exceptional in any way. For a DC franchise movie that is actually saying something.
  20. With the exception of Arrivederci Yamato, that one holds up quite well. Final Yamato is pretty good too, though it has some screwball stuff in it and suffers from Japanese high drama with the death of Shima. The one special ending from one of the video release (I think, there were 3+ different endings if I remember correctly) was well worth it.
  21. > Remember the Red Dawn remake? I try my absolute darndest not to. The original was trash but like a Racoon I pick through it for the juicy morsels. the remake - there are no juicy morsels.
  22. He may not have been the "best" Bond but he was the perfect Bond for the seventies. RIP
  23. The problem is that the difference between yamato 2199 great and garbage is a very thin line.
