    let me correct that for you "Supes role is minor in this story since the other characters are practically not needed if Supes is around". Only time that isn't true if is all the baddies have Kryptonite bullets - which for some strange reason they never do.

    Is it Dunkirk loud? If so I'll pass on seeing it in the theater - Dunkirk was way too loud and I don't know if I could stand nearly three hours of it. At home I can adjust the sound as needed...

    SyFy wire says subscription revenue for CBS all access went up at least 60K a month since Discover premiered. Of course there are those defending that number as being very good, it was at least 1 million per episode of TNG (2 million?). That was 25-30 years ago so 4 million an episode at least today. 60k a month is 15k a week - even if the subscription numbers are off by a factor of 10 that is a massive failure and not something to be happy about.

    Star Trek TMP also takes place years AFTER the original show, not years BEFORE. So advancements in tech make sense - matching the advancements in tech the actual world went through in that time. Interestingly I just recently saw some pictures of what the TV show would have looked like- the uniforms were VERY similar to the old TV series Star Trek. There were two complaints I remember about TMP. First was that the uniforms looked like Pajamas (the fact that the same uniforms were re-used for extras in Star Trek II was mind boggling when I first read it). Second was the pacing was way way off with far too many staring at the main viewscreen shots (like that video showing all of those shots run together with porn sound effects thrown in). All of this is forgiven by the finest model starship EVER to be given the name Enterprise.

    At least that is in character, that pretty much matches how ST has been depicting Klingons since the Start of Next Generation - Star Trek 6 excepted.

    At least he came up with the inspiration for the Daicon IV opening animation.

    Hey! Those guys stole the helmets from the Rebellion in Star Wars. As for a more adult style - it can be done without it ending up looking like that Titan Comics mess. Characters who don't look like pre-teens would be a good start.

    The more I see of Minmei the less I like the character design, is she supposed to be a washed up has been in this version?

    Not been there in decades and the last time I stopped in there were far more video game cartridges then toys. It was however the only place I had ever seen Star Trek Phaser Battle!

    In the same place where the last two disks of Star Blazers 2199 ended up. (that would be limbo at best)

    No - the legal case for HG to own the trademarks is at best in limbo after they lose the rights, my guess is they will be able to keep the trademarks even though they lose the other rights. In the US who had claimed them (trademark) first is a major factor.

    Both used it for the exact same purpose(*) - coming up with something alien would have made it meaningless to the reader. (*) - plenty of other books, shows, movies have used colloquial expressions for aliens as well, I'm not going to get hung up over it.

    My legaleze is not what it should be - what does that court document above mean? Case dismissed, dropped, ruled in one side's favor or another (but with no actual change in status).

    Christmas is good with me, I like cooler weather to go out to a movie anyway. (might sound nuts but it's true)
