Don't worry. Back when Star Wars was new people were complaining then too about the crappy new stuff. All flash and blockbuster nonsense... Don't worry about JJ Trek either - currently actually being worked on as we type. Only script stage so it could go right back in stasis again though.

You don't need to see any of the movies before any of the others. Any plot points that are important are given enough detail to watch each of them individually.

Not like they have much of anything else going on. I wonder how much they have to pay the network to be on the show?

What does the Katakana say? Not surprising - they did have a panel about the Japanese names of the characters appearing in one dimension. More of the spaghetti on the wall plot is all it is. At least my guess.

Finally saw it. It was decent and I don't feel like I wasted money seeing it at the theater (at least I didn't walk out before the ending like I did with the last Godzilla movie) Knights of Ren background - they were a bunch of bully boys that didn't need any more background then they got. The fleet and how it is handled, stupid but, well, ok it was stupid but for some reason it didn't bother me too much. The real problem is that I don't give a rip about any of these characters except the OT holdovers. If I never see Rey, Ren, Poe, Fin, or any of the rest again I don't care. EDIT - darn cool picture!

I could have sworn there was more Who talk since my last post - perhaps in the general TV thread? Anyway - I only just got round to watching the first episode of this season and it was a big step up from last season. Hopefully they can keep it up. Going to be watching episode 2 tomorrow.

Well - this will be the only Star Wars film I did not go see in the theater. Not really a knock on the film since the audience score is good. It will almost certainly be out by mid March and I can wait that long to watch it comfortably at home. Anyone else decide to pass on it till then?

Lost in Space series a Netflix adventure?
Dynaman replied to 007-vf1's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm up to episode 5 and generally liking it except for the other mentioned bits about the Smith character. I'll add to that - their inability to figure out how radios work is truly annoying. It is lazy writing at its absolute worst. The attempts to cover over the lazy writing with bad dialog is even worse then that. -
Plans is too strong a word. The mass of disjointed ideas a writer comes up with and discards along the way is more like it. Sort of like when Lucas says he originally planned a Trilogy - well maybe but that is in no way what ended up on the screen - even with the original trilogy.

If your about my age these short edutainment cartoons still stick in your brain "I'm just a bill..." I didn't know the singer was also in a Star Trek episode. RIP and thanks for entertaining civics lesson! https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/schoolhouse-rock-singer-jack-sheldon-obituary

She is doing fine - the writers are doing terribly however. Almost all her dialog is smarmy evil but trying to sound manipulative. -

Third episode of season 2 slowed things down a bit - which is good. I still think the cast should toss Smith out the airlock. I give the shows props for the Billy Mummy cameo (didn't notice that before) and Dr. Smith's real name being a homage to Jonathon Harris. -
It looks like the Stay-Puft Marshmallow man stuffed himself into a Batman suit. The figure is excellent though.

Watched episode 2 today. My wife and I were both annoyed with Penny's whiny bit and we both would have spaced Smith long ago. We also both find it annoying that there is a disaster to solve every episode. Hopefully they take some time to slow things down (ACK! Did I just say that???) -

Season 2 is up. Watched the first episode and though it didn't scream out the need to watch all the rest right away I am planning on watching episode 2 tomorrow. -
Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Dynaman replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Which is worse, Last Jedi or Clone Wars - I'd go with LJ being worst but maybe I've just blocked most of the CW movie.- 1217 replies

My how times have changed. Lucas was (rightly!) accused of ripping off everyone and every genre under the sun in making his Star Wars films.

We really shouldn't beat M7 to death - the anime itself did that so thoroughly...

Solo actually gets better with repeat viewings - TLJ somehow manages to get worse. Agreed that a Han and Chewie TV show would work.

Or completely right - depending on how you look at it.
