  1. What could be a problem is some kind of parasite thing might find us tasty. Or vice versa. Either is a remote possibility but with millions (billions?) of star systems in the galaxy...
  2. So far all the episodes this season have been good ones. I really like the Tesla episode last week and am looking forward to the Judoon this week.
  3. Voyager and DS9 were Trek to the core. DS9 tried to be edgy and backed off it so quickly it would make your neck snap. Voyager dumped what made it "different" in the pilot episode. By the end of that episode everyone was one big happy family. Sure they kept the pretense for a bit of the first season but it was an afterthought at best.
  4. I won't put a large post on it but ST fans are far too picky and condescending. They are the worst batch of whiners I've ever seen. Get things exactly right (in other words, exactly what they want) or get lambasted. To the point where any change of any kind was heresy. As for Enterprise not being what they wanted. No matter what would have been done it would not be what the fans wanted. No two of them could agree on what they wanted.
  5. It tanked because ST fans had gotten FAR too picky about what was "acceptable" and that was the problem the reboot was trying to handle. Sadly for Trek the old fans are not accepting of anything and there are not nearly enough new fans to make up for it.
  6. But they DIDN'T beat a path to the door. ST Enterprise tanked badly.
  7. Don't give that "it's aliens" guy that looks like a Centauri any more ideas.
  8. That reminds me of a Dukes of Hazzard bit I was watching on youtube (*). One of the stars said they totaled two cars filming every episode - they had two jumps per episode and any car used for a jump was no longer safe to drive. Take a regular car offroad (not just on the median going slowly) and it will need work done. REAL jeeps and such are a different story but even they need more maintenance then our normal cars. (*) - Since the show was mindless at best. I guess flipping through youtube videos really is the modern equivalent of channel surfing.
  9. They had no idea how to end the movie - it was being flimed before the ending was written. They obviously still didn't know how to end it when they finished. The scenes of "Hell" and Reinhartamillion were darn cool (and creepy) though.
  10. Do the FASA designs count as the expanded universe? If so then it isn't even in the top (how many designs did FASA do?)
  11. To be fair they tried to explain it but the explanation didn't make any sense. The minor example being that long sliding to a stop landing (I forget where). The Falcon is quite capable of vtol so at worst it should have just thumped down in place instead of sliding that far.
  12. Lucas did not plot out the OT. He had a large bunch of notes but that is not the same thing. The 2nd two (Empire and RotJ) were more or less plotted out however. Luckily for Lucas however is he was not schizo - which is basically what JJ and Rian end up like when blending their films together.
  13. TOS was the sixties version and did it FAR better. The 30 minute runtime on the animated show probably hurt in that regard. TNG's first three seasons were mostly dreadful for that reason (in a late eighties nineties way) but near the end of the third season they figured out what they were doing wrong and did a course correction.
  14. That and the smarmy seventies "we know best about everything" attitude. And saying it was animated is stretching it a bit - it is barely above Space Angel/Clutch Cargo.
  15. The animated series was really bad, REALLY, bad. Though it did have a couple of good episodes it was just phoning it in.
  16. If nothing else the last few have been better then the last few Bond movies. I was not impressed with the (first) MI movie at all - well I was negatively impressed. (edit - added in edit, forgot to write it first time around)
  17. I'd already read one article saying the case was a go for another movie - of course I then read another one saying the cast could change. If they don't have Pine signed up already and WW is a big hit getting him back may be more then they are willing to pay since they already would have a hefty price tag for Saldana.
  18. Well - Lucas is no longer writing the dialog. There is also only one other actual father/son relationship in the movies but there is Padawan and Master, Clone and Clone Material Source (Clone does call Clone Material Source Dad as well), and Palpatine and whatever the heck Annakin was supposed to be.
  19. Now that they introduced a whole bunch of other ex-stormtroopers they don't need Finn for that TV plotline. I'm guessing Lando and the female ex-trooper that might be his kid are in line for that TV series. They practically put it up in neon lights.
