  1. That beam up picture reminds me of something I just saw on Facebook. "hold up on that beam up Scotty, I'm taking a shi..."
  2. Excellent English version of the song. Thanks for posting it. It does a good job of making the lyrics flow with the music while still keeping the gist of the original. I've heard a couple other versions of the song in English and the singers had to do vocal gymnastics to match up with the music. The only problem is a couple of spots the wording is a little strained but that is inevitable when trying to match lyrics to music.
  3. They got a ride they need to cross promote.
  4. If this comes out in Imax my wife and I are making it our first movie out since 2019. Anything not in Imax we wait for the home release anyway - the theater experience at anything but Imax isn't worth it.
  5. Being a morning person I like the early hours for hotel guests, sleeping late for me means waking up at 7. I don't normally stay till closing time anyway. In regards to paid fastpass, I'm not too bothered by that, I may pay for one ride that is really hard to get on (Slinky for instance). The virtual queue part of the deal is the more interesting. I don't mind waiting an hour between rides as long as I don't have to spend the entire hour in a line. So it really depends on how long the physical line is after waiting in the virtual line. Fifteen minutes would be no problem, Thirty is pushing it, forty-five plus and my Disney days may be done.
  6. At worst it will most likely be forgettable. A few stories based in the Star Wars universe is really nothing that can make or break the franchise - unless perhaps they are all knockouts, which is doubtful. I just hope one or two are excellent and the rest can be OK.
  7. Milo and Otis did well in the states too. It was also a heck of a lot less expensive to film then Clifford must be so did not have to make as much to be a hit. Though if the box office take of 136 is correct that is a heck of a lot of money for any film.
  8. There is quite a bit of action in the later sequels as well. This looks to be all prequel material though and still too much action for a faithful adaptation of any of the books. Then again maybe the trailers are hyping the action when the show itself will not have nearly so much.
  9. Looks cute but if I had to guess it is going to bomb.
  10. Nostalgia usually only lasts a year or so before it fades away so I would say no.
  11. Yup. All I could think was "again?"
  12. I just tried Walkabout the first time last night. The physics are excellent and it has a great presentation. The other golf game I have (Cloudlands 2 on PC) the physics are not quite as good but the ability to make your own courses is a real plus.
  13. It made me sick watching it and it was at best uninspired. It was pretty faithful to the source material - and SR was not about racing (that was a sideline), it was about a spy who thought he was a racer OR a Monkey and Kid hiding out in car trunks - take your pick.
  14. Agree on Vader. I have all three chapters (free with headset when I purchased) but I've only played the first one so far. I started like you did, mainly for exercise or at leas to stand instead of sitting at the PC, and just recently started using it more for fun as well. The headset is still too heavy and Field of View is still too small for being a monitor replacement for the PC - or for more general use. I do plan to start using it more for virtual miniature golf (I have cloudlands on the PC for playing wirelessly and just picked up walkabout mint golf) and FPS games and flight sims. The next Quest is supposed to have a better eyepiece for the Field of View. I'll be looking out for that one. EDIT - and since working from home, using the same Mouse, Keyboard and Monitor I work with, it is nice to get up from the computer and stand a while - even moreso when it is not possible to go outside and walk.
  15. I've finally been putting mine to use. I had a Quest 1 and bought the 2 a couple months back when wireless VR was released. My favorite titles right now are Star Wars Pinball and Tales from Galaxy's Edge. The pinball implementation in SW Pinball is spot on and the ability to collect "stuff" for the pinball room is kinda fun. Galaxy's Edge is not what I expected and not a stand out title really but it is solid. The voice acting is solid as is the gameplay and visuals. Though the aiming is wonky. Next up is Moon Rider (search for it in the web browser). It is a free version of Beat Saber that has a much better song selection for an old fart like me. On the FPS side is Contractors and another Onward. I've tried Contractors and will get back to it once I finish the Tales from Galaxy's Edge game. Contractors at least is very good and Onward has a good rep from what I've seen. On the PC connect side Star Wars Squadrons is very good but it makes me motion sick is not time flat. Though I am getting better at other games so I might give it another try. The constant turning in that game is just brutal though. I also use Maps for VR quite a bit, it is a lot of fun to explore an area in 3D at about the height you would actually be if walking around. From SteamVR I play the Virtual Railroad game Rolling Line a good bit.
  16. I think I have to own that when it comes out. Depending on how the controls work of course.
  17. I've been going to "Classics" (they can't really be classics, they were written in my lifetime). The Ringworld novels and the related Man-Kzin wars series. Soon I'll pick up the latest in "The Lost Fleet" book series and then back to Man-Kzin and other classics. Perhaps the Rama series.
  18. Back to Disney. Fireworks are back! Three hotels are opening up by end of August. Park capacity has been increased again. Finally it looks like all social distancing is gone. Now what are they going to do with Fastpass+ and Virtual Queues? A number of rumors there.
  19. Hands Free- Is that the new buzzword for "It aint our fault if the car gets into an accident"? Other drivers on the road is why it is so draining to drive long distances. There is only so much white knuckle driving I can handle. My wife and I are also at the point where we can't drive in the dark after driving all day - we usually get started before the sun goes up but that is when we are rested. And no thanks for a car that is not Full Self Driving. I find it more dangerous to have the car normally drive but the driver has to take over if it does something unexpected. That is a recipe for an accident on long trips. I only use the cruise on the near empty bits of road and there are not enough of them as is.
  20. *IF* self driving cars became a reality in the true sense (not needing to watch the road and take over) I would probably let the car drive me anywhere in the US. Till then, not likely for anything less then a month long stay. (not at Disney mind, anywhere).
