    Star Wars. No other movie has come close to shaping my interests. I hated scifi before that.

    Not a movie I plan on seeing but a Seventy Five Million domestic opening weekend is nothing to sneeze at. A very good indicator for future movies.

    Dune is a product of it's drug culture (and counter culture) time. I found it middling at best but a decent read.

    I give him real credit for that. If you were to describe the physical features of the nasty villain type Clarence Bodicker is NOT it. Then Kurtwood Smith pulls it off and becomes one of the classic villains of all time.

    I don't assign any blame to Craig. After 9/11 the studio didn't think the old Bond formula would work any longer and they deliberately changed the character. Even at the time I thought that was a mistake and after 20 years the studio may be thinking it is time to bring more of the old formula back as well.

    Somewhere around where you jumped ship things start going back to basics. It ends with a strong focus on the core set of characters from the first books.

    I remember PG-13 as being a way to rate some things that otherwise would have been rated R. The real difference is what we consider PG now is not what we consider PG then. And not to forget that PG stands for Parental Guidance which means parents have to make a call for their kids.

    Maybe I'll watch it when it gets to HBO but even that is iffy. I'll not even say decent, dreck is the term I would use.

    I can't remember enough of the early books to know how faithful it is to the story. Things do gain complexity throughout the series though and the first three are a good bit different from the later books.

    Seeing that trailer reminded me exactly what I don't really think of Craig's Bond as Bond. He looks like a street tough in a suit. All the other Bonds looked like dangerous upper crust types in a suit. Trailer looks good though.

    It is a tossup who is my favorite screen Santa, his or Edmund Gwenn from Miracle on 34th street (the original). Rest in Peace and thanks for the excellent characters.

    Then again, if you have Netflix and are interested it is "free". Worst you can do is decide you don't like it and turn it off.

    Considering what Ein is capable of in the Anime it might have been best to have computer animated him, he doesn't act like a normal dog most of the time. (I don't remember is Ein male or female?).

    They always sound confident till the box office receipts come in. I'm hoping he does get the chance to do the second two though.

    Hard to get worked up over a blatantly bad guy turned good guy's ship getting renamed too.

    That has changed due to Disney park price policies and how they ramp up for Halloween. It is less crowded the last week or so in August and the First week in September, except for Labor Day and the weekends of course.

    It is also the slowest time of the year right now. Late August Florida schools are back in session along with other states. It used to be called Jersey summer since New Jersey schools do not start till after Labor Day. Being from Jersey that is when we took our kids to the park. For the Star Cruiser the prices are totally insane, about what I expected. I will not be going to it anytime soon though.

    The $15 a day each is not a deal breaker for me. We just cancelled the Disney hotel and went with a nearby Marriott. Now to see if the number of rides and wait times are worth it. If not my Disney days may be done.

    I don't think I have ever owned a NERF gun, that will change.

    Maybe it is just the lighting (and I hate to give Enterprise the top nod in a Yamato thread) but the Enterprise is absolutely incredible (and all of them are great too).

    I had to go back through his movies and was expecting my answer to be "Hell No". He did direct Pearl Harbor and the romantic subplot in that was actually pretty good (and Kate Beckinsale) even though as anything approaching history it was a mess. So my answer goes to "I'd actually look at reviews before shooting it down".

    Looking forward to that one. Nice Retro look and seems like it will run smooth as glass on just about any system.

    I like plenty of crap but this is not that. Things that fall into that category include "The Green Slime", "The Black Hole", "Quark" and "The Uncle Floyd Show".

    Now I see where the "Executive Producer" bit is coming in. Zero Mostel would be proud!
