  1. Just saw it, what a mess of a movie. Was going to say more but will leave it at heavy handed political diatribe is the best way to describe the film. Think Star Trek at it's preachy worst and you have this film. It did not help that I could not understand 90% of what the bad guy was saying.
  2. to paraphrase someone else "Her English is a heck of a lot better then my Japanese", she looks a lot better then me too. I do have to wonder about the person that came up with the marketing campaign though.
  3. Speaking of worst companion, chameleon is up there, but I would be happy to see K9 back for a spell. (edit) - They need to get the show to be more Doctor focused. The reboot has been more of an arch about the companions where the original was focused on the Doctor being the driver of the plot. And last bit of rambling - I was VERY happy to be rid of Rose's family... At least Quote works on this machine...
  4. Did the forum software change recently? I can't copy or paste anything (or quote). The Daleks found the Dr. Information from one of the people they dalekized. I never understood the hate for Bonnie Langford's companion, she was one heck of a lot better then Tegan and Turlough THEY were the worst comapanions ever. (No reflection on the actors that play them, Tegan's actress is very funny to listen to when she does commentary on her time in DW). As for Clara, no hating allowed for a lovely lady running around in a Plaid Miniskirt! The episode itself was not the best I agree.
  5. Well, it looked good till the "robot" started talking, well, then the truth came out.
  6. The first one was mediocre, at best. Well, if I can ignore Hunger Games 2 I can ignore this.
  7. Wesley Snipes for sure on that role. On to more Remake Madness, just read that Gilligan's Island is getting a movie.
  8. That is as bad as trying to make a Pink Panther movie without Peter Sellers. The very idea that they made one with Alan Arkin just baffles the mind.
  9. I've seen high quality toys for other Disney films so they do them. If there is a Niche then Disney WILL fill it.
  10. I think it looks decent. Rather then Groundhog day it reminds me more of "The Time Traveller's Wife" (with pew pew), even though it appears that he dies over and over to go back to the start.
  11. Looking good actually. I just hope they don't go overboard like the did with Matrix 2 and 3. on my list to see next summer.
  12. that was great fun, thanks!
  13. The Star Blazers website has more information. Prices are 34.99 for DVD and 44.99 for Blu-Ray for the first disc. Disc 1-5 have 4 episodes and disc 6 will have 6 episodes.
  14. I don't remember if the baby was awake, but child actors were carrying the baby in the car seat - and even if not awake babies have this annoying habit of waking up at the worst times. What was my point? Oh yeah, baby was strapped in so they could evacuate her quickly. (although realistically it would have been faster without the car seat - regulations will be somewhat more lax in the zombie apocalypse)
  15. Second season of Spice and Wolf, I'll have to start watching again!
  16. You got mine right there. I love that version of Annie. Another one I love, and this is the season for it, is "Scrooge" with Albert Finney (no NOT Scrooged with Bill Murray). A musical version of the book done in 1970 with Alec Guinness as Jacob Marley. Albert Finney does excellent work here, his ability to transform himself into the stooped over feeble looking Scrooge is amazing. (bonus - Albert Finney is in Annie too of course)
  17. That was a horrible bit of marketing but I'll be picking these up. If the price is not outlandish.
  18. Looks great to me!
  19. Hikuro, you are over thinking this, especially considering that Moffat is known to lie from time to time.
  20. Saw it last night in a theater packed with a bunch of Nerds (self most assuredly included!). The Doc's favorite Sontaran Strax (I think) started off the fun by telling everyone proper theater etiquette, then the Doctors do a little stint. Those two alone almost made up for the 30 MINUTES of filler they stuffed in before the show started. As for the show itself, loved it. Loved the little featurette at the end as well as the narrator.
  21. To expand on Dobber's comment a little. The sub just noticed a juicy opportunity and took it. I think they were part of the group that no longer consider Earth and Yamato a threat, by Geur's comments he was still working with Desslar. I'm really looking forward to a "Yamato 2201" series. Hopefully there will be one. The changes that would be needed for that would be interesting...
  22. A 1% failure rate IS horrible. The real problem is ever since computers came along the collective "we" is taking that kind of thing for granted. Depending on what is actually happening (is it really a failure or just being plugged into something that does not follow the rules of the hardware being plugged into?) it could be a major black eye or just a bad warning condition. A blinking blue light would make more sense if it was instead a display saying "your TV does not appear to be compatible" or some such.
  23. Yes, the first one was set during 4th of July and came out a few years after the original. The latest one came out in the last couple years and has the incredibly creative title of "A Christmas Story II". The few online reviews for it say it is terrible. As for the Wonderful LIfe sequel, after reading a summary of the proposed plot I think Beevus and Butthead did it better. Their Christmas Episode is one of the best. (The proposed plot is the Grandson of the originals is a bad person and Zsu Zsu's ghost shows him how much better the world would be without him, the actress who played Zsu Zsu is still alive and will play the ghost)
  24. What a bad idea. Most likely going to end up in the same category as the Christmas Story sequels.
  25. Noticing how the original question was phrased it is easy to see why such things give a film an R rating.
