  1. After Earth was not that bad, certainly not great but not the stinker it has been made out to be. What people really seem to be upset with is the Nepotism involved. To quote the famous puppet show. Henry Fonda - Millions of actors say nepotism is a terrible problem in this industry. Report - Which actors would that be. Fonda - My family...
  2. Syfy had a blurb about the movie and it sounds interesting. Part of it takes place in 84, another part in the early nineties, and a third part in 2003 or so. From the description the film ties together the first three movies. The one quote I remember from the article was "who is going to play 'Bill Paxton'"?
  3. Put me down for the boring episode crowd, except for the ending - that was good. Parts of the episode were OK, when Daryl was talking for instance.
  4. The roar sounded better this time, don't know why. Syfy had a trailer posted a couple days ago as well and it sounded more like a whimper.
  5. HAVE to comment on the ad, AWESOME!!! Now to finagle a way into getting out to LA October 4th
  6. That looks very nice. Hopefully the Rebels series will keep the best part of CW while dumping the cheesy stuff. The "political" episodes in CW are mind-numblingly terrible while the Clone episodes are usually very good.
  7. The Lego version I would want to see, the live action one I saw a trailer for - not even a rental.
  8. Leo might work on RT, if it EVER gets going, but to have not worked on Star Wars (TODAY, that film is shooting in the next couple of months) so he could be in RT (which has NO shooting schedule yet) is beyond unbelievable.
  9. I had NO interest in seeing a movie about a Raccoon from a comic book, till this trailer. If the idea was to get the interest of those who have no idea what the source material is then it worked.
  10. Really par for the course over there, a recent post said that Pacific Rim was simply a way to test the waters for the LAM...
  11. Another reboot? The last one was awesome. (some did not like the CGI of the characters but I did not mind and the story was far better done the older one). I'll still watch this one of course, what we really need is a Black Magic M-66 remake, although the original for that is pretty hard to beat too.
  12. Looks like they are trying to kill the live action Akira (if this guy gets it then it is DOA at any rate). http://www.blastr.com/2014-2-10/new-akira-director-promises-big-changes-two-dimensional-anime-version Next thing you know they will let Paul Verhoeven direct a movie version of Starship Troopers...
  13. This is coming to the local Imax theater on February 28th, if anyone wants to see you may want to check your local Imax theater schedule to see if it is coming to your area as well.
  14. I loved that costume. At least you knew he was the Doctor. Peter Davison's took a while to grow on me though.
  15. The problem is that although they most likely would not win that would not stop them from suing.
  16. The new Who costumes have been bland but that one takes it to a whole new level of bland. He might as well be working in an office.
  17. (never saw a topic on this before so starting this one). Hopefully this is of the same caliber as 12 Monkeys and Brazil, Terry Gilliam at his best is some of the best scifi on the screen. http://www.blastr.com/2014-1-27/new-trailer-pops-terry-gilliams-latest-crazy-sci-fi-movie
  18. I doubt HG just woke up one day and figured out the Breach of Contract business. They HAVE a legal staff and they should have known. "This stinks like yesterday's diapers"... (assuming HG did know about it, I thought the VP people got HG's permission ahead of time but I was not following it that closely)
  19. It could be titled "Yo! Gundam Gundam" Although Gundam is slightly better known then most other anime (other then Transformers...) it would not matter what title they chose to use since none of them are well enough known here in the states to make a difference.
  20. The problem for a plane/robot is weight and complexity. Complexity - we don't even have viable humanoid robotic suits yet, close, but not just yet. (at least not without an external power supply or just a battery which would NOT work for a practical plane). Weight - Many parts for a Robot would be wasted in plane mode (and vice versa). A Valk, being a high performance fighter, needs to have max power to weight ratios (and these days stealth) to be anything other then a target. As an example, the "feet" of a valk are the thrust nozzles in fighter mode - in a real plane if those are even a little off in shape it throws performance way off, and the process that makes a good thrust nozzle makes for very poor "feet".
  21. I have liked everything he does, even the things I didn't think I would from the description of the show.
  22. Have to figure out why I can not quote or paste on this machine... Kili was shot by a poisoned arrow, one of the orcs directly states it. I was not impressed, the ending was at a terrible spot, now all the "good" stuff will be in the third movie (battle with Smaug and battle of the five armies). I was sorely tempted to wait for the DVD on this movie and only watched it today on impulse (to see it in Imax on the last weekend it will probably be out). Third movie will surely be a rental.
  23. Mecha, you are REALLY pushing for items 3 and 4 in your rant there. It is like you were looking for reasons to hate the film.
