Doom, Dead Space, any modern horror game really. Without going into any plot details I was VERY unimpressed with last night's episode. Just lame.

Mystery Science Theatre 3000 Kickstarter
Dynaman replied to boinger's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Try the RiffTrax live shows (Santa Claus Meets the Ice Cream Bunny in a few week.) for a closer fix on that MST3K feel. No puppets, no SOL, but the live audience and the riffers shown on the side of the screen really add to the experience, and the shorts that they add in as well. -

I don't like kickstarters but I may back this one, since there really is no other way more MST3K could be made. -
I didn't even know they could make a regular studio style movie for that much any more. I was really shocked when I saw that. Not shocked when I heard how badly it did but taken in context of actual losses it is NOWHERE near the worst...

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time II: The Quickening
Dynaman replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Do yourself a BIG favor and don't watch either. Turned it off in the middle, vapid, boring, and stupid - and the those are the complimentary things I have to say about the film.- 854 replies

My definition, take an Austin Powers movie and replace the jokes - you have a Bond film.

Just read a rant on another site (CNN if anyone cares). In a nutshell the guy was upset that he went to see a James Bond movie and ended up seeing a James Bond movie... WHY do they allow such idiots to post things I do not know.

Well, he was for an episode or two - and then they totally hosed the character. That said he still has my favorite line of all time "Ah Worf, EAT any good books lately?"

An ST dodge at best, bad places are outside the Federation - even though all the people there are humans from the looks of things. There are other examples, The loony bin in the original series, Harry Mudd (need I say more about there being no money?), the prison planet in the original series. Gene tried to come up with a society without money or crime or (internal) war and found out that it made for BOOOORING tv.

Perhaps they should just call their new channel "CBS; All Star Trek"? http://www.startrek.com/article/new-trek-animated-series-announced

Greatest American Hero is probably a good candidate for a Reboot. The original kinda tried to tell an ongoing story with the hero getting used to the suit but TV at the time would not allow a continuing plot like that. Now they can use the whole season to handle an ongoing plot.

I see two possibilities. 1 - They are going to try and use this show to jump start their online channel. 2 - They are thinking the show will not appeal enough on TV to be worth the time slot. In either case the budget for the show will give a good clue.

They are focusing on her character WAY too much. If your character is not named Rick, Daryl, the kid, or Rishone and the stories seem to start focusing on you, better call the agent!

Can't argue with that, but I was laughing at it most of the time (and that is not a joke) and I don't think it was meant to be a comedy.

Too true! Watching some of the Hartnell and Troughton series are downright painful at times, some of Pertwee's suffer as well, but by the middle of his run they stopped padding them so badly - there was the occasional stinker still however...
