Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu - May 22, 2026

There are two kinds of kids. Teenagers (and preteens) and children. Mando looks to be aimed at the former (which is what I was when SW originally came out). Skeleton Crew was aimed at the latter.- 99 replies

Yup, where the budget was obviously cut a bit was the number of extras and the limited size of the sets due to the use of the zone, it looked great but limited movement.- 99 replies

I might be an outlier but I found the original Tron movie boring, stilted, and badly acted (or directed - I've certainly seen the two leads give far better performances in other projects).. The FX were interesting but the extras seemed to be wearing ill fitting sweat suits - and that really annoyed me for some reason.

Finally saw it yesterday and boy am I glad I did not pay the money to see it in a theater. The only real problem is that it was lackluster. And the lead just didn't have me believing he was Superman (I didn't like the previous Superman movies but I bought into Cavill as being Superman). A bit of the other three supers was OK (when being used for comedy) but they really didn't need to be there at all. The final kicker is if Lex can create a pocket universe Superman should have been no problem at all.

Can't argue there but the machine gun crossbow and Elf archer with the deadpan delivery (is that genius acting or REALLY BAD acting). makes the show. Or was it Jack Palance chewing up the scenario, the script, and everything else the draw? Or perhaps the dialog between the dwarf and giant? Rifftrax does a riff on this one, so that adds to the fun too.

Never saw that in a theater. Might be worth a trip to IMAX.

Speaking of Deathstalker. Anyone else wish they would do a remake of Hawk the Slayer? Too bad Jack Palance is no longer with us.

Deathstalker eh? I'll watch it when it comes out streaming. I have fond memories of it - or was it The Sword and the Sorcerer - or a mix of both...

My kids played it over and over again. My PC was on the other side of the basement and I remember hearing some old western tunes OVER and OVER again. Also something about a creature on the bunny slope...

Is it just my PC or is that the herky jerkiest video in a long time - especially considering it is supposed to be an ad.

Even if I had P+ I still would not be inclined to watch this. Then again when I had P+ the only show I bothered to watch in the last couple years was SNW.

Everybody will get a turn, but Sam is the BEST for that part (according to me).

They made a whole boatload of Pink Panther films without the Pink Panther. (remember - the Pink Panther was the Diamond in the first film). Jokes aside, Tron is more of a universe then a character.
