Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Graham replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I thought this season was far better than season 3, although still needed more clone-based episodes. I personally liked the General Krell arc the best, although the episode where they fought on speeder bikes with those cool sidecars that could pivot back 90 degrees against Commando Droids was pretty cool. I remember seeing that crash on the news when it happened. Reading up on that guy's career, he seems a real dick and should have been grounded long, long before. Graham

I don't have any Aoshima/Toynami Tread toys, only CM's Tread & Legioss. To be honest the Aoshima/Toynami Tread looks too blocky to me and having the Tread's cockpit folding exposed on the chest really kills it for me. I think CM's came up with a much more elegant soluton for the Tread's cockpit in Armo-Soldier mode. Graham

To be honest, the Hi-Metal line didn't really impress me very much. The VF-19 toys had a nice battroid mode sculpt, but the fight mode was pretty horrible. Yamato really nailed their VF-19 sculpt. Bandai however IMO, did a horrible job with the overall shape of the cockpit, plane nose and area behind the cockpit. Just wrong, wrong, wrong. Then of course there was the whole fiasco with the inability to connect the gunpod in fighter mode and the cop-out 'sit the plane on thevlanding gear' solution they came out with. The VF-1 was a bit better, but the glued on intake on mine really killed it for me and I would rather pay slightly more for the 1/60 or 1/48. If they had concentrated on other more unique VFs besides the VF-1, maybe the line would have done better. Graham

I'd pay to see that Hungry Hippos movie. That is all kinds of awesome. Graham

I think it's pretty cool that there is a movie about Yamato still making toys in the year 2199. Wonder what sort of awesome Macross toy's they'll make by then! Oh wait........ Graham

On the subject of MTF, I popped it into the PSP yesterday, for the first time in ages to play while semi-drnk (ala Focker.....LOL!) and could not remember what is the button combination to press to get the legs to come down in fighter mode to do a reverse thrust. Not talking about Gerwalk mode (duh!). I mean you are in fighter mode and the legs just come down for a second to slow yo down and then go back up into fighter mode again. I'm sure this used to be possible. Graham

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
Graham replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
To be honest, until a Macross game is released on Vita or Android, the only type of gaming I'm into now is smartphone gaming. Really enjoying the back-to-basics pick-up-n-go simplicity. No interest in bloated PC games at all. Currently playing: Monster Shooter, DGunners SP, Pew Pew 2, Radiant HD, Air Attack HD & ShadowGun. Graham- 6756 replies

No thanks. Watched the original Gundam TV series years ago and it is really, really not for me. I really can't stomach the MS designs, the rational behind the MS, Minovski particles or the style of mecha combat. Or the angst! Graham

The ship looks really CG. I wish they would bring back actual physical models. Graham -
I must admit, I did buy all the Frontier TV series and movie DVDs. Bought from Amazon.jp. If I like a series, I'll support it and buy the original DVDs. The last English subbed DVD anime set I bought was the Votoms set and that was years ago. Graham

The 1:1 VF-25 is interesting, but I find myself quite unexcited by all the other 30th anniversery activities announced so far. I mean a stage musical and a Miss Macross contest.....yawn! I was hoping for an announcement of at least a new OVA. Graham

Armarauders-Toy Line with Comics
Graham replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That's quite a nice mecha design. I'd probably by that toy. It's rare for a non-Japanese design team to actually be able to design nice looking Japanese style mecha. Graham
