Well, one of my lower level contacts got back to me, he confirmed it is still the same CEO, the company hasn't been sold, they want to diversify apparently. But my contact didn't know whether they will carry on with 1/60 PV Macross toys. Waiting for someone higher up the food chain to get back to me. Grahm

Always nice to see Macross 7 footage. I sure hope Gamlin and VF-17D/S is unlockable as a playable pilot and mecha. Hope Gamlin, Max & Milia are not just in the game as brainwashed bad guys Would be nice if these Super Dimensional Seminars showed more actual gameplay. Graham

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Graham replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Episode 17 started really well, I thought we were gonna get a full-on battle episode with Clones liberating a planet from Seperatist, but it quickly went down hill when Anakin and Ahsoka got recalled to the Jedi temple and it turned into a CSI type 'who done it' episode Yes, the CSI stuff was well done visually, but damn it I wanted a large scale battle with Clones slagging droids. Well, once the CNY holiday is over here and shops reopen, I'm scouring them for whatever I can find. Graham

Oh well, if this is Yamato's swansong, it's a great way to go out. Fantastic design and engineering, possibly only equaled only by their excellent VF-19 series toys. Graham

So the answer to this thread title is now "nothing". Graham

Yes, did read. No mention of new PV 1/60 VF toys. Not even any existing VFs on display at their booth. And we all know how well Hikaru dolls sell, ask Noel. I hope they are not going the 'dolls are easier and cheaper to produce route' and giving up on transforming VFs. Graham

Hope I'm wrong and I'll attempt to find out. I wanted my VF-17S Milia, as well as the other three things that I knew were planned. Sorry, I'm a VF guy, mandolls just don't cut it for me. Graham

Very sad to see Yamato go. Really the end of an era Like many of us here, I've been collecting their Macross toys since their first 1/72 YF-19 release and I've had the added benefit of having good friends in the company. Although in they past year communication has been spotty. This name change is a complete surprise to me. Any sort of corporate rebranding, renaming or restructuring is always a worrying sign IMO. And if the're were no new or even old transforming Macross toys at the Acadia booth or website, that is further cause for concern Hope they haven't given up on transforming Macross toys as being too difficult, too expensive, etc. Graham

I've got a bad feeling about this. Hope I'm wrong. Graham

Just experimenting and found that a wet cotton bud (q-tip) and dish washing liquid (detergent) seems to work pretty well Graham

Can somebody remind me what is the easiest and safest way to remove the rainbow tint finish from Yamato 1/60 VF-1 v2 canopies? I was just checking my v2 VF-1 toys and noticed two (VF-1A Hikaru and VF-1S low-vis Focker) where the rainbow finish is cracking and flaking off. Graham

With all the recent posts and pics of the VF-4G, VF-17D and VF-19P in the other threads, it's easy to overlook and forget just how awesome a toy the v.2 1/60 VF-1 really is. Despite being an older toy, it still has outstanding design, engineering and details. The current 30th anniversary version with improved and easier crotch locking, updated shoulder hinges, clear canopy and option parts is the definitive VF-1 toy IMO. Graham

Used Nippon Yassan many times and yes they are legit. Graham

I applied a thin film of super glue to the missile tabs and let it dry before putting the missiles back on. The missiles while still removable are now much more secure. Graham

1/60 DYRL Hikaru VF-1S is white/grey. All the DYRL VF-1S/VF-1A are white/grey Only the TV versions use the bright white plastic, e.g. TV VF-1S Focker and TV VF-1J Hikaru. Hikaru's DYRL VF-1A is callsign 011. Hikaru's DYRL VF-1S is callsign 001. Graham

I recently ordered the DYRL VF-1S Hikaru with option parts and also the Super/Strike parts from Nippon-Yassan and they just arrived today. Attached are photos of the current 30th Anniversary packing. This is the latest packing. Graham

Go for a 1/60 scale version 2. Get the latest releases with the extra option parts (side covers and raised pilot seat for display in battroid mode). Also, the latest versions have the benefit of not having the rainbow finished canopy which occasionally could crack and peel and they also have the revised hip locking which is easier to transform. As for whether you decide on the VF-1J or VF-1S (TV or DYRL), that's really up to your personal taste and preference. I personally prefer the DYRL Hikaru VF-1S, as I'm far more of a DYRL fan than I am a SDFM Macross TV fan. They are all good toys, whatever you end up getting. Graham

Mm, quite. The outpouring against those of us who dare to express an opinion that we have no interest in jrpgs is quite surprising. The majority of Macross games have always been action oriented, be it Scrambled Valkyrie, Macross 2036, VF-X, VF-X2, MPGE, M3, VO, Macross Since 1983, the PS2 DYRL game, MAF, MUF (all of which I've owned & played). While many of us old timers have no problem using Japanese/English dictionaries or trawling the internet for translated help guides, I think what we/I'm saying is we hope the jrpg aspect is minimised, or at least there is an option to skip the jrpg aspect. While having a story is good, VF-X2's story was great, as was M3's, (even if the game play was crap), I hope there is not endless screens of chat between characters in this game. Graham
