  1. I really wish the movie would follow the comic uniform and helmet, as Planet Replicas have shown they can make make a fantastic looking version that is faithful to the comic and with a helmet that does not look too large unlike the movie helmet. And with 35 years of comic backstory to draw from, I would have loved to see one of the Dredd mega-epics make it into film, such as The Cursed Earth, The Judge Child Quest, The Pit, Necropolis, Apocalypse War, Day of Chaos etc, etc., rather than this very small scale story they have come up with. The only actor who should really play and voice Dredd is a younger Clint Eastwood, unfortunately he's a bit too old now. Still, they can do wonders with CGI. I really think Dredd would work much better as an ultraviolent anime type series, rather than a live action movie. There would be fewer limitations caused by lack of budget then. And for you American's who's only exposure to Dredd was that grud-awful Stallone movie, go read some of the above-mentioned graphic novels. Graham (Proudly reading Judge Dredd/2000AD since 1977)
  2. I haven't played Teken in years, used to enjoy it. Graham
  3. Saw the movie yesterday and loved it. Planning to go see it a second time and will definitely buy the DVD when it's out. Given how adept the Engineers (Space Jockeys) are at genetic/biological engineering, I didn't find anything in Prometheus that obviously contradicted anything in Alien or Aliens. The way I look at it, they have probably created many different types of biological weapons, which all evolve differently (or not). Anyway, great movie. Best movie I've seen since Inception. My only complaint, it was too short. Graham
  4. Well said. Graham
  5. Kinda disappointed no M7 PS3 game included though That woulda finally made me cave in and buy a PS3. Graham
  6. VF-11B/C is worse in that regard. The VF-4 looks stunning so far. Graham
  7. Can't remember their names, but my son just got two more of the Vortex blasters for his birthday as presents from his classmates. The pump action rifle with the 10rd magazines and the single disc pistol. We already had the 5-shot pistol (actually it's 6 shot if you chamber a disc and then load one more), so now we have 3 vortex guns Graham
  8. The last modern animes to attract me enough to watch them were Macross Frontier (duh!), Black Lagoon, Sky Crawlers and Gundam Unicorn. Apart from those titles, I have absolutely no interest in any modern anime, especially recent TV series. Maybe I'm just getting too old (43) and my tastes are changing, but I just can't stomach what I've seen of modern anime. Quite happy to rewatch the 80s' classics though and anything Macross. Graham
  9. May rent on DVD later. Never a big DC and Batman fan. Saw the first two Nolan Batman movies at the cinema with friends, but to be honest, was not that impressed. Saving my cinema budget for Expendables 2 instead. Graham
  10. Finally have time to watch this at the cinema tomorrow. More than a week later than I planned, but oh well. Graham
  11. Beautiful work, but I cant help thinking a black horizontal stipe on the middle of the lower leg and a black horizontal stripe on the forward fuselage/nose terminating in a point would have made it look so much better and more Focker-ish. Graham
  12. Really busy with work recently. Still reading the forums, just no time and no news to post. Graham

    DX VF-25G

    Not going to preorder this, as never that keen on the VF-25G. However, if I stumble accross one in a retail store, for a reasonable price after release, I might pick one up. Graham
  14. Didn't we just have a thread about this? Graham

    SCOOP thread!

    I'd love to see another writer tackle the next macross anime. However, only Kawamori should be allowed to do the mecha designs for the VFs. While Tenjin is a fantastic artist at illustrating other peoples designs, he has yet to prove that he can design VFs himself, that fit the in-universe style. Graham
  16. Yep, fantastic author, read loads of his works as a kid. Time for some re-reading I think. Graham
  17. Ah, right, I stand corrected then Anyway, its a quite a fun game, controlling a guy in space armour, running around shooting various aliens (no idea who any of them are though, or why I need to kill them, shoot first and ask questions later and all that.....hahaha) Graham
  18. Mass Effect Infiltrator on Android is a passable smartphone FPS. Great graphics, but the controls are a bit clunky espcially for aiming and using biotics. I also dislike the way you have to kill things in a 'stylish' way to earn credits to buy upgrades. I just wanna kill things in the quickest, most efficient and safest way possible, without having to worry about whether I'm being stylish or not. Overall, I rate Gameloft's Modern Combat 3, N.O.V.A. 2 and N.O.V.A. 3 as being far better smartphone FPS games with far easier to use and intuitive controls for aiming, shooting and moving. Graham
  19. Pics please and I'll make sure Yamato sees them. Graham
  20. We get it here on Thursday Graham
  21. Need to see more, but Bandai-Enemas game could have promise, as long as it has a chase plane view like MUF and is mostly combat and not some stupid academy dating sim type thing like MTF. Graham
  22. Just bought downloaded the EA Mass Effect Android game, but haven't tried it yet. No idea about Mass Effect, beyond it's a sci-fi FPS about aliens invading Earth (that's the grand sum total of my knowledge......LOL!) Graham

    Bandai = EPIC FAIL :(

    I didn't say it was out. I said I have a preorder with ishop2go. Graham

    Bandai = EPIC FAIL :(

    I also have one of my VF-171EX pre-orders with iShop2go, but so far haven't received any order cancellation or refund email from them. Will post here if I do. Graham
  25. Disappointed that Hasbro seems to have given up on The Clone Wars figures. Graham
