Well, the YF-30 at least still has it's beam gun pod, even if nothing else. But I still think the missile launcher having to pop up in fighter mode and then rotate 90 degrees so the long side is face-on (inducing more drag) in order to fire is pretty silly. Graham Graham

Based on the pics we've seen so far, the YF-30 seems a bit underarmed, especially compared with the YF-29. There does not appear to be any hip/wingroot guns. Although there are two things that could possibly be guns in the battroid's lower torso (see notes on attached pics). And no heavy beam cannon turret, unlike the YF-29. No arm shield, although perhaps the vertical stabilizers (tail fins) are strengthened and act in conjunction with pin point barriers, like on the YF-21/VF-22? And as there is no arm shield, that means no storage for a PPB Knife, unless it is stored elsewhere, such as in the lower leg. It looks like the large missile launcher pod has to be in the deployed position in fighter mode to fire missiles and even with strengthened Over-Technology materials, there is still going to be a speed limit at which it can safely deploy, which means no missiles if going too fast. Also, it would create a lot of drag in the firing position. To be honest, this missile pod seems extremely impractical for fighter mode. Possibly some micro-missile ports on the lower legs (see notes on attached pics), but not sure. If not, that woulkd seem to be another step backwards from the YF-29. Don't get more wrong, I love the look of the YF-30 in all three modes, especially fighter mode, but I'm just not liking that damn missile pod and the way it needs to deploy in fighter mode to fire. My phone's screen is higher resolotion than my laptop, so it was much easier to read the word "SIEGFRIED" on my phone's screen. Graham

    Macross 30

Notice on the Gerwalk and Battroid mode pics of the YF-30, it says SIEGFRIED 001 (or maybe 007) on the lower leg. Graham

Nice to see a VF-11 in the game play screen shots and a VF-171EX (although the VF-171EX had already been shown in the trailer). Although the game looks gorgeous, I'm still on the fence about buying it, until I know how hard it will be for people who can't read Japanese to play. With all the quest based missions, I suspect it will be much harder to muddle through, compared to the PSP games, even with GameFAQs guides. Graham
  6. Great pic from Cracked.com. Love the warning label. Graham
  7. Sketchley, Is Gamlin still in the military? Is he still a pilot? You mention his title 'Director Gamlin', Director of what? Can you elaborate please? Graham
  8. Oh dear I had high hopes for this, as I love the book, but after watching the trailer, it's gone 'from must see at the cinema', to 'torrent eventually, if bored and nothing else to do or watch'. CGI Olympic sprinter zombies just don't float my boat. Fail and pass. Back to The Walking Dead. Nothing more to see here folks. Graham

I'm a little concerned why we have the VF-1 and VF-25 shown flying with Super Packs in atmosphere in fighter mode. Also, I really hope we get the full range of VFs, not just the meagre selection shown so far. Really want VF-17D/S, VF-19F/S, VF-22S, VF-11B/C/Full-Armoured and VF-171/171EX as well. Graham
  10. This is probably what episode VII will end up looking like Is it just me, or does George have a "Oh, crap, WTF have I just done" kinda look on his face. Graham
  11. Patience guys. All good things come to he who waits. Graham
  12. Many years ago, Yamato told me that Kawamori-san wouldn't like it if they made a VF-2SS. Whether this still holds true today, I don't know. More recently (at least once a year), I suggest to them tha many overseas Macross fans would love them to make a perfect variable VF-2SS toy with removeable SAP. Their reply is always the same. They don't think the show and designs are popular enough. Graham
  13. I've asked Yamato about the final color of the stripes on the VF-17D, but no reply yet. Graham
  14. Some quick snaps of the new Armor Packs. Photos taken with my Galaxy S3. The VF-25F, was my spare, which I removed from the box for the first time today and the right shoulder ball joint was already super loose Graham
  15. I really hope we do get some new Macross 7 footage and get to see what the characters look like now. It would be great to see what Gamlin, Mylene and Basara are up to now. I wonder what Gamlin is flying these days, still the black VF-22S, or something more modern? Or perhaps he's in comand of a ship by now. Perhaps, we'll see Ozma piloting a YF-29 in his color scheme from the PS3 game. Graham IMO, in all but animation quality, Macross 7 > Macross Frontier. Graham
  16. I actually love the sleekness of the VF-19S/F without the canards and love the shape of the wings also. The VF-19S/F are my second all time favorite VF designs behind the VF-17D/S. Graham
  17. Hehe, I've no idea what a 'TFC Hercules and a Maketoys Yellow Giant' are. My son is the transformers fan in the family, not me and he only likes Gen 1. But yes, quite a few shops here do sell 3rd party TF toys. Graham
  18. Great detective work Renato. Mystery solved. Although why that shop has it is another mystery. I may have to ask them how much thay want for it. Graham
  19. Anybody knows what this is? Saw it in a toy shop window today. Seems to be some sort of display item, possibly with light and sound (unsure). It looks like the two halves may swing open. For what purpose, I don't know though. Graham
  20. Got my Ozma and Alto Armor Parts yesterday. Only time to put the Armour on Ozma in fighter mode. Good detail on the Armour, including some panel linining.....nice. Took a while to get it all on, but once it was on, it seems to stay on better than the super frustrating Gen I armor . The chest armour stays on mine pretty well. Was annoyed about the gunpod not staying attached firmly between the legs, until I checked the instructions and realized I hadn't installed that small rectangular clip that locks the legs more tightly together......Hahaha, a case of RTFM! Graham
  21. Same here. I didn't really enjoy the original trilogy, but for some reason I really liked First Class. Graham
  22. Loved the Hobbit as a kid. First read it when I was 9 and re-read it a few times since. Probably about due for another re-read. Dunno why, but I'm just not at all pumped up about this movie, probably beacuse the LotR movies didn't really do much for me. Maybe my tastes have changed over the years, but I'm far more excited about seeing the upcoming Expendables 2 and Dredd movies. Graham
  23. Well, finally got this game installed and running and and been playing a few times over the past week, but extremely disappointed in this game. I was hoping for something like MUF/MTF, which current gen Android phones are easily capable or running, but instead we get something that comes across like some extremely amateurish Flash shooting game from 5+ years ago, where most of the times poor as it is , you are not even shooting, just click, click clicking on onscreen menues.........yawn. Compared with current generation state-of-the-art Android games, such as Batman The Dark Night Rises, Modern Combat 3, N.O.V.A. 3, Dead Trigger or even older Android games, such as Silpheed Alternative, Destroy Gunners SP, or H.A.W.X. it is really, really bad. Uninstalling. Graham
  24. Cleared my cache and data and then re-logged in and was able to play the game. However, I have to say, compared to modern state-of-the-art Android games, such as Modern Combat 3, The Dark Knight Raises, N.O.V.A.3, Dead Trigger etc, this Macross game is about 2 years (at least) behind current top of the line games. Certainly, Android in its present state on a high end phone is easily capable of surpassing MTF. Graham
  25. So is the VF-4 playable in this game? Graham
