To be honest, I'm much more a fighter mode person. And although this may horrify many on this thread, the VF-4, is actually one of my least favorite VFs. Nice engineering on the toy though. Graham

Haha, what makes you think it's secure at all. It's basically just sitting on top of the VF-17D. Graham

Time for some Diamond Force pics. Graham Do it. It's a great toy, apart from the canopy being a pig to open on some of them. Graham

The sliding post that you need to pull up to raise the canopy before you can hinge it back is so tight on the VF-17D. On my first VF-17D, I actually broke the purple plastic canopy hinge struggling to open it . Luckily I was able to fix it with some carefully applied super glue. On my second VF-17D, the only way I can get the canopy open is as you said opening the chest plate first. Even then, on this particular VF-17D, the sliding post for the canopy won't extend all the way up. I think the factory workers must have got some glue in there by accident. One solution I found for those brave enough is to prise out out the whole cockpit interior with a small screwdriver until the glue seal breaks then you can disassemble the cockpit raising mechanism and shave it down slightly, so it's not so tight. I did this on one of my VF-17S. Graham

Anybody having trouble opening the canopy on their VF-17D? It definitely seems much harder and toighter to pull up compared with the VF-17S. Graham

Decided to sticker mine up a bit. Will be returning it to fighter mode soon. Not really digging battroid or gerwalk modes. 6 of the damn missiles fell off during transformation. Only the leg missles did not fall off. Graham

Anybody know where this part goes? It fell off during transformation. Looks like a screw hole cover, but I can't find where on the toy it's from. Graham

Received my first release 30th anniversery YF-29 yesterday from Nippon-Yassan. Liking it much more than expected. Colour scheme looks really good. Just wish it had the skulls on the tail fins as well. I know Nippon-Yassan has received some flak recently for their packing, but the packing on mine was fine. Sturdy enough shipping carton, with no damage and full of pink paper to protect the toy box from moving around inside the carton. Can't really ask for more. One think I noticed is that the wing tabs seem to lock into the lower legs much more securely than my YF-29 Alto. One of my many pet peeves with the Alto version is that the locking between the lower legs and wings in fighter mode is not secure enough and the legs are always unlocking and droooping down. I'll have to compare the tabs on the two toys later and see if any improvements were made. Graham

My son and I really enjoyed both seasons of 'The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes'. Graham

Should be around the middle of the series I think. After City 7 gets fold-jacked by the Varauta and Battle 7 are trying to locate them. Graham

It's been a few years since I last watched MD7, but I don't recall any teal VF-17 with the M7 fleet. IIRC, the teal VF-17 was the one Lisa stole from the pirates. Graham

I know we all asked for and wanted removable missiles, but after just ten minutes with this thing only in fighter mode, (not even attempted to start transformation yet), I'm already ready to glue the damn missiles on! Graham

For static display, you can just sit a Fold Booster on the VF-17 I did that before when the VF-17S was released. Pretty sure I posted some pics as well. Of course if you want to pick it up and woosh it around, it's gonna move around or fall off.........hahah. Graham

Just received my VF-4G at the office, together with my second VF-17D w/Super Parts (Yay, my Diamond Force is now complete!). Only had time to take a quick peek at the VF-4G in the box, but gotta say it looks very plain. Then again, I've never been a huge VF-4 fan. Graham

I've imported CDs, DVDs and books many times from Amazon.co.jp. As far as I know, the only things they won't ship internnationally are toys and games. Same with bloody Amazon.com and Amazon UK as well Graham- 516 replies
