  1. I view MW 95% of the time from my phone these last few years. My home PC barely gets touched anymore. That said, I view the full version of MW on my phone's web browser, no need to view the mobile version. Graham
  2. Mwhahaha. Rather than firing it, it looks like he's gonna rip its legs off. Graham
  3. No, not yet. Wanted to ask what glue would be safe or best to use? Super glue? Tamiya model glue? Graham
  4. It's a 'Flying Kukris' coaches shirt. The mini-rugby club my son plays for. Graham
  5. Stickered mine up a bit. Graham
  6. Here's my video for unlocking the canopy on a VF-17 if you have one with a really stuck canopy. Graham
  7. A couple of pics to accompany the video Graham
  8. I first posted these pics and similar comments months ago, when we last discussed the ankles on the VF-19 toys. I've now got 7 x VF-19 toys in various flavours and don't have loose ankles on any of them. Admittedly Gerwalk is my least favourite mode and I seldom transform any of my toys into Gerwalk mode, but all of them have been in Gerwalk on occasion. When I originally spoke to Yamato about the ankles, they told me that the ankle ball and socket on the first release VF-19Kai were only given a coat of paint so it was more difficult to control dimensional tolerances, plus paint will wear, so the ankles could lose easiier if over stressed. Later releases of the VF-19 had the ankle joint being metal plated which would make them tighter. However, the only time I have heard members complaining of loose ankles on the VF-19 (please correct me if I'm wrong), is when they have deliberately over stressed the ankle joint pushing it past it's design limit in order to try to get a more 'aggressive' Gerwalk stance. I've never tried to force the VF-19's ankles further than they are supposed to go and so the ankles on my toys are all nice and firm. I also think you can get a great looking Gerwalk mode without trying to force the ankles past their limits. Just my 2 cents. Graham
  9. Here's a somewhat quick n rough video showing how to re-extend the neck cover. Graham
  10. I'm not usually a fan of Gerwalk mode in any VF, but the VF-17 does have one of the coolest Gerwalk modes IMO. Graham
  11. 1) I'm the opposite. If it transforms, then I wanna transform it. When I built the Bandai Macross Frontier kits, the Damn tab that locks the groin tab broke after only 2 to 3 transformations. Same thing with the fragile wing tab on Bandai's VF-19 kits. 2) But Bandai Macross kits are not usually as pre-coloured as their Gundam kits. Pretty much all of the coloured trim on Bandai Macross kits is usually decals or stickers. 3) Most, but not all. I think there's many people like me who occasionally buy & build kids of our favourite mecha, just because there is no toy available. Thankfully, this is mostly not the case with Macross anymore. 4) Intakes on the VF-27 kit were fugly. Still many gaps on the Frontier fighter kits. I think it's funny that the renewal toy ended up better proportioned than the kit Yes, there is the scale issue and I know many people do prefer 1/72 over 1/60. Graham
  12. Wave does supply the parts to allow you to build a Gerwalk, if you have both the Battroid and Fighter kits, so I understand. Graham
  13. Really not sure why people still want a transformable VF model kit these days anymore, when: They invariably break after a few transformations. Paint and/or decals will scratch if you transform them. Current generation transformable toys from Yamato and Bandai look amazing and will survive a lot more transmormations than a model kit. Transforming model kits give away a lot of accuracy in order to incorporate the transformation, ie gaps, visible hinges etc. Back in the bad old days of the 80s or early-to-mid 90s I could understand it more, as if we wanted a transforming VF our choices were limited to the old Bandai kits, Chunky Monkies, HCMs or SHE garage kits, but now we are spoilt for choice with Yamato and Bandai. I find it amusing that some members are wishing the Bandai kit is more like the Yamato V2. Haha, in that case just buy a V2, it comes in kit form also I just don't see this Bandai VF-1 kit bringing anything more to the table than the Yamato VF-1 already does. I've been collecting Macross models and toys on and off since 1983 and continuously since 1988 and have gone the whole route from the early Arai/Imai kits, to the Bandai kits, Chunky Monkies, HCMs, Bandai Macross 7 models and toys, pro-built SHE Kits, pro-built Hasegawa kits, Yamato toys, Bandai frontier kits and toys. Honestly, I would never ever go back to transfoming model kits again. Honestly, if I was still into model kits and wanted a realistic looking VF-1 that I could paint for display, I'd buy a Hasegawa or Wave kit. Graham
  14. Hope they correct some of the colouring mistakes from the first run. The VF-17S head error is the most glaring error IIRC. Graham
  15. Because Yamato may not actually keep stock of every part as a spare part. If they don't have stock of that specific then it's a matter of if they and/or the factory are willing to reopen production just to produce a small quantity of a specific part. Most factories have certain minimum order quantities in the hundreds or thousands and may not be too willing to set up production just to knock out a handful of one part. Remember, the production run of this toy finished weeks ago and the factory that made it has moved onto other things by now. Hopefully Yamato has the part you need and it's just a matter of them getting caught up after the recent holiday in Japan. Graham
  16. I notice many people who post pics are not getting the neck cover extended all the way in fighter mode after transforming back from battroid. If done right, it should be flush with the chest plate in fighter mode. There is a trick to this. Also, for those with stuck VF-17D canopies, I found a way to open it. Think I'll work on a transformation video, or at least a helpful tip video at the weekend. Graham

    Macross 30

Really liking the Isamu colour YF-29. Hope Bandai releases the toy in that colour. I still find it curious that they have Isamu in a YF-29, rather than his trademark YF-19. Graham
  18. It's yellow and pale blue trim, not gold and silver. And yes. Graham

    Vf-0 vs SV-51

I'd say get the SV-51. Hold off on the Zero. Graham
  20. VF-19F is a fantastic toy. My favorite of all the VF-19 varients. Graham
  21. Quoted for truth Graham
  22. Each to their own, but the VF-17D/S's battroid mode is my all time favorite battroid. So mean and aggressive looking. Special Forces Heavy Battroid........love it. Graham Graham
  23. Haha, the Yamato VF-17's fighters mode is positively svelte compared to the Bandai 1/65 version. Graham
