I've just been putting together the HG YF-21 kit the last few days. It's a really fun kit to build and really well designed. Definitely my favorite out of the HG Macross kits. I'll be starting building the HG Gamlin VF-22S this weekend.

Hoping we get an announcement from Bandai soon about a DX VF-22S Max or Milia or Gamlin version. My personal preference is for the Max VF-22S

A bit disappointed no new updates from Banda about upcoming HMR Macross releases. 😠Was hoping for news of Macross 7 HMRs: VF-19F/S/P, VF-11MAXL, VF-11C/D, VF-17T/D/S. And of course the remaining SDFM Destroids, as well as DYRL & TV N-Ger and Q-Rau.

I'll buy one of the upcoming Revival VF-27, as: 1) I currently don't own a Bandai DX VF-27. Can't remember why, a it's lost in the midst of time but I got rid of my previous ones years ago, either I sold them off or threw them out, 2) The new VF-27 Revival will be kept in fighter mode, which is my preferred display mode for all my VF toys (my display ratio is Fighter = 80% / Battroid = 15% / Gerwalk = 5%), so this will avoid any potential issues with Battroid and Gerwalk mode if they still exist with the new Revival version.

Will be getting one, as no longer have my old Tornado Parts. Will keep it on atmospheric fighter mode, which is the mode I think looks best.

How did you replace the wing hinge on the Arcadia YF-19? I'm asking as a few days ago the metal high speed wing hinge on the left wing of my Arcadia YF-19 from 2014 snapped at the hinge point. 😠This is one of the reasons why I just decided to pick up the PF version, so I could have a non-broken Arcadia YF-19. Plus the PF version looks better IMO. But I'd still like to get my older one repaired if possible.

Yeah, I prefer the look of the Arcadia too. While the DX is a good toy, there's some design choices I don't like.

The elbow of my last Yamato Fire Valk finally broke about 6 months ago ðŸ˜. So I decided it was time to get the Arcadia version, plus I really wanted the little Fire Bomber Figures that come with the Arcadia version.

New Macross Animation Announced, to be animated by Sunrise

I'm just wondering if the streaming deal with Disney+ has delayed or even scuppered the planned new Macross series that was to be produced by Sunrise? I mean it's been over a year since the news about the Sunrise produced series broke, but we haven't heard anything since. Possibly Disney have their own plans for a new Macross series.....hmmm? I personally hope not, given in my personal opinion Disney is a franchise killer and most (but not all) of the Disney releases for Marvel/Star Wars/Doctor Who/Indiana Jones have been pretty bad (again just my personal opinion). It's now 8 years since Delta TV series was released and 16 years since Frontier TV series was released. So I hope we get a new TV series soon, just not if Disney has any creative control. None of us including Kawamori are getting any younger! 😅 -
I must admit, I haven't been following this closely. But after seeing the recent pics, I need to ask is the finished version still available to purchase?

I would love a full Armored VF-11C. It's such a shame that nobody has ever made one in toy form. It's my favorite out of all the armored VFs.

Hoping we get some news from Bandai soon about a DX VF-22S from Macross 7. Personally hoping for the blue Max Jenius type, but I'd also be happy with Gamlin's black version or Milia's red one.

Re-watching Macross 7 on D+, so just dug my old Yamato VF-17DS, VF-19F, VF-11C and VF-22S Max type out of storage. Haven't handled them in years. I really wish Arcadia would would re-release the the VF-17D/S, but in a gloss finish, with Tampo printed markings and make the plastic colors more closely follow that of the old Bandai 1/65 toys, i.e. more of a glossy dark blueish-black. I still love the old Bandai VF-17D/S, And I'm still bummed that we never got a red Milia VF-17S from either Bandai or Yamato.

I'm really looking forward to these HG VF-22S kits. I've always been more of a fan of the VF-22S than the YF-21. Especially Max's VF-22S.

I still believe that the VF-11 and VF-17 molds/tooling were lost or somehow went missing in the transition from Yamato to Arcadia. I did hear that as an unsubstantiated rumour back in the day from one of my former contacts. No idea if it is true or not. But it could explain why the Yamato VF-11B/C and VF-17D/S have never been re-issued by Arcadia, Or maybe Arcadia still have the tooling, but don't have the licensing rights to produce them and/or don't think it would be profitable to re-issue them?

Yeah, I mean it's great that our mobile phones give us access to pretty much every song/movie/TV series that's ever been recorded. But more and more recently I find myself yearning for the simpler times of the 70s and 80s and even the 90s (at least up to the mid 90s), before the internet and mobile devices and social media. Guess it's just another sign of getting old.
