Also, I'll say what I said a few pages back. This VF-2SS toy from Evolution absolutely does not appear to be designed with any SAP attachment points. There's no slots, holes, pegs, tabs etc at all in evidence for connecting a SAP to. So I sincerely doubt that Evolution is planning to release a stand-alone SAP that can attach to the VF-2SS. So all of you expecting and hoping for a SAP accessory are likely to be dissapointed. What I think will happen is that if the toy sells well enough, Evolution will modify the tooling and release a revised version including a SAP (that may or may not be removable, depending on how ambitious they feel). I bugged Yamato for years and years to make a VF-2SS with SAP, but they always said the show was too unpopular, hardly anyone liked it or knew about it, toy wouldn't sell, etc, etc, blah blah. And also that Kawamori-San would get pissed if they made one (dunno it that was really true though). Graham

As I've said before, if you want the chance of more VF-2SS toys (or Mac II toys), support and buy this. If you don't care about ever getting any more Mac II toys, then don't buy it. The Japanese manufacturers need to see that there is a demand for these. As Kevin Costner said, "you pay in advance, they will come" (or something like that) In the end, the number or orders talks.

The eyes on that SD Lick Hunter figure are kinda creepy looking. And now that Yamato is dead and buried, I guess Toynami and Whore-Money Gold feels safe ripping off Yamato's urban cammo and black and gold paint schemes <_< And who is Calibre toys?

I'm glad I only like the look of the packs attached in Battroid mode. With both Arcadia and Bandai, the Fighter mode should remain bare IMO, just looks better naked.

Terminator 5/Terminator: Genisys, opening July 1, 2015
Graham replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Saw it two days ago with my wife and son. Really enjoyed it. Definitely picking up the Blu-ray when it's out. A worthy seqeul to gthe first two movies and far superior to T3 and Salvation. The only thing I disliked was the bus flipping scene.- 508 replies

Gotta say, without fast packs, I've had no problems transforming to and from fighter mode. The instruction booklet is very clearly illustrated. While there are more steps than the Arcadia, it's still pretty easy too transforn in my opinion.
-
Dunno why some of you guys are taking an hour to transform back to fighter mode (unless it's with the super parts attached....heh, heh)!!! Without super parts, it should take no more than ten minutes. Graham

I'm a sucker for a Hikaru Strike Valk.

Tape holding parts together is pretty common on resin toy sculpts.

Arcadia should have released the VF-1 FAST Packs already if they wanted to make a quick buck.

Same here. Exact hinge placement be damned, it looks good enough for me. But seriously, that photoshopped, colorized pic looks "shut up and take my money" awesome. Graham

Sorry, I have zero contact and no relationship with Arcadia. About 12+ months ago the last of the 3 close contacts that I used to have at Yamato told me they have no more contact with Arcadia. They have all moved on to other jobs. So, I know nobody at Arcadia. I have no idea what their plans are. I have no contact with them. Graham

I do think Arcadia needs to step up their game, as in my opinion they have now been surpassed by Bandai. 6-7 years ago when Bandai started with the first generation of Frontier toys, they were obviously so far behind Yamato and had to do a lot of catching up. However, I do think with Bandai's recent releases such as the YF-30 and VF-19 Advance, Bandai has now surpassed Arcadia in terms of design and quality. Of course both Yamato/Arcadia and Bandai have had their share of disasters and neither company is perfect, but I personally feel that Bandai is now leading the way.

When I look at that close-up pic of the lower leg, all I see is "wow, look at that lovely surface detail on the verniers and the amazing tampo"
-
One thing I love about the Bandai is that canopy seems much clearer than any other vF-toy. Great optical clarity. Graham

I definitely prefer the Bandai in the above side-by-side Fighter mode shots, as better looking nose shape and angle and less chunky lower leg. The only thing that bugs me is the canard angle. Graham

I didn't see this when it was at the cinema, although I wanted to, just no time back then during its short run. I've been looking forward to watching it when it was released on Blu-ray and finally was able to buy the Blu-ray this weekend. What's more it was a 4K Blu-ray..........my first one Anyway, watched the movie with my son and we both really enjoyed it. Blomkamp's visuals as usual were amazing, the gunfights were well choreographed, the FX were great and the mecha designs outstanding. The movie was a bit sad in places, although I guess you can say it had a happy ending. The neural transfer was a bit hokey, but overall I really liked the movie and will be watching it for a second time soon. I give it a 7.5 out of 10. Blomkamp's second best film IMO. Graham

Looks good enough for me. My only concern is that I don't see any possible attachment points for a future SAP There's no visible slots, holes, tabs, pegs etc.

Regarding my earlier comments about the chest unlocking during handling when in Battroid mode, I'd just like to clarify, that as another member already posted, this only happens when you move the shoulders, not during general handling. As long as you use one hand to stabilize the chest when you're are moving the shoulders, it's fine.
